Nintendo Gaming / RE:Recommended SD Card size for Wii?

I dont want this to sound illegal or anything (so please delete if we arent allowed to mention such things, mods):

But if you download a package online of around 3500 NES roms, its about 200 meg... So theres really no problem with ONLY nes games...

Unfortunately the file sizes get larger with each system.... SNES is bigger than NES and some N64 games are 32-64 megs each...

its obvious why they dont use the nunchuck to open doors

you can just let go of the nunchuck and scratch your privates or maybe your elbow while the door is opening

Nintendo Gaming / Microsoft is a genious
« on: November 17, 2006, 05:51:03 PM »
That topic doesnt really make sense, but who cares...

In 2001 Microsoft and Nintendo had to rush the release of the Xbox and Gamecube to keep up with Sony's 2000 PS2 launch worldwide. Microsoft said "I'm tired of that crap" and Nintendo was working at their own pace happily anyway, so Microsoft releases the 360 about a year before they probably could have released it. Now Sony is stuck, every day more 360s are sold and every day another BD-rom manufacturer sells diodes to a BD-player instead of to Sony.

Eventually after being totally rushed they come out with 300,000 consoles with only 6-20 PS3's in each store. At this manufacturing rate it seems impossible to catch up with microsoft... Not just DEMAND-wise but like, physically impossible to make enough freakin diodes.

Now you can pretty much buy a 360 AND a Wii for the price of a PS3 and a couple accessories. How exciting! I'm so happy for Nintendo. I really liked about 20 gamecube games but I think the Wii is just gonna make me even happier!

Nintendo Gaming / NOW I get it - Yamauchi

Do you guys remember this:
Quote

"The DS represents a critical moment for Nintendo's success over the next two years", Yamauchi said -- "if it succeeds, we rise to the heavens, if it fails, we sink into hell."

Ah, good old Yamauchi. How right he was. He was talking about Nintendo's plan to break into the casual handheld gamer market as a precursor to releasing the wii as a casual gamer's gaming console. Hopefully the master plan will work.

honestly kings x i am in the same kind of situation as you - i wanted a CHEAP CHEAP home theater setup so i did this:

infocus 4805 projector (480p) - $700 you can probably get it cheaper now (the newer version even - Infocus IN72)
RCA 500watt 5.1 reciever + 5 speakers/sub (HTIB) at wal-mart - $130
unofficial ceiling mount on ebay - $50 (vs $300 for "official" mount, lol - mine hasnt fallen yet!)
various cables - $70 (i did need a 16 foot component cable, costed 40 or so - but you can connect it to your wii with an rca cable splice)

total cost $950-$1000

i know all these audiophiles out there are saying "oh my god how can you possibly hear everything clearly" but a speaker is a speaker in my opinion. and all those videophiles are saying "theres not enough lumens in that to project the image onto the face of the moon" and yes they are correct. I pretty much have to play in the dark, like with many front projectors. i've heard "higher quality" speakers and yes, the sound does sound better and everything, but i just can't bring myself to spend much on an audio setup until maybe i get my own house or something.

if all you wanna do is watch movies and play games, a front projector might be for you (standard dvds are 480p so my projector resolution matches perfectly). i'm personally going to skip the whole 720p and go straight to 1080p in a couple years and get an HD-DVD player or Blu-Ray (if, god forbid, sony wins the hd dvd wars)
