General Gaming / RE:N64 worse than GC...but better?
« on: February 15, 2004, 05:26:11 PM »
i think one of the differences ive noticed between nintendo made 64 games and gamecube sequels are the level design...mariosunshine...yea it was a great platformer..but mario64's level design killed it. no...mario64 took sunshine..dragged it accross the desert 10 times, ripped out it's heart...ate eat...then it proceeded to laugh while chanting...wweee!...the tunel missions in sunshine were ok...but everything else just felt like it was placed there to be explored....NOT played thru...

..another game is mariokart...i dunno about everyone else...but for me...doubledash just doesnt have the same feeling as mariokark64.  the tracks were easy...and awfully bland, the music was boring..and it just felt like the amount of creativity was well...not alot.

..i havent played windwaker yet...so cant say anything there...but to me...it just feels like the developers over at nintendo are kinda holding back in their games...like theyre going for the subtle approach..

..well wake uP!!!...

...anyway, snes rules over all consoles as the machine which had the best games...ever...and thats that...snes > n64/gamecube...

General Chat / RE:Is it money or software thats the root to success
« on: February 15, 2004, 05:05:04 PM »
its definately the software that makes success...not money...but then again, money does have a huge part in the videogame business, just like it does in any other business...but in the end..its just about giving gamers what they want...that gets sales..and eventually even more money to the suppliers...

..grandtheftauto the actual gameplay itself wasnt all that great...just a regular 3d actioner...but the idea of the game...now that is why it is successful...people want to play a game where they commit crimes, steal cars, and beat up cops..helps relieve anger...the majority of people could care less if the control or camera was perfect or not. and now thats the thing...nintendo on the other hand...does not care what the people want...the care about what they think is good for the videogame business, and ultimately for themselves...that is why we see games like pikmin, miyamotopacman, and celshaded zelda...and while that all might be fine and dandy for gamers who love new kinds of gameplay...the majority probably will not buy into it as much...

..so my bottomline...nintendo can become king again even though they dont control the most money...but its not going to happen...because nintendo is nintendo...but then again..thats not all too horrible...

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Iwata and Yamamuchi Interview

i think its too early to say whether or not the ds will be business suicide or not...we havent even seen the thing yet...for all we know, it could be like a pair glasses that give you the ability of xray vision!..and revolutinizes the face of gaming!..

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Does Anyone think...

it seems alittle too early for that...give it a year or two...when gamecube is singing its last swan song...then it should happen...nows too soon, itll only promote early cube death...

well...yamauchi basically said if the ds is not successful...than nintendo will be in pretty bad shape right?...what does that mean?...it sounds to me like nintendo will go all out with the ds...and that doesnt sound all too good for gamecube's successor if you catch my drift...this is just one take i guess...
