Nintendo Gaming / RE:Portable GC becoming more and more likely?
« on: March 13, 2005, 02:27:31 PM »
People keep sayin that the Revolution will use a disk format similar to the UMD that sony created. Meaning a disc will be cased like a UMD. If Nintendo uses this format its going to be hard to make Revolution backward compatible. I think Nintendo should make the GBA next compatible with GC games and choose this format for its next handheld. I think its a mistake to make revolution backward compatible if your going 2 use a diffrent media like the UMD instead of a disc based console.

One thing that I dont like is that third party publishers are flooding the PSP with games.
There are also too many killer apps coming to the PSP like GTA, Metal Gear, and alot others. Sony is just aiming for an older audience, but little kids just want to be cool and play games like GTA and other older games. Nintendo said they were aiming at an audience from 5 to 95 if if they want to do this they have to balance there games from E to M. Most PSP titles are going to range from T to M. So Far Nintendo or a third party publisher has not yet announced an M rated games. My point is parents dont really care what there kids play these days. Everybody is going to want one not just for the multimedia options but for older games. I know without a doubt that any PSP user is going to want a GTA game for there PSP. I hope Nintendo does something to fix this. I love Nintendo and there games there all great but some kids dont want to be seen playing super mario or mr driller because they think there baby games, hopefully Nintendo does something to fix this. Adults also love sports games and I know EA will give a a Madden game sooner or later to the PSP. Adults love sports titles. The reason they haven't been doing so good on gameboy is because of the graphics the DS futher improves this issue but not by much. Graphic wise the PSP is going to be the perfect system for sports games but who knows I might be wrong. Nintendo sooner or later will do something about the PSP and give DS something better maybe a portable smash bros? Who knows hopefully Nintendo will suceed with what they do not only with the DS but with the next gameboy. Great Editorial by the way.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Is Nintendo DS really inferior to the SONY PSP?
« on: January 19, 2005, 09:57:58 AM »
One thing that I dont seem to get is that people keep saying that the next gameboy wont be in development until Nintendo see's that the DS suceed's? Is this true because alot of people are saying this?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:should we worry now?
« on: January 16, 2005, 05:28:53 AM »
I think Nintendo is in trouble. I love Nintendo its my favorite company but if you look
at Nintendo's DS all it has is a touch screen and a mic over the PSP. If you look at Sony's PSP it has better graphics it has music right out of the box and it has video.
Nintendo's DS doesn't have any of these features but they have add ons. Plus kids in these days love GTA and other violent games. They want a product thats not going to make them look like babies with PSP now getting GTA, Nintendo better get good games on the DS like a smash brothers or another great third party game. One thing that is really getting me mad is that all these third parties like EA and Namco are really supporting the PSP. EA alone is giving the PSP 6 launch titles alone. I hope Nintendo gets alot more third party in the future.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: PSP vs DS
« on: October 31, 2004, 09:55:36 AM »
srry about above. Listen Ive been hearing a bunch of people talkin how cool the PSP is and how lame the DS is. They say it doesn't play DVD's and also doesn't play music and also plays alot of 2D games. I agree that DS cant play DVD's and play music but it can improve on the graphics. One thing I really come to notice is that Nintendo keeps making 2D games (that can already be made on the GBA)and adds a few features that the DS has. Most people say that because of the so many 2D games on the DS than 3D its going to fail because people will look at it like it was another GBA with extra features. The only games that ive seen for launch that are 3D are Mario 64 DS,Madden,Tiger Woods, and ridge racer. My point is that Nintendo should make a few 2D games for DS and concentrate on 3D and if they want to make more 2D games like Princess Peach or the new kirby game make it for the GBA after all Nintendo said they wont be abandoning the GBA so why not make 2D games for a 2D platfrom. Take THe new Kirby announced for the DS, it uses the same graphics and gameplay engine that the GBA uses all there adding are the touch pad features and probaly a few more things. Meanwhile the PSP is using alot more 3D graphics on the games. If this continues Nintendo might be in trouble. Who agrees?

I cant believe their making another 2D game for the DS can someone please tell me why they didnt make this game for GBA? The DS is about 3D and to tell you the truth ive barely seen any. Sure this new peach game looks good but it should of been released for the GBA or SNES. What would be good is a 3D peach game. Anybody agree?

Does anyone have an idea if the DS is going  to have an internal clock or a main menu much similar to the one on gamecube like clock, options, or gameplay? People keep saying that the DS aint going to have none of this but you never know?

« on: August 12, 2004, 08:44:54 AM »
I just heard one of the editors at IGN that the DS may need a memory card? He said that it will be hard and expensive for Nintendo to make games save on the game card but he's not quite sure of of this what do you think?

I was wondering is the DS better than the N64 in its tech specs? PSP is definitly better than PSone so I was wondering if the DS is going to be better than the N64? Also people in other forums are saying that the DS will have a main menu when you turn it on like gameplay, chat functons, clock, and options? I dont know if this is true but I really wanted to know if it was going to have a clock because people keep telling that it is going to have a clock?

Also how much DRAM or RAM does the DS have? Is more than PSone,N64,or Sega Saturn? Is ram the main memory?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Why is storage such a freaking problem!?
« on: August 09, 2004, 07:55:03 AM »
So what you're saying that is that if a developer wants to make a game like Final Fantasy 7 or one even bigger will they have the choice to expand the memory of the DS game card or will they have to put the game on more  than one DS game cards?
Also is it true that a CD takes more battery because of the spindle? I think thats Nintendo's main idea of using carts because they dont take much battery and also they dont load as much. But Sony is using UMD which probally needs a spindle and will load alot and thats just going to drain juice out of the battery. That's why Nintendo uses the cartridges because of there semiconductor technology. But Nintendo should make the DS media more bigger than just 128 MB.

Does the DS have a main menu similar to the Gamecube like clock, gameplay,or options? Could it possibly have a chat function in the menu if it has one?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Sony may lose steam challenging Nintendo here!!!
« on: June 13, 2004, 03:21:08 PM »
I was wondering if the DS can have the same amount of memory that the UMD compared to the DS cards? Would that be a problem for developers? I heard the PSP has 1.8 giga byte in the UMD. But I also heard that the DS has 1 gigabyte and beyond. What do they mean by Beyond? Will it top off Sony's UMD?

Is the DS going to have a main menu similar to what Gamecube has like gameplay, clock, and options. Is it ture you have to buy Picto chat or does it come built in the DS. Also is that sonic game going to be a mini game or is it going to have a really good sonic single player mode? One more thing so SquareEnix actually confirmed that the DS will get Crystal Chronicles, and if so is it going to be a port of the gamecube with bad graphics or is going to be diffrent from the gamecube's?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: DS games: Several game screens
« on: June 10, 2004, 06:59:46 PM »
How come the games on the DS are so short and there all multiplayer. Nintendo is not adding single player modes to there games like Super Mario64x4 they should add the original N64 game. And games like Sonic DS were really short im thinking this was a mini game, because all you do was race Sonic to the finish, unless this is just an example of the game. It should have a good adventure sonic game but I doubt it. I was begining to wonder if a game like Final Fantasy is possible on the DS. The DS also might lack in memory. I was also wondering if the DS has a main menu, similar to what gamecube has like gameplay, clock, options? Well I hope Nintendo release's multiplayer games with a real good and long story. Is this possible on the DS?

I just wanted to know if the DS has a main menu similar to gamecube like options, gameplay, and clock. Also I noticed something that the DS is lacking in.
Most of the DS games are multilplayer and short. I was wondering if a game like Final Fantasy is even possible on the system. Most of the games like Mario 64x4 and Metroid Prime hunters are all multyiplayer games and not single player games. I could understand if Nintendo includes Multiplayer modes on every game they release but they should add a good single player mode to it as well. For example Mario64x4 is a good multiplayer game but it would be better if they added the whole Super Mario 64 adventure game that was released for the N64. I also wanted to know if Nintendo is going to release any single player games add all. Nintendo is concentrating only on multiplayer and their not thinking of the people who may not have friends near by.
Also most of the games were really short like Sega's Sonic DS. Is that going to be a mini game because all I saw was sonic racing to the finish, all you did was make him faster by moving the stylus rapidly. So my point is that DS games are really short and Nintendo is focusing on Multiplayer games only I hope they make a single player mode for each game that they release and I hope third party publishers do the same thing.
