But let's face it - Every time a multiplataform game hits all 3 consoles at the same time the NGC version sells the worst (Sure, Soul Calibur 2 and possibly Sonic Heroes are exceptions but still you gotta admit that in 99% of the cases the NGC version is outsold by the other two) - So I can't really blame Criterion on that even though that means I won't be able to play the game.

Your right, in the past alot of the times the GC version of a multiplat game sold the least... But that was the past... Alot has happened in the recent months... ever since Gamecube hit $99 sales have been absolutly fantastic, and that goes for software sales as well... As of now gamecube is in 2nd place world wide OFFICIALY.... The last 2 high profile multiplat games, Sonic Heros, and SC2 sold the MOST on gamecube... I think now multiplat games will sell more on gamecube than other systems...

I do not understand why.. The gamecube is now selling 5x more than ever and growing.. also having recently surpassed xbox in total sales... PS2 is also on the decline and its only  a matter of time before gamecube overtakes PS2 in sales rate, and maybe even someday total sales.. Maybe the whole theory about developers wanting to release games to  a console that alot of people own is false, otherwise why wouldnt ea want to put this game on gamecube?? In fact, gamecube being such a "car racing game genre" starved platform, a good racer would sell very well.... I dont know how well 2 sold but that should not be taken as a huge indication of how well 3 will sell concidering the recent comeback gamecube has made in recent months... Gamecube software in general is selling better than ever before.. Is this game being planned for xbox? if so then im very confused... Xbox has the lowest worldwide userbase overall of the 3 consoles... why is gamecube STILL being left out?

TalkBack / RE:Nintendo Lowers Expectations

So basicly they had to lower expectations NOT because of any kind of sales deficiency but only because they are somewhat at the mercy of the USD-Yen exchange rate fluxuations? Thats very strange... so Nintendo's proffits grow when the economy of its homeland plunges??  So Nintendo HOPES for Japan's economy to dive??

I just had an idea... what if this system is nintendo's way of going online with games?? Maybe this systems whole purpose is for multiplayer online games via some sort of mobile wireless internet, and would double as a phone also... ala the Ngage.. Obviously Nokia flubbed it up, but it in essence was a great concept...  And Nintendo would make it actually work.... Maybe it would have some sort of online service like Xbox live but wireless... It really makes scence if you think about it.... Nintendo didnt want to spend a whole lot of money doing it for gamecube since it didnt have a large enough REGULAR user base let alone an online one. And it was already too late for the GBA since it was already completed and on the market without being equipped with any wireless networking hardware.. so the logical thing to do is to just make a new machine altogether whos architechture is based around this idea. And they probably figured since they've had the most success in the handheld market as of late, that it was the direction they would have the most success in.. They probably observed the ngage closlely from day one taking note from start to finish and learned from someone elses mistakes instead of thier own for a change... So now at least they will know what NOT to do, and that alone might give them the edge they need to make this a huge success... If it just gets off the ground there will be no stopping it... just imagine how cool it would be to play multiplayer online games like we all did with dreamcast and xbox but being 100% mobile... Then again this could all be one huge mental fantasy ive created within my own brain and we could just be looking forward to a gameboy with 2 screens... But does nintendo really think that a handheld with 2 screens is the future of handheld gaming?? They obviously cannot be this dense... If not the whole online thing, surly there is at least one more gimmick that this hardware features tha will make it innovative... we'll just have to wait and see i guess...

The bottom line is... worldwide, Gamecube is in second place. Not sure how accurate your figures are. It was even acknowledged by nintendo in some sort of press conference held about a week ago... Gamecube's recent spurt in sales pushed the installed user base just past that of xbox wordwide... There was a whole big feature story about it on IGN, with a picture of mario holding up 2 fingers... I can dig it up if you like..

Im so glad to hear that Gamecube now is making a comeback. Its always been cool that the GBA has done so well, but i think we've all been lying to ourselves that it was enough... The Home Console is really the heart and soul of the videogame industry, so if the gamecube isnt selling well and the GBA is, its really only bitter sweet.. The jump in sales from 2002 really is incredible. Ive heard of sales spikes but the sheer manitude of the leap in sales the gamecube has experienced truely is unbelievable... And now that the gamecube exists without shame in the console biz, we can SURLY expect more top notch titles from some top notch developers. And to have Metal Gear comming up soon, its sure to only increase the sales even more... It became appearant to me that the Gamecube was now officialy a mainstream and owned console by the general gaming public and not just the hardcore when a discussion about mario kart DD sprung up amongst the guys at work... bear in mind that the normal gaming discussions normally consist of little more than Madden 2004 on Ps2.... That says alot about how Nintendo is starting to get back into the "scene" if you will...
