Nintendo Gaming / RE:Gameboy Cube? N5?
« on: November 09, 2003, 02:50:23 PM »
Thats not a bad idea.

The Cds are small, developers are already familiar with the hardware, and Nintendo doesnt have to do anything with the hardware except shrink it.

I say Nintendo should do it, and after that, put all focus on the N5.

Try this..

1. Turn on F-Zero.
2. Insert your second memory card ( the one you want the copied data on ) in the GameCube.
3. Save a file on the memory card ( the second one ).
4. Turn GCN off and insert your first memory card ( the one with all the info ) in.
5. Turn F-Zero back on, load that card, and take it out of the GCN slot.
6. Insert the second memory card and try to save.

Did it work?

Hey " The Perm " , where is your Icon from?

The GCN controller is cool, but some things need to be changed. I think nintendo should ditch the 4 bean shaped buttons and have six "regular "buttons on the face like the N64/Xbox. If Nintendo switches the left analog stick with the D-pad in " The Perm's " last controller picture on his site, I think it would be perfect.

They should also add another Z on the left, but make it comfortable like the N64's shoulders. ( like someone already stated ) Bigger D-Pad is a must. How about the return of the select button?

O and you could use the SNES controller for Game Boy games.

Im sorry, but the N64 idea for FPS is a bad idea.  Using the N64 controller for FPS would get you freakin owned in a game of timesplitters 2.  It just has too many limitations. For example, with the N64 controller, you cannot move and aim at the same time.

They just need to change the button layout, and the Z button.

in the first year, it would take atleast 2 years for them to challenge EA Sports and Nintendo doesn't have M$ money to lose

I dont think that nintendo should try to compete with EA in the sports category. They will get Owned. If N5 launched like 2 months before PS3/XbX2, Nintendo should try to get Madden and Live exclusive for 4 months. Madden sold the PS2 at launch. Who says it cant do the same for N5?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: What features should gamecube2 have?
« on: July 21, 2003, 05:41:55 PM »
-I want the N5 to have..

- A Dvd Player..  The Xbox 2/Ps3 will have it. Why give the rival consoles an advantage?  Nintendo must have everything Sony and MS have in their consoles.

- A Harddrive..  I swear, if nintendo goes the Memory card route, while MS and Sony use Harddrives.. I would be pisssed! =P

- Backwards Compatiblity.  Just like I said before.. N5 must have every feature Xbox2/Ps3 has.  Nintendo should add a GBA/GBC/GB port in the system too, and later make a GBA2 player add on.

- A Remote for Powering On and Off ( Who ever mentioned it, Good Idea! )

- Built in Ethernet port

Nintendo Gaming / RE: GCN Succesor Takes Shape

Even if Nintendo does some of this stuff, I still cant see them becoming number 1. Casual gamers are going to go to the Playstation name no matter what.

Hopefully, im wrong...

"I'm just afraid of teh fact that if the release it early, no one will buy it cause they're waiting for the PS3."

Well, I think it's better to release GCN2 early.  Nintendo has no other choice. Going head on with Ps3 at launch is suicide, as well as releasing it after. Nintendo should launch with a revolutionary Mario, which hopefully drops the whole " star collecting " thing. It's getting repetitive. ( IMO )

Zelda should wait until the second year of the GCN2's lifetime.  I agree with your other game choices though.

Dont forget Nintendo needs an exclusive FPS at launch from Retro!
