Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nintendo grabs Bandai
« on: November 16, 2003, 12:44:01 PM »
This is great news if Nintendo wants to diverisfy itself into other markets.  Nintendo already is one of the world's largest publishers of video games (both home sonsole and portable).  If they merged/bought out Bandai then they would also become the world's largest toy maker.  In addition to that they would have rights/liscenes to several anime and manga series as well as some of the studios in which those series are made.  Nintendo could then compete in multiple markets and NOT be as dependant in only video games.  This would truely make Nintendo a powerhouse.  However, I dont not know how likely it is for Nintendo to acquire Bandai.  Its apparent that they have an interest in the firm due to their investment but whether they will be successful in woeing enough support is far from evidant.  We'll have to take a wait and see approach.  But it would certainly benefit both Bandai and Nintendo if this news was to come into fruitation.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Denis Dyack and ....Kid Icarus

Denis Dyack's hint about MGS was with an interview with IGN.

Kinda funny, because first he talked about how subtle his hints were, then explained how they went over everbody's heads.  Then he gave the hint.

Some of the things we put in that we thought were sneaky people haven't even noticed yet. So we think that maybe we were too subtle and that maybe we need to put more action in.

If you look at games that I personally find very appealing, like Metal Gear Solid, they have huge amounts of flash and they've got the content as well. So I think that's the direction we're going to go in next time.

I purchased the Preview disc over at EB for 10 bucks + tax.  I also hear its available at Target for the same price.

All i have to say is WOW!!!!!!

The Viewtiful Joe demo is well worth the money.
Just the Demo of the game is one of my fave titles on the GCN...AND its only a 2 level demo.

Its gameplay (in the DEMO) is easy enough for anyone to pick up and play, but difficult to master (you are graded on style, combo attacks, time, defense, etc.)  Joe's different attacks  include: high and low punch and kicks with three modes: standard, slow, Fast Forward.  Throughout the Demo they make GOOD use of Joe's special abilities in order to kill enemies.   Because of its simple gameplay and addictive fun, Viewtiful Joe  feels like the "Super Mario" for this Generation; in terms of a game that ANYONE can play and really have fun while doing so.  Not to mention that the art style of the game is just O.O

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!  Go get this Preview Disc NOW!!!!!
