I picked up in the controls instantly, but did increase the aiming sensitivity to max.

FULL DISCLOSURE: Over the past seven years or so I've done the majority of my gaming on a Nintendo handheld, a lot of that with a stylus so I understand if I'm a bit more prepared than most.

I'm really disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm for Kid Icarus Uprising during the podcast.  I haven't enjoyed a game this much in many years, and to hear a collective "meh" and pass over the simply because of a misplaced trepidation over the controls is discouraging.

I'm in love with this game--it's hands down the best game on the system.  Anyone complaining about the controls obviously doesn't play very many 3/DS games--years of Picross have strengthened my hand muscles.

My only gripe is that that the bland/generic enemy designs that haunted Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary are back, though boss designs are fantastic.

I'm about 44 hours in, and I feel like Tales of the Abyss should have ended a few hours back.  After the game's second act, there is a very clear moment that feels like the grand finale (you'll know exactly when while playing) but the game just keeps going.  So far the last act feels like the direct-to-DVD sequel.

Having a blast otherwise--I agree that the cast carries Abyss, and some of their dialogue had me literally bursting out laughing.
