I'm hoping it and the new Style Savvy are announced at E3 for NA releases. I'll take something low-key like the Fossil Fighter's announcement last year.

Hell, I'll take the announcement written on discarded paper dropped from hot air balloons.

I was hoping Donkey Kong: Original Edition would have shown up.

Nothing for me, but there are a few things the missus would like.

It looks pretty fun, so I might get it. I only wish that the same-sex glitch/option was kept in. :c

Since the glitch only ever caused the system to incorrectly identify male characters as female, could it truly be viewed as a same-sex option in a true capacity?

The inability to create a lesbian relationship, to me, would have been more harmful. It could interpreted as Nintendo saying "Male/male relationships are acceptable, but keep those female/female ones locked in the closet"

Of course, this is ignoring the fact the glitch would cause the game not to boot up or save properly.

So its official folks.

June 6th for NA/EU.

Running through Mach Rider. I had intended to play some Disney Magical World but with only one save slot, I'm giving the opportunity to my wife.

A tad disappointing there isn't more than one slot, and it appears to be likewise for Tomadachi.

I was able to get progressively cheaper as the game went on. The first game cost me $2.00 then the last haggled game cost me $1.50.

The four discount coupon games go as low as $1.50.

But be forewarned, you only get a finite number of the discount coupons and you can screw up getting them for as cheap as possible. I messed things up and my last game cost me $2.20 and it could have gone lower.

All and all, it cost me less than $20 to unlock everything.

General Gaming / Re: Worst impulse buy you've ever had?

Hmm.

I had a nasty habit of buying a game's original release, then buying the GOTY edition as well. I bought Fallout New Vegas on clearance. Then saw New Vegas Ultimate Edition on sale for $20 one Christmas and bought it as well.

Both still have the plastic seal on them.

Thankfully, I've tried to move past that. Though I did buy Razor's Edge after picking up NG3 on PS3 about two months before I bought the Wii U.

I played some Jam with the Band last night and downloaded some songs. User created songs. Songs with titles like "sexual illusion" (or something like that).

Pretty much the reason why I don't opt for that element of games any more.  Everyone was touting LittleBigPlanet's create and share functionality and how there were going to be millions of fantastic levels created by players like me!

In reality, there were maybe two or three really stand out levels and eleventy kajillion awful levels inspired by whatever was popular at the time. I remember having to stomach my way through at least a dozen "Mortal Kombat" levels that were highly recommended by the community.

9
The list Nintendo already posted contains all solid titles I'd recommend.

But to expand, I'll add

Tomato Adventure
Minish Cap
Pokemon LeafGreen
DK: King of Swing
WarioWare: Twisted

I'm sure the first and last are out of the running for a VC release. Maybe the middle as well.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls at the moment. The 2.0 patch really made the game.(Though, I always felt it was a worthwhile play. Not nearly as bad as folks complained it to be)

I booted up Dr. Mario on the Wii U VC yesterday as well. Played around for about 5 minutes then turned it off. It's the still the same I remember it. Still don't care for it.

« on: March 27, 2014, 10:42:19 PM »
I really stopped watching anime in general when I finished high school.

Back when you had to know a guy to get you fan subs. I remember having weird bootlegs of Trigun before they were released domestically.

Not to sound like an ass about it, but I guess it really was a phase I outgrew.

With the exception of Shin chan. I could watch that every day if funimation didn't pull the plug on the US domestic releases.

12
Pokemon Rumble U. If only for the NFC functionality.
Wii Fit U for the connectivity between the Fit Meter and the Gamepad.

Barring those two, I'd go with Game and Wario. I felt they were a better use of the gamepad than NintendoLand, even if the game wasn't as strong as NintendoLand.

Sign me up.

I had sorta lost hope since we hadn't heard much about localization effort, with the exception of that minor mention in the WSJ article.

Solid listing.

With the exception of a few titles, it looks like my GBA library.

While my wallet will be a-okay with it, I hope these aren't the only VC releases next month.

I don't think required major changes would justify the cost on Sega's end. The game was been in development, in some shape or form, since 2006.

This isn't like a Deus Ex situation where there was a good game but it suffered from missteps. And those missteps seem to have been corrected. The currently available versions of Aliens are just garbage. I honestly can't think of another way to describe it.

From various anonymous sources (I know, I know, they are the worst kind), we've been told that the Wii U version was the worst version. I doubt Demiurge interested in actively being associated with the game at this point.

I think to salvage the video game license, Sega had best just clean their hands and walk away from it for the time being. They've produced three titles from the license, with only one of those being standout (Infestation), in about 6 years.

More previews of the upcoming 3DS titles (LEGO, DKCR, and Animal Crossing). Maybe a clearer date for Golf and Mario & Luigi.

And Level-5's Guild02. Toss in a couple of eShop announcements (game-wise, not feature) and I think we're good.

Despite it being 3DS focused, I'm still hoping for a release date for Game & Wario.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: the world of 3DS revisions
« on: April 15, 2013, 03:29:46 PM »
The screen scratches on my launch model made me upgrade to an XL model.

They threatened my wife and children and I was weak.

And the sale price at Target was a plus too.

Joking aside, this was the first time I went for an updated model within the same console family, not out of necessity. And it was largely due to the sale price.

There would have to major, major revisions before I'd even entertain the idea of updating again.

Ceric hit the nail on the head.

The damage to the game had already been done (Though, I don't believe the license is ruined). Even if it were re-tweaked, or maybe its the only playable version, it would still be the butt of many a joke.

And I could do without seeing the yakety sax video again.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Wii U in Review (News & Rumor Consolidation)
« on: February 01, 2013, 02:34:57 PM »
Wall Street Journal is stating they think the PS4 (Next or whatever it's called) is coming this year.

Which wouldn't surprise me. With the exception of GTA 5, there really isn't any other major titles announced for a post E3 release. And with how quickly news travels/is spoiled, most just avoid the whole "surprise e3 announcement"

I could see both Sony and Microsoft pushing the 360 and PS3 to the more casual market this Christmas, and thumping the new set of consoles for the dedicated fan. Squeezing the final bit of blood from the stone. Then slowly push the market towards the new consoles sales (versus pushing 360/PS3 respectively) around E3 2014.

EA said they were happy with the numbers free to play TOR has brought in so far (They cited it, along with Fifa, and Madden Ultimate Team bringing in $185 million). It'll turn a profit. Eventually. If not already.

Observer Newsletter had the info with Jericho and Ryback.

It seemed odd to be honest. Because it basically paints of picture of face Jericho vs heel Ziggler, then Jericho switching to be the heel to Ryback's face.

All in the span of two months? And there's at least two Raw shows he'll be missing due to Fozzy commitments.

It's been drifting around that the Undertaker's appearance isn't a lock any longer. To the point (again rumors), that a Plan B for CM Punk is being drafted.

Which I'm totally fine with at this point. Tossing Punk into a match with the Undertaker at this point makes little sense to me. Punk isn't going to benefit from a rub for breaking the streak or having him lose to the Undertaker won't help Punk's prospects (Unless they're trying to repackage him as a face by gaining Taker's respect...which would be disappointing considering the last 18 months). Losing a third PPV match in a row just doesn't make much sense. Even for him to lose in the same fashion Triple H lost last year. This guy is your number 2 in the company WWE. Unless they're trying to bury at him at this point. Maybe they are. I don't know.

After a short feud, (heel) Jericho is supposed (again rumor) to be gunning for Ryback. Which makes me a sad panda because 1) I've always been a big Jericho fan and 2) Ryback isn't engaging for me at all. And I don't believe that feud will elevate Ryback back up again.

Cena vs Rock II (Twice in a Lifetime I guess?)...I'm not really sure how to feel. It's been shown that Cena really doesn't need a title. Maybe have Ziggler cash in Money in the Bank?

Picked up New Super Mario Bros. U, Sing Party, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge yesterday.

I'm hoping to hold off anything new LEGO City Undercover comes out. I had pre-ordered Heart of the Swarm Collector's Edition but decided to cancel since I only really wanted it for the Warcraft vanity pet. Hopefully a more loyal Starcraft fan will get it now.

My local Target set up their demo unit today. Only videos were accessible, no demos but I was able to actually put my hands on the gamepad.

They also finally got the Lego City pre-order cards (with Chase minifig), though, the cards just had a date of "Coming Soon".
