Nintendo Gaming / Re: Amazing Deals!
« on: July 16, 2009, 01:10:58 AM »
Although this started on Monday, it might be useful to some.

Apparently Hollywood Video is having a sale on its used games. Games that were typically $29.99 are on sale for $4.99(all systems). I personally went out and bought Samba de Amigo, Excite Truck, and Metroid Prime 3 for $16 with tax. Understandably not an "amazing" deal, but if your store is still stocked, there is much money to be saved!

Important In order for the Hollywood Video to be having the same, it must be a store WITHOUT a Gamecrazy inside. Repeat, WITHOUT a Gamecrazy.

When I used to play Call of Duty 1 multiplayer and die after the ridiculously crappy mods came out towards the end of the game's life, I would get angry and slam the mouse multiple times. Eventually the mouse wheel broke off

That's actually really funny. I'm still chuckling about it.

As far as Kaplan leaving, good riddance.

Does Legend of Mystical Ninja have as good a music as Goemon on the N64? Are they related at all?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Internet Channel Updated

Honestly, browsing the web through my Wii isn't that great at all. The news and the weather channels, however, now those are channels that I've actually found myself using. My only gripe is the fact that the Weather channel updates about two or three times a DAY.

You know, I don't mind X-Play at all, the only time I hate it is when they review crap games. Most of the time though, I either like their stuff or at the very least find the content bearable. AOTS, though, is utter trash. While watching Munn is awesome, the whole "live" thing I think doesn't work out too well due to the bad jokes that Pereira tends to try to pull. I hate him.

He's poking fun at your incorrect usage of "there, their, and they're"

Where is Goemon: Mystical Ninja?!?!

Honestly, as of now, the only games I'm waiting for are Goemon: Mystical Ninja and Quest 64. All these crappy releases make me think that neither of these games will ever be released for the VC

Battlefield 2 for the PC records stats on a pretty MASSIVE scale...I never once thought they copied SSBM or MS.

Well, it IS the difference between saving ghosts on your run and actually being able to play the game.

He's a funny dude, but he just depends on shock value of his vocabulary a little too much. Some of his other "reviews" are actually pretty funny.

Does the game pause to show you the explosion of what you just shot every time? That's annoying...

What would one need to major in in College in order to hopefully someday work in the video game industry? As of now I am a History major, but something tells me that isn't what's going to get me in...

If they use the money from VC games towards Wiiconnect24, then, no, Wiiconnect24 isn't free. I paid for it when I got SMB, you paid for it when you got LttP, Joe payed for it when he got Dungeon Explorer. I understand that they need to make money SOMEWHERE, but Nintendo seems to sometimes try to milk us for all we're worth.

As of now, though, I have payed $5 for SMB and can safely say I am totally happy with that purchase. Problem being, though, that I think that's the only game I can say that about.

It's ridiculous how Rogue Squadron has held up against the new consoles in terms of graphics. That game is simply amazing- definitely one of the best looking games on the GC along with RE 4.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wii demand slowing? Or is Gamespot full of crap?
« on: January 20, 2007, 09:02:00 AM »
I went into Gamestop the other day to check out some games and got into a conversation with the manager there. Supposedly Sony has opened up a new production factory (or something like that) here in California. He said he didn't understand though because according to him all of the PS3's they get sit on the shelf for about 2-3 days while the Wii "sells out within 10 minutes".

I know this isn't a thread about PS3 sales vs Wii sales, but can anybody confirm the new Sony factory opening?

Graphically comparable to TW on the PS2? That's terrible. Although I am not a graphics whore, I still can't believe that the Wii is being compared to last generations most inferior system. And no online play? This sucks.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Why not use the Goldeneye control scheme for FPS?
« on: January 08, 2007, 01:14:53 PM »
The problem I see is that FPS's nowadays have you looking up and down a bit more than Goldeneye did. Mapping strafe AND look up and down to the D-pad I don't think would work out. It may have seemed to work well on the N64 controller, but I think that has a lot to do with two things: 1) Like stated above, the lack of need to look up and down and 2) the C-buttons were mapped out a bit further apart than the D-pad on the remote is.

I don't know about you, but FPS's nowadays on consoles have more of a "free" moving feel to them. They seem to replicate what FPS's on the PC have always had in terms of movement. In Goldeneye I felt more like Bond had a stiff neck and had a difficult time looking either left, right, up, or down. But that's just my opinion.

How much you wanna bet they're going to release Super Mario All-Stars, Link to the Past, Wave Race 64, and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron? Those exact four games.
