Nintendo Gaming / What ever happened to Creatures?
« on: February 27, 2004, 10:28:16 AM »
I don't know why, but that game popped up in my head.
I read awhile ago that it was going to be released for the gamecube and gameboy advance, but I guess it got cancelled. Here's some links about it.
I took out the www.'s so they're not automaticly clickable, does that steal bandwith or something?

An old one from planetgamecube

Has some screenshots of the gamecube version.

for that one, press control f and type nintendo, should get you to the main stuff.

In case you never played the game before (all of you), it came out for the PC eight years ago, and was my first computer game i've ever gotten. It was a really fun game, a little confusing for me at the time, but a fun game. You got these eggs that hatched into little creatures which had real DNA in them. You could mate the creatures together, and they'd have eggs which hatched into babies. There were tons of features i can't get into detail about, like you could give them all kinds of items and food, and you actually taught them how to talk, with whatever words you used. If the creature was holding something, you would type the word you'd want to call it, and overtime it would learn it. They also had enemies that would try to attack them, and the world was pretty big and interactive. It had amazing features being a game made in 1996. There's been a few sequels that came out after too, with 3d graphics instead of the traditional 2D.
Well here's the link of the official site for it. gamewaredevelopment.co.uk/games_index.php[/L]

Just wondering if anyone knows what happened to the company making it, or what's going on with it. I think it was removed off the release list, but I never found out why.

EDIT: ALL FIXED. (I think. Can someone verify that?)
I'll work on that last request now.

And here it is. Took awhile to do. Excuse the large window and the fire that doesnt look like fire. And i couldnt find her exactly posing to fight, so i just put her in the car doing the whole fire blast thing.  Webb firing P.N.03

Yeah, i had to go pixel by pixel and get rid of all the white stuff, I put them into adobe and did it that way, but whenever i transfer it back to paint, there's a small border of white around the pics again, that I don't feel like editing out again.

Nice, except I can't read the black writing on blue background real well, might want to change the font to white or yellow.

Here... that one took much too long to make.

I'll just take requests... that's pretty much what this 'game' has come to.

I'm not doing this just for the sake of playing a game, for me, it's to get suggestions to edit photos, which I want to get better at, so I can get practice, and then have people see what i did (explanation for me posting half of all posts on this thread).

I just thought there would be some other photo editors better than me (how can there not be? i just started) who would also participate and I could also learn from (in the form of a game).

Oh well, either let this game die (sadly), or participate in it.

If you want ... find a surfing dog.

There's your fight.

I'll leave the next find open for anyone to choose.
MEANING ANYONE CAN CHOOSE THE NEXT PICTURE TO BE FOUND (people didn't understand that last time i gave that option?)

This good?

And try to make the pic not too hard, so I have to come in and edit one just to keep the game going...
Alright, I'll give a non editor a chance to come up with a picture they want to see, just don't make it too hard.

Probably a different perspective than you expected
I have adobe photoshop, but i find paint makes things easier to edit pixel by pixel. With photoshop, i don't get how to layer and stuff, i use it for shading and making easier backgrounds to put into paint.
Someone else can make a request for the next picture, doesnt matter to me what the next person finds.

Wow, that sure is... evil...
I'm gonna get to work on that one pic you requested, might be awhile.
Don't we have any other photo editors here though? Someone else want to try to make that one?

This isn't a word game, its a picture game. Did you need to notify us of that, though? (don't mean to sound harsh/sarcastic, i'm glad you did find a picture, and participated)
Anyway, keep looking for a flying monkey, everyone.

I've seen this game in other forums, and it's pretty fun.
Not sure if it's allowed here though, delete this if it violates any rules.
It works like this.

I say a picture I'd like to see (can be totally random, like a skateboarding monkey, a fish flying in the sky, a dog riding a bike with cars... etc...), and then someone finds it, and puts the link for it. Then they make a request for a picture they'd like to see, and so on. I recommend using the google image search, thats what i used for the other game. I guess you can photoshop if you want.

Now we can only keep this game going if it stays 'safe' (links have to be legitimate). Thats the only concern i have of this post being deleted. So please give links to the picture requested, and keep things G-rated.

I'll start it off...
Find me a picture of a monkey eating pudding.
(its usually a good idea to make sure a picture actually does exist before you ask for it)
Lets see how long we can keep this game going.

I have a question about it. Theres some spoilers, so stop reading unless you beat the game twice.

Ok, i beat the game, and so did my brother, on the same file. Once you beat it twice, theres supposed to be an alternate ending. Well, my brother beat it after I did, and the only difference was that he didn't have to do that final challenge with Eric (being in easy mode), and just punched him in the face, and got the tape. Is that the alternate ending? Or did we mess up somewhere in overwriting files, or something.
