General Chat / I need some PC technical help...here's what's wrong
« on: June 26, 2003, 07:27:15 PM »
I have a couple problems, I was wondering if you guys could help out...

#1 - Something on my computer isn't running correctly. Whenever I boot up, anything that I open will crash soon after because of SOME program. I know its a program because I can use EndItAll to kill everything, and everything runs perfect. Is there any way to tell what is causing this problem? There is no specific time or cause of these crashes, just that when it is closed, the crashes stop. I don't feel like going through all my running programs, either.. Maybe a program can detect this?

#2 - Some text on the internet is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too small, too small to even read it. I can't find a setting to change web text size, and it was changed by a crash, and sometimes when my browser crashes (IE or AOL) the texts jump around. Any idea how to change THIS!?

I know a lot of you are techies, so thanks for any help.

BTW - I ran a virus check on my entire system just 10 minutes ago, and all it found was a "trojan" in some zip file that had just been sitting there in some desolate folder.  I doubt that hurt anything.  If #1 is not fixed, a format is probably imminent.

Nintendo Gaming / Console Reliability (~82% for all of them)
« on: March 12, 2003, 01:53:31 PM »
If GC is the most reliable...then why did MINE break?

But, if you read my earlier topic, Nintendo was nice enough to give me a free warranty extension.  So no grudge, guys

But my PS2 is whacky, especially with the CD-Based (blue-backed) games.  Doesn't like toread them 1st try, usually takes like 3 to get it to read, except me SharkPort CD...takes even LONGER....like 15...

CALL NINTENDO!!

You'd think they would do nothing to help you, and try to get your $75.00 to fix it...

But I just dropped mine off at an authorized repair center for no charge!

Just a little tip...get a nice guy on the phone, tell him your problem (mine was it couldn't read games correctly), and he might just change your warranty to be longer, so it will be free.

I just wanted to let this be known, so no one (hopefully) will be forced to pay this wretched fee.  BTW, I was only like 3 months over my warranty, so it could be different at later times.
