Nintendo Gaming / RE:Amazing Deals!

ebgames has bge back in stock for $19.99

i think this rumor came along when factor 5 said it had a xbox dev kit, but i think that was more for developing divx codecs for consoles.  Anyways whoever said that putting it out to the ps2 for increased sales is absolutely correct.  I love the gc, but the ps2 will always sell a boat load more than any multplatform gc or xbox game since you are looking at a 50+ mil compared to 10 mil for gc & xbox.  And since when did xbox.ign beat everyone else to knowing the release date of the original trilogy.

i don't know about a zelda fighting game with scII engine, not enough characters,
but if ganondorf was in the game that would be very cool, i love his sword in ww.

Unlike gamestop and eb, bestbuy and circuitcity dont get their games shipped directly to them from nintendo, sony, ms.  They ship them to warehouses then the games get delivered with tv's, stereos, dvds, ect. to the stores usually by semi.  Saves money for them.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Battlefield 1942 For Gamecube!!!
« on: August 24, 2003, 06:55:34 AM »
100 to 200 players, and you can switch??? I dont think you have been playing bf1942.  Its a max of 64 players.  Yes the game was supposed to be ported to the xbox but since ea and ms have been on bad terms and the port was canned so they could work on the expansions (road to rome, and the up coming secret weapons).  Personally I doubt that ea will put the game out on the gamecube for a couple reasons.  First, the lack of internet/online games for the gamecube.  Second, the game requires a lot of graphics/cpu power and I would doubt that even the xbox could really handle it.  Just for reference the game requires a geforce 3, 1.2GHz cpu, and 512MB ram for the game to run smoothly, without serious slowdowns.

Now if EA could pull it off I would hope somehow it would be compatible with the pc version at least.  I also think that this would be a perfect game for launch of the next nintendo console.  It would help nintendo in the online arena and would show Nintendo's interest for online and help get ea sports titles to support online for nintendo platforms.

Nintendo Gaming / Anyone else find it strange ... MGS3
« on: May 10, 2003, 09:37:00 AM »
i doubt it, because nintendo would have to just unload dollars on them to get it probably at the same time as the ps2 version.  ps2 just has a much larger install base, i think up to 4x more than xbox and gc, so it would sell a lot more on the ps2.

Nintendo Gaming / What do you think of IGN's Top 100 games ever?
« on: May 09, 2003, 07:17:11 PM »
i personally loved ff2, ff3 is great but ff2 was ff1 with a more linear path and a very good story.
i am a little confused though, did they bundle games to gether for system, like mario 1-3 and n64 versions of zelda?  Because their list seems a little off.

why are they adding re and rogue squadron, both of those games sell at most places for $20 which is already less than the pc lineup.

uninstall the drivers for it.  plug it in after windows has booted, when it looks for it specify the driver you dl, you also might have to do some config in the joystick menu.

You have to install the driver, downloading is just part of what you need to do with the files.

no, well not really, there is some concern that they can use your comp though for dos (denial of service: aka ping of death) attacks.

well in regards to the camping remarks, i have to say from playing cs from beta 4.0 on that camping tends to ruin the game especially with a gun like the awp which is so clearly the best weapon in the game (my beloved deagle has been castrated with  every release since 1.0 on).  Anyone can easily learn how to use it and with the pistol switch script it makes it to easy to kill.  CS is the only game in which you can run around scoped with a sniper rifle then make a quick stop and have a perfect shot.  If you ever play on servers with extremely good players you will see that majority of people use the awp and colt just because they can kill so easily in almost any situation.

Anyways the main problem with online gaming is that it realy requires high bandwidth to play at an acceptable level for most games.  Until broadband becomes more ubiquitous and modem speed increases there will not be enough people to use it to make a profit from it.  If you look at the xbox most people who use their live service are very experience computer users who also do pc online gaming.  Also if microsoft changes over to a monthly subsription you will see people leave the service quickly.

Nintendo Gaming / What SNES titles should be ported to GBA?
« on: April 28, 2003, 07:46:27 AM »
I would like to see ff2, i loved that game and the other square rpg's
I am suprised that super metroid hasn't been ported yet, maybe they will do it with prime 2
A super tennis port would be nice too, i loved that game.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo and Rare

The company isn't the same as it was during its peak with the n64.  Look at all the companies founded with former employees.  Nintendo probably realized that sony or ms want more franchises and with both were willing to pay more than the actual value for them, along with nintendo having plenty of franchises already.

Nintendo Gaming / we want bonus discs!
« on: April 25, 2003, 03:15:04 PM »
Wasn't there a rumor about f-zero having the bonus disk since they had a dd64 add on for the game.

I would also love a NES classics disk, or a mario classics.

Nintendo Gaming / why dosnt nintendo...
« on: April 25, 2003, 03:12:01 PM »
I would like it if nintendo allowed downloadable content along with tools or converters such that maps and levels could be user created.  If you look at the most popular online games (cs, ut, bf1942) they all benefit from people making levels.  I am sure nintendo and 3rd party people could give out the tools so that a program like worldcraft could be used to make new timesplitters levels and maybe mario kart tracks.
But i agree with nintendo, that if they were alone to setup and run servers themselves that it is too expensive.  I would love to see a mario kart server program such that someone could setup their own server for multiplayer action.

well on the n64 it didn't hurt that it was a release title and that it was one of the first games in the players club.

Nintendo Gaming / Mario Kart Discussion (TALK ABOUT MARIO KART HERE)
« on: April 24, 2003, 04:06:19 PM »
yeah i wish they kept the karts, i really just wanted an updated n64 version but with tons of tracks, with lots of unlockables.  My only 2 beefs with the n64 version is limited tracks and 1 unlockable feature.
