Nintendo Gaming / Castlevania
« on: June 17, 2003, 02:15:58 AM »
I have never played the original castlevania, but have played all three gba versions. (only finished circle the moon).

Its too bad that the ps2 is getting the console port (according to EGM the only reason the dev went with the ps2 is because of the fan base the console has). It would be pretty cool if this was developed for the gamecube. Then possibly we would have a original version of the game if and when you finished the gamecube version. Would be like metroid prime, where you could link the gba to the GC once the GC version was finished and get to play the first metroid.

The only problem with playing at school is that unless I'm in study hall I don't have a long time to play, and when the bell rings I don't want to have to quit and do things all over again, I want to just save.  Also, I need it to be fun and to be something I wont get bored of. So which of the two I said should I choose, or do you have any other suggestions?

Nintendo Gaming / "Game Boy is for 10-year-olds..."

The statements made in that gamespot story are laughable.

Im 31. Im a onsite network/pc technician. Playing games on my cell phone is not an option for me. My cell phone is used for one thing and that is making money by taking care of customers and lining up new clients.

I dont need a dead battery or worn out buttons (from all the gaming) on a device that i rely on to make a living.

Are they actually pitching this nokia n gauge to business people (in which case it would surely flop) or are they trying to get  teen age boys and girls (no offense to the teens on here)  who are signed up on mom and dads family plan? My guess they are hoping to get both markets cornered, which in that case they are in for a rude awakening.

As the previous posters stated, this is a gaming device first and a phone (and a damn poor one at that) second.

Again im 31 and dont have any problem playing my GBA in public places in between work or at jobsites if im not busy.

This statement from nokia is nothing more than a poor and might i add..DESPERATE sales pitch, and the Nguage should be left to the model railroading hobby, or it can join the long list of wannabe competitors that have tried to dethrone the GB/GBC/and GBA so many times before.

Anybody see the videos up on gamespot??

This game looks fairly impressive. Although i question the collision detection in the multiplayer demo stream. It appears that when you are hit by an enemy, the only indication that youve been hit is that your character blinks.  This includes being punched, getting hit by barrels and even getting hit by a jeep that has been thrown at you.

 your thoughts??

Nintendo Gaming / Gameboy Advance SP extra batteries???
« on: March 01, 2003, 01:32:39 AM »
They are predicting 500 recharges or 3 years. From the video press release i saw the unit must be sent back to Nintendo or one of there factory service centers.

I dont think they are going to make changing the battery that easy. It may even be soldered onto the pcb for all we know (anybody with an import SP open it yet??)

What i would like to see is a powersupply fot the SP that is totally independent from the battery charger circuitry, but seeing how nintendo is claiming that you can play while charging the battery, that doesnt seem to be the case.
