Seriously...where is The Wizard?  As silly as I'm sure it was, I want to see it again!

See, I suppose I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum here.  Super Metroid was just "okay/pretty good" for me, whereas Metroid Prime feels like complete idea.  Super Metroid probably would have been a better experience for me, if it weren't for all the times where I just had NO idea what to do next.  Everything felt too "assumed" to me, and I really don't like when games keep a habit of doing that.  I definitely like it, and I get why other people would as well, but it just doesn't work for me on the same level as Metroid Prime.  *shrug*

IMO the only "problem" with Metroid Prime is something like what Denis Dyack said about Eternal Darkness; it's probably a bit too subtle for a lot of gamers.   It's really one of those "get it/don't get it" games, in regard to the underlying feeling of everything.

Hmm, was the yellow magick binding back evil or was it there to hinder your progress?  Or both?  I wish I could explain further, but I haven't played the game in awhile.

I'm still not too clear on what Pious' ultimate role was in everything.  If my theory is anywhere close to the truth, then perhaps he was trying to prevent the greater evil of Mantorok from being released in the world.  To do this, he may have had to go to greater lengths than he may have wanted (hence only a warning at first to the girl in the second chapter).  To me, it seems like he was playing both sides of the gods in order to come to a resolution.  Playing evil against evil.  But why couldn't he just explain this to them?  Maybe he was afraid the gods would start to realize his plan...?

I think Mantorok wanted the characters to believe that what they were doing was for the best, but actually they were just helping to free him.  It's fairly obvious that Mantorok was guiding them.  I think we really got a glimpse at the end of Alex sort of realizing that what they have been doing may have just been opening a door to unleash a greater evil.  Could this be a possible reason why her family's name is "savior" spelled backwards?

I really hope I'm explaining this right because I'm sort of working it out in my head.  There are a bunch of other theories I have that would tie to this, but I'm not very good at explaining things off the top of my head.  If I had the game here, I could explain it in MUCH better detail.  (I'm so confused this way!)    Like I said earlier if my theory is anywhere close to the truth, I will anticipate pretty much EVERY game SK works on.  Seriously.

Hey PGC guys, thank you very much for going that extra mile with the audio (on both sides)!  Good stuff!

Ah, Metroid Prime...the Susan Lucci of videogames.

I'm not upset about the results, but they do seem quite shocking.  Seriously, is anybody else confused why MP won First Person Action Game of the Year, but BF1942 won Overall Game of the Year?  Just my opinion, but that seems...backwards.  That said, I think all of the developers should be very proud of their achievements, as we look forward to seeing more from them in the future.

PS.  Way to go Animal Crossing and Eternal Darkness!  Where can I find the complete list of winners?

Nintendo Gaming / No Mafia for cube

From what I've heard from one of the guys at Remedy (Max Payne) on the 3DRealms boards, it seems to be quite difficult to successfully port DirectX games to the GC.  That seems to be the only reason why GC never got Max Payne, and it very well may be true in the situation with Mafia as well.

Nintendo Gaming / Metal Gear Solid for GameCube

True or not, I personally would prefer a remake of the original Metal Gear.  Many people missed out on that boat, and it would be interesting to see it in it's fully realized.  Well, I think it would certainly be a more interesting remake than MGS.  I loved the game, but I don't see the point in remaking it, unless there were some major ideas that were left out.

Sure, RE was remade, but that game really benefited from the atmosphere that's possible with this generation of consoles.  I don't see how that would relate to MGS.  That said, I'd still buy the game as I never owned the original.
