Actually they do praise Nintendo, but they also point out their shortcommings.  They have this gaming geezer column where they praise the goodness of zelda and some gba games.  Also F-Zero is on the newest cover, Windwaker also made a cover as well.

I once had that problem, I wonder if that could have fixed it.  Sounds like a useful guide for someone not willing to send there GCN in.  Although it probably voids your warranty.

General Gaming / RE:What exactly IS a game engine?

Half-Life is built off of the origional Quake engine.

Thanks a lot for the advice.  And one more question, how's the quality?  Would it be as good as me just getting like a 27 inch Philips with s-video?

I tried to research this but I'm getting frustrated.  I have the chance to get a 46" Sony big screen for under a hundred dollars.  I just wanted to know if playing videogames on it would damage it.  Exactly how long does an image have to be on the screen for it to get "burnt"?

Nintendo Gaming / Super Mario Advance 4

I have the cartridge, and I'd like to say that this game is VERY GBPlayer friendly.  The sound is great for it, and looks better than allstars.

Nintendo Gaming / Turok Evolution for FREE

Heh, I bought it for 8.99 in Gamestop just the other.  The game has its ups and downs, though I would say it was worth my 9 bucks.  I could aslo see how you have no time to play it with those killer loading times

Just played the DC version is DAMN, too much loading....Station square is confusing, better off with just straight levels.

I'm pretty sure the old Timesplitters 2 topic had like 1500 posts, on EZ board you could only go up to 500 posts per thread so there were 3 parts.

Did you at least try calling Nintendo, sometimes they'll fix it even if your warranty is up...

General Gaming / RF cables
« on: May 29, 2003, 06:00:37 PM »
Well I wouldnt recomend using RF cables, unless that's you're only choice.  Any RF cable that is designed to work with the GCN will do, but Nintendo's will give a better picture.  3rd parties aren't as high in quality, hence the cheaper price.

Nintendo Gaming / Thanks for nothing Nintendo!!!(Zelda 4 Swords)
« on: May 17, 2003, 06:20:57 PM »
This would be a great title to start Nintendo with online gaming.  Has anyone here ever played Graal, it was like an online Zelda.  Though I'm not sure if it's still around.

Nintendo Gaming / Does the SP light work good?
« on: April 21, 2003, 08:21:56 PM »
The light works great.  Though unlit, it's worse than the GBA.

Nintendo Gaming / damn Dust under SP screen!!
« on: April 10, 2003, 06:38:43 PM »
Dust can't get in or out, if it's there it's from the production process.  I've sent mine in as well, and Nintendo pays for the shipping.

Nintendo Gaming / Scratched GBASP!!
« on: April 10, 2003, 06:31:21 PM »
The GBA SP's screen is sealed, a rep at Nintendo told me, so you can't get anything stuck inside.  I'm really not to worried about getting my SP scratched as long as the screen doesn't.  I think I'm gonna get a screen protector to put over the real one, because the SP's screen is non-replaceable like all the previous GB's.  Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't use the SP as a hockey puck, but scratches are unavoidable.

Nintendo Gaming / floppy sp lid?
« on: April 04, 2003, 07:35:41 PM »
You wouldn't pay for shipping if you are under warranty.. Which we all are since, it's only been out a few weeks.  I'd say keep it, if it gets worse, then call up the Nintendo help line.

Nintendo Gaming / Just bought my 2nd Cube

Why not just call the Nintendo help line?  It's not normal for a GCN to just die.

Nintendo Gaming / GBA SP problems
« on: March 31, 2003, 05:23:21 PM »
I had the same problem, a service rep at Nintendo said it happens.  His advice to me was to play for a week or two, it may/may not go away.  If the problem persists, and is preventing my enjoyment in anyway, to send it in and get it fixed free of charge.

I agree, at first I was anti war.  But now I think it's necessary.  I just can't wait 'till this is all over and done with.

I concur (sp).  With all of you, game will probably be great, but I hate when it takes a while to get moving.

I like that idea.  Like in the special ending it says (SPOILER) that all the gods killed themselves simultaneously.  Which leaves Mantorok, or another higher being to be at power.

Interesting note.  It looks like Eternal Darkness' recent award, and maybe Rick's article has bumped up Eternal Darkness in the Gamefaqs GCN list back into the top 10.
