that controller says "iQue" right in the center. how could that be a Rev controller?

*sigh* again, I said it was a fake. We all know this is a fake, I only posted it for laughs. Someone posted it at another forum as a fake rev pic so I just thought I'd bring it here.

Anyway, the touch pad controller (if real) could end up being mainly for Backwards combatability and maybe most games will use the old GCN controllers as the standard. Who knows, but I think this thing could have alot potential.

Whoa, I was just saying I had a feeling it might be real and that it was a very good fake if isn't. Do I like the design? not particularly. Do I think that the rev controller could be something similar to this? Perhaps....

I posted a pic of the X360 controller at another forum (the same one up at GAF) and everyone said it was fake for sure, so I thought I was wrong. Turned out that it was the actual controller. I guess that's why I wasn't so quick as to shrug this off as a fake for sure. Compared to all the other fake rev controller pics I've seen this seems like the best.
here is a different one I've found (N64xDC) >_<.

Nintendo Gaming / I have a feeling this might be the Rev controller

Some very interesting images has been posted at the Nintendo power forums.

I have a feeling that this might be real. If this is real it will most likely be similar to the universal remote advertised by Radioshack all the time,You program it for a VCR, DVD player, or stereo system and the necessary controls for each light up on the remote. It seems logical because it would have to be backwards compatible for many consoles. This also goes along with what Reggie said about the controller;

If you put those controllers all lined up together they're all very different. So think about what kind of device is going to allow you to play all those different types of games"

I'm still uncertain, this is the best fake rev controller I've seen so far (if fake).

How is Nintendo's method any different?

Well at least Nintendo's method still involves games. I think games like Nintendogs and Electroplankton are a much better way to do it then just adding Digi-cam and MP3 (expensive) extras.

"The PlayStation [3] is not a game machine. We've never once called it a game machine," stated Kutaragi at the beginning of his latest interview.

"The PS3 is the product we have been aiming for since the establishment of SCEI," said Kutaragi. "We haven't been creating our [past] PlayStations for the sake of games. Our belief, and the motivation behind running our company, has been to [explore ways of] applying the power of computers to entertainment and enjoyment. We equipped the original PlayStation with a 3D graphics chip, and we equipped the PS2 with the Emotion engine. The PS3 isn't designed to lean towards games. It's not a computer for children.

Oh this is sad... so very sad.... I don't think gaming should go this way.... I'm beginning to think that another crash is more and more inevitable. We've been hearing about it for years, it happened once (1983) it can happen again.

General Gaming / RE:Console or PC??

I'd much rather play on a console then a PC. MMORPGs are good on PCs, but I still prefer it on a console, it feels more like a "game" that way.

I'm certain the industry can handle 5 game machines. It's basically the same as it is now, three home consoles and a two handhelds. So don't worry.

And "free standard online gaming" ha, I doubt that'll never happen. They use that monthly fee to maintain the servers I believe.

"I don't need any of the functions of a PC in my gaming machine like dvd playback. The purpose of the game console is to be a stripped down computer that is cheap and soley plays games."
I agree with you 100% on that though.

No voice acting

Clothed characters
Fun gameplay
Good artwork

Considering their recent games, having all this in a single game is like a wish come true.

Very well said, I agree completely lol *shudders at thought of FFX-2*

General Gaming / RE:PS3 launch games list
« on: December 08, 2003, 10:34:21 AM »
If the PS3 launch is anything like the PS2 launch then it's over for Sony. The PS2 had hardly any launch titles, the only reason for it's sucess was because it had the word "Playstation" in it's title and there was no competition.

I do not think they will be so lucky this next gen.

I agree with everyone else on this, DVD playback would just be a waist. Most people who are going to shell out the $200 or $300 for a game console has most likely already purchased a DVD player, or a console with a DVD player.

I think most people wouldn't think of it as a bonus, but more as paying for something they don't need.

It's weird, GbtG doesn't even seem like Rare's style of games. I guess that's because most of the old staff is gone.

Oh well, @ least now we know we're not missing out on anything since we lost Rare.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:DBZ Budokai 2?

I really hope we do get DBZ: Budokai 2 on GCN. The first one was a pretty good game, nothing too great but still worth the $30 in my opinion.

Nintendo Gaming / The new Pokemon Game for GCN
« on: February 16, 2003, 07:15:24 PM »
I don't know, An online Pokemon game would be pretty cool, but with online gaming comes hacking and Lag. I always thought Pokemon was cooler than that. But of course the way pokemon is set up would make the perfect online game. And of course this is Nintendo we're talking about^^ PSO was done perfectly on the GCN!! So there's little doubt in my mind that it would be a bad online game.

I just hope it can connect with Ruby and Saphire^_^
