Thanks. I have figured it out - you have to hit the button after the race starts. Just wish I could save after a particular track and not have to complete the whole circuit or nothing.

I know this game has an autosave feature but I seem to be experiencing some problems.

Once I start a Grand Prix circuit, it won't let me stop. Pushing the Start button doesn't have any effect - I don't get a pause menu. Basically, I have played until my fingers are numb then I quit. When I restart there is no sign of any progress. I am forced me to restart from the first track. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
