Which pretty much guarantees I'm not buying it.

Then again, I didn't buy the MM9 DLC either. C'est la vie.

I, Shaymin, do solemnly swear not to cheat by looking up robot master order, boss weaknesses, or hidden item locations.  I vow to complete the game on Normal either unassisted or--if that fails--with the help of fellow NWR members.  Modern gaming has not softened my reflexes, patience or determination.

I had to resort to a walkthrough for MM9 and I felt emasculated.

I might've missed it since I was watching the Olympic closing ceremony at the same time, but Earthbound doubled the controls - L=A and Select=B - specifically to allow for 1-hand play. They even call this out in the strategy guide.

10. My Pokémon Ranch (Nintendo, WiiWare) – $2,000,000 ($10.00)
 <P>

So why don't they release the Platinum (or I guess a HG/SS version) upgrade for it?

Will there be a lot of discussion about the Media Summit this week or will the Player One Newscast be handling that?

RIP Mr. Beaumont

Though you wouldn't expect this from a company executive. How old was he?

My copy of the game just arrived via UPS.  Just so you guys have fair warning, before you can even install the game you have to download a 226 MB patch.

Am I the only person who gets ticked off when they have to patch in stuff day 1?

PC gaming isn't dead, we just have dedicated PCs that get hooked to big TVs now.

I'm setting my expectation at Reggie lighting a cigar with a wad of $100 bills as the entire summit.

This way, I'm not disappointed no matter what comes out of this.

The Jirachi unlocks a new area for the PokeWalker that has some rare/special Pokemon in it, and also comes with a move it couldn't learn previously (Draco Meteor).

Although the Pichu can go jump off a cliff for all I care. I'm only getting it for cloning/redistribution purposes.

Right?

I just sent it back to the non-unionized Canadian equivalent to Gamefly recently - was in the mood for a DS RPG and as a raging Chrono Trigger fanboy you've got me with Mitsuda music and a Kato plot.

Without spoiling anything, it doesn't do anything new or exciting with the genre but I enjoyed the plot enough to see it through to the end of the game. Also, the boss battles get REALLY cheap when they start getting 6-7 turns in a row and get to use their super move with a 45-second cutscene twice in a row. And you can't skip the battle cutscenes (though you can skip the story stuff if you want to).

Also, be ready to use sleep mode a lot because there's a lot of times where you'll want to save but the heal/save points are two areas away. It happened to me at least four or five times in a file that I finished in 25 hours (probably 30 with all the times the battery died in sleep mode while I slept or was working).

Activision about to challenge Pokemon
....and on it's own turf.
Quote
Activision is to release video games based on the Gogo's Crazy Bones franchise after agreeing an exclusive licensing deal, CVG can reveal.
Personally, I've never heard of it, but I am also not the intended audience for this am i?

I'm in the same boat, but I'm pretty sure this will bomb. Like it or not, a lot of these Mon games that aren't Pokemon bomb - only Fossil Fighters has charted, and that was once in a low month. If they get anywhere near the release of the 5th gen games it's going to get DESTROYED.

Remember Spectrobes?

Mario-Peach-Geno here. Like it or not, Mario with the Lazy Shell (weapon) is still the best physical attacker in the game, Peach is still the best healer, and I'm able to time Geno Boost for the defense+attack buff every time on everyone.

The games this week (surprised TYP didn't post this as usual):

Goldeneye 007 (N64)
Shatterhand (NES)
Mario Paint (SNES)
Zoda's Revenge: Star Tropics II (NES)
Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers (NES)

I got 2/5 this week, and it's the two I owned. Also, Dragonforce done in Mario Paint is extremely awesome for some reason.

So I'm throwing in the towel on 30 jumps. For whatever reason, I can't get past 21. Truly, this is a sign that I have no rhythm.

---

My first RPG was the double-header of Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, but Mario RPG was the only game I ever stayed up all night playing. I wore out the original strategy guide that I rented for the game (should've just bought the bloody thing).

Did someone mention forward compatibility for Wii downloads that can be accomplished without me crating up the two systems and shipping them to NOA?

Because that's at the top of my priority list. I've bought a second Wii's worth of WiiWare/VC stuff and if it can't be transferred I'm quitting console gaming.

I'll give it a shot as soon as the last episode is released and Big the Cat is confirmed to not appear in any of them.

If the series TTSF (Time To ****ty Friends) isn't infinite though, no sale.

You have to charge tax if you have operations in a state, IIRC.

Or you're shipping to New York.
