I know what you mean with the lost potential, i was thinking the same thing. I mean, this stage could have taken us from the cannon to the Heavy Lobster to Dyna Blade or under the ship where theres wind blowing you back as the level scrolls forward etc

Well...maybe not all those things at once but you get the picture

Or maybe I'm just being too critical because Kirby Superstar is my #1 Favorite game of all time

Just...wow.....so the reason for all those musicians finally comes clear. Holy crap though, Sakurai is really making this his ultimate masterpiece. I really cant remember any other game being this...massive.

Hype meter is broken cause Brawl just WTFPWND it

Oh wow, cant believe I didnt catch this before...

If you look closely you can see mario with his cape, just a confirmation that its still there...phew.  If you want to see it for yourself look at the part of the E3 trailer right before metaknight is shown and keep your eye on Mario. Sorry if this was already confirmed :P

Hey guys, as stated I am a noob when it comes to HDtv stuff. I just picked up Metroid Prime 3 and want to play it on my new HD Widescreen TV. The question is what do I need to start playing it in HD? I know of the component cables you can get for the wii, but other than that, is there anything else I actually need to get for my TV for it to work? And what's HDMI all about? Like i said....noob :P

I'd appreciate any help I can get! Thanks in advance!

Hey, before I go and play Prime 3 today, can anyone give me a rundown on what the story is so far from Prime to Prime 2? I beat the first one but never played through prime 2. So I really have no clue about Dark Samus and all that junk.

Thanks in advance

I love how the model of the curry is tilted in 3D in a way to make it look like it did in 2D (Bill's pic)

Stickers will be a worthy update to the game as long as they also include lots of old forgotten classic ones as well. And if not...well you could really just flip through NWR's game artwork for every game and get the same stuff. Sadly though, it does look like they will be replacing trophies. The assist trophies already justify that.

NWR Feedback / I miss you
« on: February 22, 2007, 04:22:47 AM »
Hey, just wanted to tell you guys that I really miss the staff comments at the end of the news articles. It was always something that made this site unique and just more interesting. To go along with that, the comments at the bottom of the screenshots were always fun too. Any chance of them making a return?

Yea, the biggest surprise in reading everything was definitely that the Wii name wasnt jumping and screaming out on the top of the list in bold, underlined, and italicized text.  I never complain, but bad call there, thats a no brainer.  I would actually flip the order of that list. Other than that, nice job. Maybe reader votes for 2007? Or possibly reader votes followed by staff votes? That would be interesting.

TalkBack / RE:REVIEWS: Red Steel
« on: December 01, 2006, 04:56:20 AM »
Yea I definitely agree that if Red Steel didn't have Wii control, it would be a horrificly bland FPS. Also you can easily tell that ubisoft wasnt ready to put this game on the shelves. There are so many different glitches and unfinished mechanics that make me wonder if this game had any testing at all. However, I do like the game and I think everyone should try and get their hands on it. Sure its a horrible game but its the first shot at Wii FPS control and just to experience that is all worth it to me.

Your impressions sound exactly how I felt the first 20 minutes of playing it. After that though, I had a hard time putting the controller down. At least for me, once I really got used to the controls, it was a blast. I must agree though, the game does seem rushed and unfinished. I've noticed a few glitches here and there like when this guy came into the room, started shooting at me, and then suddenly froze and went into the default animation frame ( arms and legs straight out ). Even with the glitches, I find it really appealing since its the first shot at Wii FPS controls. Its not perfect but its still an awesome experience.

Yea, I was messing around with different gradients so much that I lost focus. When its desaturated it a bit it looks much better.

I really think you have a great design on your hands that only needs a little tweaking. There are so many great things working on NWR its unbelievable. The displayed time since the article was made, the new image viewer, the categorizing of everything, and not to mention the amazing improvement on the reviews pages. I have to applaud everyone who worked on this for putting so much time and passion into something purely voluntary. I think that all of these features will bring in a much wider range of people to the site but at the same time, I can see some of the aesthetic qualities throwing people off.

Like I said, I really do think you have a great design. It just looks a bit unfinished. The most noticeable part of this is how little separation there is between different sections of the page. The gradient on the top is a great start, but I think more of that could be implemented to further this. The 3 flash boxes are also a great addition but seem a little lonely compared to the rest of the non flash site. Again, just more of this would be great. The last thing I'll say is that the brand new name of the site, Nintendo World Report, should take up much more room on the page. I think its such a great, strong name that needs to be a much more powerful part of the site.

I made an example of some of the things I talked about, along with some of the suggestions we've all talked about recently which you can find here...

I would love to know what everyone thinks, what you think works, doesnt work, and maybe we can solidify some of our concerns for the best Nintendo site on the planet.

Also, I just want to make it clear that I am in no way trying to push anything on the staff or telling anyone what to do. These are purely just ideas I'd like to share with everyone. After all, it is a forum.

I like it. especially the new image viewer, really nice guys. My only complaint would be how the whole pure white scheme clashes with the crazy colorful ads on the top and right.  How bout NWR only accepting white ads? ;D

Really though, awesome job guys. It'll be the first site I visit this Sunday
