Nintendo Gaming / Commercials

Oh ya, you can view the commercial here

Click on 'squares'

If that had a gamecube at the end and some techno music that would rock.

Has anyone seen the commercial that flashes a bunch of square objects many times per second, like picture frames, tvs, almost anything you can think of that's square (or a cube), and at the end it has a Volkswagen Beetle or something?  That would have been an ingenious commercial for Gamecube I think.

Thanks for the video.  Damn it looks awesome.  I wanna play it now!

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo and Rare
« on: April 27, 2003, 02:04:38 AM »
I was just thinking about Rare and how it wasn't fair of Nintendo to say Rare made only such and such a % of profits for those years.  Rare had Dinosaur Planet and then Nintendo asked them to change it all into the Starfox universe.  It takes time.  I know it doesn't really matter now.  I don't know, it's 7am and I'm rambling....

In the 4 player screenshot, it's cool how when Mario lightnings everyone, the guys on the back are hanging on for dear life. That's just so perfect.

I dunno the karts from MK64 aren't even memorable in my mind and I've probably played the game thousands of times.  I've only seen these vehicles today and they stand out in my mind.

This might be better as one place for all topics on Mario Kart Double Dash.

I know this is far from official news but it's interesting anyway.  Mario Kart finished?  With a release date of July 1st in Europe?  Probably not but hey.

Nintendo Gaming / Bug in GC Red Faction II?
« on: April 11, 2003, 10:37:54 AM »
I've tried this on 2 seperate discs. When one shot kill is on in deathmatch if you try to change the weapon the game freezes, every single time. And it uses a default gun you didn't specify, only in one shot kill.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Haha 2005?  No you must be mistaking that with Perfect Dark on XBox.

You're joking, right?

Remember, all that was an April Fool's Day Joke too.  We have no idea how/if LAN will be implemented.

UPDATE!

Nintendonow confirmed that both the Character List and the LAN/Online interview were both April Fool's Jokes, but not by them, by Gamecubecafe.

That sounds more realistic to me. I don't want a gigantic cast with a bunch of low named Mario characters.

Didn't SSBM have about 25 characters?  Why is 30 so difficult to believe?

Mario Kart 64: 8 players
Mario Tennis: 16 players
SSBM: ~25 players
Mario Kart GC: 30 players?

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

It's pretty reliable.  They have the same stories as the other sites, sometimes beating them by hours.  I just hope it's not an April Fool's Joke, but the date is March 31st on the site.

I'd like to see 200cc, 300cc, or even 500cc races.  Bowser's Castle was always fast, it would be fun to push the envelope of speed.

I'd also like to see LAN capability.  If you could hook up 2 gamecubes and 2 tvs up and play 8 players in one place, that would be decent enough.

Hostile Creation:  The Nexus is fake, take a look at the green light, it shines through the plastic, that's not possible.  It's photoshopped.

Wipe from the inside out, turn your hand a bit, repeat until you go all the way around the cd.   NEVER IN A CIRCULAR MOTION.   NEVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I posted this elsewhere but I'll post it here too:

I'm 28 and I'm a gamer til I die. If anything I'll always play games like Mario Kart, Quake Series, Timesplitters Series, but I'll play any game.  And a bunch of friends and I who are at least 28, get together once or twice a week to play the hell out of Timesplitters 2, and we play Quake 3/Serious Sam a lot online.  The Atari/NES generation of players will never stop playing games.
