Star Wars is doing the same thing. Honestly I'd rather all their animation projects exist in their Marvel Animated Universe.

If they want to tell more stories I wouldn't mind more one shots or live action tv series.

Flashpoint is only worth 1 or two episodes at max. The universe is still a bit too small to have any major revisions to the universe. Off the top of my head I see

The particle accelerator wouldn't been created for another five years and the explosion wouldn't have made any Meta Humans.
Team Arrow would have been killed by Slade Wilson with Ollie killed by Solomon Grundy.
The League of Assassin's and Slade's Army goes to War in Starling.
Firestrom would have been made but it would have been a government backed hero.
The Atom would be much Darker hero and fighting both sides in Starling.
Taskforce X would be a publicly known super team.

The Flash/Shield power hour is so so good.

It makes sense, in the 90s series for the flash his Trickster had a ton of shades of the Joker. Honestly this is how I would play up an Older Joker for the DCU movies.

I've been thinking about what they can do next. If Barry does indeed save his mom it would cause a big shift in universe that would be more logical than the comics flashpoint. If Barry's mom never dies than Slade would have taken over Star City. Ray Palmer as the Atom would be a much darker character. Cold and Heatwave would still have their weapons but their wouldn't be a flash or Firestorm to fight them.

He is finally done and has pre-emptively put to shame whatever JJ is going to throw up.

Far more Star Wars than the prequels and Rebels combined.

Eh the actual framing is off forth star fights which ahs something that has been consistent for majority of the series. Also the series has never been about Graphic death imo.

55
that is why when EA got the license, i was like "ah **** that"

Why, I'm pretty sure it would be the same if it were Lucasfilm making the games. I mean the whole reason why they gave EA the lsience was so they could have major control of the games that are made without internal development.

56
So EA confirmed that the Platforms for Star Wars Battlefront will be PC/PS4/Xbox One.

Here's the description to Star Wars: Dark Disciple.
Quote
Based on unproduced scripts from the blockbuster TV show Star Wars: The Clone Wars!

The only way to bring down the dark side’s most dangerous warrior may be for Jedi and Sith to join forces.

In the war for control of the galaxy between the armies of the dark side and the Republic, former Jedi Master turned ruthless Sith Lord Count Dooku has grown ever more brutal in his tactics. Despite the powers of the Jedi and the military prowess of their clone army, the sheer number of fatalities is taking a terrible toll. And when Dooku orders the massacre of a flotilla of helpless refugees, the Jedi Council feels it has no choice but to take drastic action: targeting the man responsible for so many war atrocities, Count Dooku himself.

But the ever-elusive Dooku is dangerous prey for even the most skilled hunter. So the Council makes the bold decision to bring both sides of the Force’s power to bear—pairing brash Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos with infamous one-time Sith acolyte Asajj Ventress. Though Jedi distrust for the cunning killer who once served at Dooku’s side still runs deep, Ventress’s hatred for her former master runs deeper. She’s more than willing to lend her copious talents as a bounty hunter—and assassin—to Vos’s quest.

Together, Ventress and Vos are the best hope for eliminating Dooku—as long as the emerging feelings between them don’t compromise their mission. But Ventress is determined to have her retribution and at last let go of her dark Sith past. Balancing the complicated emotions she feels for Vos with the fury of her warrior’s spirit, she resolves to claim victory on all fronts—a vow that will be mercilessly tested by her deadly enemy . . . and her own doubt.

According to Making Star War Disney and Paramount have reached a deal where Disney won't talk about  Star Wars Rouge One until after Summer 2015 because of the name similarties to Mission impossible Rouge Nation.

Also from Making Star Wars, a live action Star Wars TV series in development, but its probably a few years off a Lucasfilm needs to get scheduling down so they can use Pinewood all year round and reuse sets from the films for the TV Series. So We probably won't get the series until Late 2016 or 2017 so far.

57
I'm not sure, Battlefront is skipping the last gen platforms so I could see it missing the Wii U as well.

58
Well Abrahams went to the guy who played Wedge and he declined. I could see him coming back for a role that isn't a glorfied cameo though.

Some new Star Wars news.

Here's the promo cover to Star Wars Journey to the force awakens by Phil Noto. The title of the books is shattered empire though no writer or artist was given.

mm
The writer of Star Wars: Aftermath has been been announced as Chuck Wendig.

The composer for Star Wars: Rouge One is Alexandre Desplat.

EA wannounced that they will be at celebration next month so expect a blow out of Battlefield all next month.

I played with a Nexus 6 yesterday and my upgrade is ready in may. My nexus 4 is on its last legs with poor battery life and the charging port is starting to go out so i've been using a wirless charging pad at home.

Now I wonder should I go with the Nexus 6 or instead get one of the mid range moto phones off contract and stick in out another 5-6 months until the nexus line is refreshed.

Right now its Awatar IPA and the Atwater Vanilla Java Bean flavor. I also enjoy shorts beer company and Arcadia Bay. Any Michigan Beer I typically like.

For when I have company over I tend to buy a case of PBR for them to drink instead of my expensive craft beers.

Apple's marketing has made people start to think less options equal a better experience. Two things that sort of irk me, is Apple pushing wireless so much when none of they're phone or Tablets has wirless charging. i'm also surprised there's no Touch ID on the new macs.

General Chat / Re: Um, Apple thread
« on: March 11, 2015, 11:34:45 PM »
The new Macbook is a waste of a product line. It's a **** computer attached to a beautiful screen that is too expensive. They could have simply updated the Air, a far more competent computer, with a Retina display and it would continue to be the greatest laptop of all time.

I have no idea what they were thinking. And now this has me concerned that instead of making the Air a more capable yet still very transportable laptop, they'll make it stupid light and stupid dumb for no god damn reason.

Its the iosfication and streamlining of their Mac brand of products. Many users don't mind how simple todays tech can be. I have a friend who bought an Ipad for his photography work and uses the SD card reader adapter. It also helps that a lot of people especially the average non apple Power user is pushing toward cloud and wireless pretty quickly.

Its not just from a hardware level but Apple has killed off most of their power user apps and have simplified all their apps, and left all their pro apps with the exception of Final Cut to die.

That said the Macbook is a  damn good looking machine, and apple is banking on how sexy it looks and the color schemes too sell the device which it will. Expect this to replace the Macbook Air within the year and their just be two products in the Macbook line. The Macbook which needs expensive add-on's for ports and the expensive Macbook Pro which will be at a premium.

Apple wants to be a lifestyle/Luxury brand and its evident by their current product line and look. They're great looking products but apple has given up any protest of wanting the lower end of the market. (which ironically would do much more to push Healthkit and Researchkit forward).

As for your talk of beefing of the Air, my guess is that was their initial plan plan was to beef up the Air and have it be the flagship model, however once the 5c flopped Apple backtracked and went another route. If the 5c would have been the successful my guess if we would have gotten a plastic multi-color macbook for $799-$899 to complement their product line.

I'm mostly surprised that we didn't get any major update on the Apple TV.

So thoughts on this week's big apple News.

Apple TV is $69 and has exclusive HBO NOW for the next three months.

Research Kit is a thing and is OPEN SOURCE!

Apple Watch is coming out, and apple failed to show any compelling reason for it outside of the fitness features and passive stuff.

Plus the new Macbook.

I want a series where Daredevil fights off the horrors of Gentrification.

Daredevil is looking really good, the only shame is its going to cause Marvel to Forgo the really cool somewhat lighthearted book for some more the usual miserable Murdock.

It bums me out that Supergirl won't be apart of the Arrowverse.

Speaking of which
http://tvline.com/2015/03/08/arrow-flash-spinoff-series-cast-rip-hunter-fury/

The descriptions of the three never on the silver scene heroes.
Quote
“THE TRAVELER” | Described as a “Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.
My guess for the The Travler is Rip Hunter, a pulpy Hero who has the ability to travel through time and works with Booster Gold. http://www.adamarnold.net/riphunter/rip2.jpg
Quote
“FEMALE WARRIOR”This twentysomething Latina is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior — so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others

The Obvious thinking is this is Fury the Daughter of Wonder Woman, but digging the description sounds more like Rose and Thorn an Anti-hero who suffers from multiple personalities

Quote
“MYSTERY HERO”An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations

Probably Black Lightning but I hope they keep the fact that his day job is being a school teacher.

I'll probably grab the 640 to replace my aging Nexus 4 and to hold me over until the W10 flagship phones launch.

Microsoft also showed off more of the Universal apps platform at the conference and expanded upon it with a blog post.
http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/03/02/a-first-look-at-the-windows-10-universal-app-platform/

The next Windows 10 preview update will be adding Spartan browser so i'll be looking forward to playing with that.

Some stuff from the Xbox front.

Last eek Microsoft announced that Fable Legends for ONE/PC ould be a free to play game and use a method similar to Killer Instinct and League of Legends. The character selection rotates out a free selection and you can outright buy those that you want.

Quote
How much will Fable Legends cost?

Fable Legends will be free-to-play on Windows 10 PCs and free-to-play with Gold on Xbox One. This means you’ll be able to download the game on either system and play through it beginning-to-end without having to spend any money.*

Why have you decided to make Fable Legends Free to Play?

We want to open the exciting world of Fable to more players, and we see free-to-play as a great way of doing that.

Are all of the quests and storylines also free?

Absolutely! The story can be played beginning-to-end for free.

Are the Heroes free?

There will always be a set of Heroes available to play for free. The Heroes on free rotation will be available for everyone to play for a set period of time.

How will Hero rotation work?

A set of Heroes will be available to play for free for a limited time, after which a new set of Heroes will take their place. This gives you the chance to play every Hero in the game for free over time, and any progress made on a Hero will be kept until they come back into rotation.

If you want permanent access to Heroes outside of free rotation, you’ll be able to earn them through gameplay, or purchase them for real money.

Do players who pay have an advantage over those who don’t?

No. You’ll be able to earn everything that affects gameplay.

How does customisation work?

You will be able to customise any Hero! From outfits through to hair colour and different faces, you’ll have an abundance of choices open to you.

Customisations will be unlocked either with earned in-game silver, or by purchasing them. Some cosmetic items – that change your look but don’t affect gameplay – may only be purchasable.

What will I be able to buy as a Villain?

Each Quest in Fable Legends has a number of Creatures that are native to it. If you want to use Creatures that are non-native to that Quest you will be able to unlock them through gameplay, or by purchasing them.

You will also be able to earn or buy different types of Traps and Gates to find new and exciting ways to take down the Heroes.

Will I need Xbox Live Gold membership to play Fable Legends on Xbox One?

Yes. Being a multiplayer game, Fable Legends will require Xbox Live Gold to play.

Will I need to pay for Gold membership to play on Windows 10 PC?

No, Windows 10 PC will not require Xbox Live Gold.

Will purchases I make on Xbox One carry over to the Windows 10 PC version?

Yes! Progress and items will be synced across Windows 10 PC and Xbox One. You can play on Windows 10 PC, and when you log in on Xbox One with the same account, pick up where you left off.

Will there be a boxed collector’s edition of the game?

We know that a lot of people love to collect physical copies and special editions, we are looking into this and will keep you updated.

How will free to play impact the development of the game? Will you focus more on shop items?

We want Fable Legends to be a brilliant game, and we have taken extra steps to ensure that the free-to-play model does not define the game. Our focus is on delivering high quality content for you to enjoy.

Following the launch of Fable Legends we will continue to deliver regular updates including new Heroes and Quests for you to play.

*Xbox Live Gold membership sold separately. Game offers in-app purchases.

Last week Microsoft also announced Forza Horizon 2 presents Fast and Furious. Its a standalone open world expansion similar to what's been done with Infamous second son. It features cars from the fast and furious anc challenges and races related to the series. It comes out on March 27 and is free until Apirl 10th. After that period is up it will cost $10 for anyone who didn't get it while it was free.

and finally to Kick off GDC Microsoft announced a ton of indie games coming to the Xbox One through the ID@Xbox Program. They seem to be catching up with Nintendo and Microsoft as far as relations go. The games include

Knight Squad - Chainawesome games
Gunball - Necrosoft Games
Arirtana - Duaik
Harpy's Feather - Duaik

I can't wait for agents of shield tomorrow. Looking at the new clip it looks like the Mack not trusting subplot is coming to a head.

What's interesting about the clip BnM posted was Couslon and May are looking for Armor. My guess is that its the armor that Quake uses in the comics.

On an unrelated note man I forgot how terrible chrome is these days.
