Nintendo Gaming / SLDLE?

I knew that it said sidle but never paid any attention to it, maybe because I knew what it meant just by the reaction of doing it.

That was without a down the most stupid thing I ever wasted my time reading.  There wasn't anything funny about it, it was about as funny as Bill Maher.

Well also in Pokemon Ruby you fight against Team Magma, while in Pokemon Sapphire you fight against Team Auqa.

Nintendo Gaming / You getting R or S?
« on: March 19, 2003, 01:20:39 PM »
I got the Sapphire version because blue is my favorite color and sapphire is by birthstone.  And the blue Pokemon on the box cover looks more interesting to me than the red one.

And BlkPaladin, I don't think the e-reader has been released in Japan yet.  I remember reading something about that not that long ago.  I could be wrong though.

Mostly wandering, but not really aimless, you have to walk everywhere and when you get there it's like you have to go somewhere else.  There are cutscenes occasionally, but nothing like Final Fantasy games.

But also you spend forver to level up, you need 100,000 points for next level but you get very little exp per battle that you can spend an hour fighting to get to the next level only to get 1 extra point of hp and or other various stats.

Enix does not make any games themselves, they farm out their games to outside developers to make them instead.

I guess that is why it takes forever for one of their games to come out.  I don't expect Dragon Quest 8 to come out for the PS2 until after the PS3 has been released.  Just like Dragon Quest 7.

Nintendo Gaming / More FF Games Coming ...?
« on: March 18, 2003, 07:25:40 AM »
In regards to the Square-Enix not making games for GCN after FF:CC, the only site I read it on was and I believe it was RPGamer.com, it stated that Enix, by itself wasn't going to focus on GCN, but was going to push Square to focus more on GCN to make up for them.

I do not recall this story popping up anywhere else.  So I am more likely to believe that it is not true.  It would have been all over the major sites, PlanetGamecube being one if Square-Enix put out a press release/announcement stating that they would not support the GCN after FF:CC.

Hey does anyone actually know how well SoAL sold for GC, I know it sold 20,000 copies in January but its the middle of March anyone have any updated sales numbers fo SoAL?

Well according to a news piece on gamecubeheaven.tk, Skies of Arcadia Legends, sold something like one and a quarter million copies just for February.  I can't get the site open so I don't know right off the top of my head who the source is, but regardless this is comforting news.

This could be wrong, I have seen the same numbers two places with copies sold and monies made being switched.

Acclaim should take notice.  Sometimes you can get your point across with out offending your prospective consumer.

I am so far spending $ 281.91 just for the month of March and that's just for video game related purchases.

Credit cards are nice, but if you can't pay with cash then you should probably stay away from credit cards because you'll probably spend the next ten years paying 90% interest and fees and 10% the cost of the item.

My Xbox.  I have turned it on twice and both times were last March, when I finally got it.  I have only one game and it is a piece of crap.  I am waiting patiently for Fable, as that will probably be the second game I buy for it.  The game I have is Blood Omen 2.  My Xbos just happens to be the most expensive dust magnet I have ever purchased.  I refuse to pay for extra equipment just to watch DVD's, I use my PS2 for that.

As of right now both my PS2 and Gamecube are getting about equal treatment, Xeonsaga with more than 40 hours invested already, and then later this month Zelda: The Wind Waker and my GBA will be taking the back seat when the GBA SP comes out and I am getting Pokemon Sapphire, Golden Sun: The Lost Ages, and then Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and also Soul Calibur II for GCN this August.  Hopefully I will have enough free time for Final Fantasy X-2 when that comes out in November.  I really need to stop ordering games.  I just got Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland today.

if you have issues with GS2, then I don't think you should play Dragon Warrior 7 on the Playstation, because the first battle doesn't take place until about 3 hours of story have been played through.

If you want good animations for animatrix, just watch the preview "Final Flight of Osiris" on IGN.

The new Stephen King movie "Dreamcatcher" will have a Matrix short that sounds a lot like "Final Flight of Osiris" play before the actual movie starts.  I saw the commercial for "Dreamcatcher" about an hour ago, and remember the word "Osiris" mentioned and saw it too.

You are confused, THE SCENE shown with the SpaceWorld Zelda Demo will be the basis of the next Zelda, not that they are going to take that demo and make it into the next Zelda.

General Gaming / Theory on why MGS2:Substance was named what it was
« on: March 06, 2003, 05:46:59 AM »
My theory is more simple.  I think the re-release of MGS2 was named "Substance" because the original version lacked any.  Consumers cried fowl, so it gets re-released with the option of playing Snake all the way through.  Kojima, IMO, was so secretive with the game because he KNEW that he had screwed up and didn't want to admit he had screwed up so far into the game's development schedule, hence the re-release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty as Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.  But IMO, Raiden wasn't the problem, it was the horrible story that made the game terrible.

I meant to watch it, but wound up playing Xenosaga instead.  Billy Bush used to host a radio station that I listen to, and he was on yesterday morning talking about old times and also how he got flashed by Naomi Cambbell at the current music awards show when he asked to see what shirt she was wearing under her jacket.  He's also on Access Hollywood.  And he is President Bush's cousin.

Nintendo Gaming / Where is Castlevania: HoD?
« on: March 04, 2003, 09:48:29 AM »
Does anyone find it strange that Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance is not listed at either EBGames.com and Gamestop.com?  Amazon has it listed for available in 1 to 2 days.  Circle of the Moon is still available, but why has Harmony of Dissonance become so scarce?  Castlevania: SotN is still listed and that came out what feels like 10 years ago or something.  I'm not looking to buy it since I got my copy when it came out, just an observation because I find it odd that it is no longer available, even as preowned.

Nintendo Gaming / Action Replay Release?
« on: February 23, 2003, 04:05:56 PM »
The ship dates keeps changing, it was suppose to be out last week, February 19, then it was the 20th, then the 21st, now it's the 26th.  If it ships then, then I will be suprised.

Then again it was suppose to have shipped way back in December and probably before that too.

The normal songs make them big, (Saria, Epona, Sun, Time, Zelda), the Song of Storms gives you the first heart piece but does not make one of the frogs grow.
(A) LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, DOWN, (A), DOWN, (A), DOWN RIGHT, LEFT, (A). is the pattern that worked for me to get the second heart piece from the frogs.  And I am playing the Master Quest version, if that makes a difference.  But what I posted before is the pattern to follow using the ocarina after making all of the frogs grow big and to then help them in their bug-eating game.

And as I said you don't have forever to follow their pattern, you have to get it all done as quickly as possible or they will jump back in and you will have to start over again.
