TalkBack / Re: Miyamoto: 'I Wanted to Experience Hyrule in 3D'

We all know the real reason this game is being made is that it's going to print money.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, but that's main reason it's being made.  It's cool that they're making major improvements to the game but how many times do they need to re-release it?

The owners are greedy and the players are greedy.  Both sides are out of touch with reality and their bickering sounds ridiculous in an economy where so many people are struggling and there are so many other bad things going on in the world.  I really wish they'd just shut up, get an agreement done behind closed doors, and move on because I enjoy watching football but the business of it makes me sick.

I was at prison one day and I saw an attractive specimen of very buttered rat genitalia. I've never been a pervert, but the butter on the package was just so sexy that it was just too irresistible.

I'd prefer banana cream pie.  9 out of 10 monkeys agree banana cream pie is the king of all pies.

The excitement of my week has been that I spent about 6 hours yesterday playing Wind Waker.  I'm on a mission to finally beat that game.  I've tried several times before but always get distracted from it.  Not this time, I will be victorious.

Could I get a pie instead of a tote bag?  Pie sounds good right now...

Wow, I won a hat in that contest as well. It was actually done in Shockwave (before Flash). We archived it here.
That's right, it was Shockwave.  I spent so much time playing that.

One more I forgot about was Harvest Moon 64.  That game was so good, it took what was good about the original and built upon it and the characters in the game were really good.  I had such high hopes for the series going forward but no Harvest Moon game has come close to capturing the magic of Harvest Moon 64 in my opinion, though the I haven't played many of the recent games in the series other than the Rune Factory games.

Typical 3rd party launch titles, established series bringing over watered down versions which have decent gameplay but no depth or features to them.  Yawn...

I've still got enough games for my DS to satisfy my handheld gaming needs for the near future, especially with Radiant Historia just coming out and Okamiden coming soon.  Too many of the launch games smell of rushed out stripped down versions that are there to only to cash in on being launch titles (Madden, Sims, Ridge Racer...).

Pilot Wings has potential to be really good and if I were getting a 3DS at launch I'd probably get it but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being underwhelming.  I'd like to think Super Monkey Ball will be good but none of the games have captured the magic of the 1st one in my opinion, though Super Monkey Ball 2 was close.

With the DS games I have to still play, the weak launch lineup, and the fact that 18 months from now we'll probably see the 3DS Lite, I'm going to hold off for now.

I won my N64 playing a flash game on the IBM site where you had to collect as many coins as possible in a minute and the first 5 people to get over a certain amount of points won an N64 and I was the 5th person to win one.  I also got a cool Mario hat which I completely wore out.  With the system I also got Mario 64, Wave Race, Star Fax 64, and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire.  It was awesome.  I still go back and play my N64 from time to time.

The N64 AKI wrestling games were awesome, every one starting with World Tour, which had horrible graphics and not a lot of features, but the gameplay was awesome.  Every game in the series got better in graphics and features and the gameplay remained consistently awesome.

Mario 64, Star Fox 64, and Zelda were of course classics.  Not much to say about them that hasn't been said a million times before.

San Francisco Rush was an awesome racing game, and Rush 2049 which others have mentioned, made the game even better.

I loved Wetrix.  It was an awesome puzzle game.  Personally, I liked it better than Tetris.  It was a very unique idea and I thought the game was well executed.

"Winning" - The Charlie Sheen Epic RPG.  Released for Wii & Ported for Nintendo 3DS.  It will include a credit card accessory that will plug into the Wii remote so you can accurately imitate cutting lines of cocaine & 3DS connectivity so you can record 3D photographic progress of your body's degredation into a drug-fuelled madness and share with Nintendo for online leaderboards.

Rated "T" for teen.

TigerBlood!  Anyone who doesn't want this is a troll.

Nintendo tends to do two types of shows.  You either get something new announced that really gets everyone excited or it's just a total lame duck where all the good stuff is something we already know about and the new stuff is all incredibly lame.  Hopefully we get the first type.

I'd sure hope so.  If they were to not announce anything exciting for Wii, it'd be an incredibly sad year for Wii owners, Zelda or no Zelda.

I predict:
  • Way to much boasting about how huge DS and Wii are, and how great of a start 3DS is off to
  • Lots of Zelda which will be for Wii only, the follow up to Wii won't be coming out soon enough for a TP type release
  • Some sort of pack in/pre-order bonus for Skyward Sword, like there was for Wind Waker
  • Pikmin 3 is finally announced, the people at Nintendo are insane for waiting this long to announce it so it has to finally happen
  • One more game in the Wii series (sports, fit, music, etc)
  • Dragon Quest 10 getting a lot of focus for being a non-Nintendo made game
  • Tons of 3DS games, the most interesting of which won't be released until 2012
  • A brief mention of the successor to the Wii at most, with no details of any sort
  • Dwindling 3rd party support for Wii
  • Great 3rd party support for 3DS

Monkey Target in the first Super Monkey Ball game was so much.  That was the first game I owned for my Gamecube and I played so much of it.  How every Super Monkey Ball game since then hasn't included it is beyond me.
