General Chat / New Animatrix movie up
« on: February 06, 2003, 05:00:29 AM »
What the hell is this? I think you got the wrong link dude. It's to a company called Animatrix, not the cool Anime Matrix that's released. Geez.

Yeah I know eh. So much for Jan 29th. It had better be a good issue for us to wait an extra week. And where's that 'Where Are They Now?' special that Narayan was gonna do? Seriously that something he had to do didn't take THAT long?

Yo Game_Freak, cool you got ur name back. What school do you go to? I went to St Patrick's Strathfield. Assuming you live in Burwood, since your closest EB is Burwood Westfield, is it Christian Bros?
Sorry if I'm asking too much. Just wanna know, if that's OK.

General Gaming / Nintendo Nexus - Nintendo's Next Console???
« on: February 06, 2003, 04:38:27 AM »
"Sean Ozz" emailed Nintendo of America about this, snd you can read the reply on this same thread on the old PGC forums.

I too crapped my pants when I saw the pic on IGN's N-Query.
I mean, HOLY S**T! Can it be any cooler? Nexus is such a cool name. Better than anything Nintendo themselves have ever come up with. I mean, ULTRA 64? Serious? It was soo much better as Nintendo 64. And look how cool it is! Those blue lights just top the cake (for next-gen Wavebirds no doubt), and those curves, oh man! Like someone said, it IS a marriage between the N64 and Gamecube. Now all we need is a picture of the controller. Miyamoto-san!

And then, in typical fashion, Nintendo dismisses the rumours, and happily announces the TRUE successor, the GameSphere. The next generation in gaming, it reacts to your stress levels and rolls away to avoid being hit by angry feet, circuit-crushing controllers, stray punches, and flying friends.

RABicle mate, I hope ur enjoying school, cause I don't go no more! Haha.
Yep, I got a month to go b4 I start my first year of Uni. I'm doing a Bachelor of Arts(Communications), which relates to journalism and stuff, so Nintendo Gamer Magazine, here I come! Haha.

Yeah, for an Aussie thread, there seem to be more Americans in here than Aussies.
I guess you guys hate being called Yanks as much as we hate to be called Steve Irwin, Crocodile Dundee and G'Day mate!

TRUE STORY: I remember I was in LA back in '96, and a chick came up to me and said "Are you from Lake Tahoe? I'm from Fresno!" (I went to Lake Tahoe to do some skiiing and bought myself a cap). I said "Nah, I'm from Australia". Immediately, her eyes lit up, and she said with a big enthusiastic smile: "Giiiidaaaaaay Maaaaaate!" and shook my hand. "I absolutely LOVED Crocodile Dundee!" Well, I was only in Year 6, and I had never heard of the guy. I smiled and went off on my merry way.
I found out when we got home that Crocodile Dundee was a movie, starring Paul Hogan as the title character, impressing onlooking Americans with his naive Aussie outback mannerisms. Frankly, I found all three to be boring as hell.

And guess what? I'm Asian!

I was gonna post here last night, but the net disconnected and it was 4am, Sydney time. Look you guys, if RABicle wants a Nintendo Australia thread, let us have one. This IS General Chat after all. And if you want, you can make your own thread since you live in Maryland (I thought you were talking about Sydney suburb MERRYLANDS for a sec).
There are heaps of people on this forum from Australia:
-Myself (Termin8Anakin)
-RABicle
-Mario (formerly known as Game_Freak333 on the old forums)
-Infernal Monkey02
-Hybrid Hunter
-Lord of the Wang
-Frozen Ad
-Riste
-Poona
-t3july2003
-Shifty2k2

to name a few. Ok, I'm off now to buy a game and our monthly Nintendo Gamer mag. cyas all later.

Nintendo Gaming / What ever happened with the Triforce?
« on: February 04, 2003, 05:21:12 AM »
The last Namco arcade game I saw was Soul Calibre II. And that's a while now. The latest Sega arcade that I know of is Daytona USA 2.
It's not like because of Triforce that Sega and Namco should now rush to start making new arcade games. F-Zero AC is something I absolutely DIE TO PLAY, and really, is Star Fox 'Armada' an arcade game? I know it spells Nintendo's return to the arcade, but what else will Namco and Sega make for Triforce? Seriously? The only thing I see is that they port their old games over. Daytona 1/2 would be cool, Time Crisis 1/2, Crisis Zone would be even cooler. That reminds me, we need some light-gun games for Gamecube! And seeing as Namco made a gun of it's own for PS2, they could do one for Nintendo!.

Nintendo Gaming / Too Human Hype Thread!!!!!!!
« on: February 04, 2003, 05:10:30 AM »
I've only seen five images of Too Human:
-The one of the big Zeus-like statue
-The one with the baby in the green liquid (Matrix style)
-The one with the space stastion
-The fat guy
-The main character

No movies, no other images, no other info other than that you can upgrade yourself. Looks cool, but I'll wait till E3. And if Eternal Darkness is anything to go by, this game could be biiiiig.

There are only two projects for Gamecube that have been around for more than 4 years now. And they are Silicon Knight's Too Human, and Factor 5's Thornado. Hopefully, something shows at E3 about these games. I mean, I know Thornado may be canned, but isn't it obvious that something's going on cause the old Thornado teaser is still on the Factor 5 website, and they can't do Star Wars forever.

Nintendo Gaming / Official F-Zero Thread
« on: February 03, 2003, 04:20:10 AM »
I think you would be a total loser if you played a game and weren't an expert at it, so I think that's the case with the guy playing F-Zero.
Lucky Bastard.

Yeah, six player connected arcade cabinets (Daytona USA style), all with that crazy flight-sim ball that moves thingy! There would be a screen on top of each cabinet so others can see the craziness of the game. You do notice a game when it's being swamped with people looking in. You see it with all those dance games. You get applauded and you get all the chicks going starry-eyed at you cause you dance like pro.
I remember when Time Crisis 2 came out. Anybody who was shooting good attracted a large crowd. I hope that's the case with F-Zero AC. I remember that great feeling inside when me and my friend got to the boss, and there where around 20 people there watchoing us, then cheering when we finished him. Oh, the joy. You only become a celebrity for the duration of the game, and for about 20mins afterward, but oh, that feeling is so great. Total superiority over the mere mortals.

The Japanese are getting some free bonuses from Sega.  Extra characters what?

Sega of Japan is currently holding a special campaign for owners of Eternal Arcadia Legends (Skies of Arcadia Legends outside of Japan) to download special data to their memory cards at selected stores.

By combining this special data with the game save, players will have access to special items and characters. In addition to the special data, players can receive a limited Eternal Arcadia Legends memory card label sticker.

This promotion is highly unlikely to become available outside of Japan.
