Nintendo Gaming / New Killer 7 Screenshots
« on: August 20, 2003, 04:54:46 PM »
I'm surprised there isn't a thread for Killer 7 (at least not a recent one), but I found a bunch of new screenshots so I thought I'd make a new one. These pictures are very cool, dare I say uber rad. Here is the link -

http://mediaviewer.ign.com/ignMediaPage.jsp?channel_id=74&object_id=495539&adtag=network=ign&site=cube&pagetype=medialist&page_title=Killer+7

Just copy and paste, the link button isn't working for me. I highly recommend you click on the pics called "Bloody Carnage" and "Absolutely way too cool." Maybe the "gamecube is for 8 year olds" fanboys will finally shut their trap.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: ZELDA-where do i get double magic power?
« on: August 20, 2003, 12:22:11 PM »
I actually haven't gotten it yet, but when you kill the giant sea squid (the one where you shoot its eyes with cannonballs), a fairy appears underneath it, and she gives you the double magic power. I could be wrong though.

How long did it take you to write all that?

What?!?! Yoshi's Island was an awesome game. It didn't have the same gameplay formula that the other Marios did, but I think it was a brilliant side quest (kind of like Majora's Mask). To me it felt like a classic Miyamoto game.

I live in California. I kind of wish Mario had officially run, it would just prove how insane the recall really is (Arnold Schwarzenegger). Supposedly all you need to run is 70 signatures and about 10 grand, so IMO Mario could have easily become governor. Well, not really. But it sure would be cool.

General Chat / RE:Your Favorite Fast Food Resturant

McDonalds' burgers taste like steamed death. Burger King is good, and so is Taco Bell (only for their chicken and steak quesadillas). Carl's Jr. (or Hardees depending where you live) is the best. You just can't beat the 6 dollar restaurant burger.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:"N5" Controller.
« on: August 19, 2003, 09:58:19 AM »
Here's what I think the N5 controller should have:

-Slightly bigger hand grips than the gcn controller
-Select Button
-Identical analog sticks with the "click" feature
-No Z button, but 2 middle finger buttons on the back of the grips
-Bigger D-Pad of course
-Interchangeable locations for D-pad and Left analog stick (and maybe for the face buttons and right stick for FPS's)
-Same L and R as GCN's, but have the click feature be a "lock." That would be good for things like Metroid and Zelda bosses.
-Built in wireless capability and rumble
-A screen would also be good, but maybe too expensive

I think the best feature for the next controller could be full customizability. It would be cool to, for example, be able to remove your face buttons and buy ones with a different layout, or to buy different L and R buttons.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Who's gonna get Starcraft Ghost???
« on: August 19, 2003, 09:29:55 AM »
Bah. I think what everyone wanted was a traditional Starcraft RTS game, not a 3rd person Splinter Cell type game. I probably won't buy this even if it does come out on gamecube.

Reader Reviews / RE:Ikaruga?
« on: August 18, 2003, 09:45:16 PM »
I have Ikaruga. It's a really fun game, but it's not for everyone. For starters, it's VERY difficult. Even though there are only 5 chapters, I had to play for 7 hours so I could get unlimited continues. Also, it is a pretty traditional shooter, although it adds the awesome ability to change your ship's color, which allows you to absorb bullets of that color (there are black and white bullets, and your ship can change from black to white and vice versa). So if you don't like 2-D shooters, then I wouldn't recommend Ikaruga. I also wouldn't recommend it if you get frazzled easily, because you gotta have nerves of steel for this game. But it does have some cool bonus features like unlockables, 2 player co-op, internet score rankings, etc. And for 39.99 it is a good deal. You might want to check out a review for more information.

I'll play actually. I know I shouldn't get back into it, since it's insanely addicting, but count me in. Making new characters is always fun anyway.

I played for about 2 years but I quit recently. I can come and give you guys items and such if you want, since I don't play anymore and have no use for them. Maybe I'll play a little too.

I was Wart. I don't even know who he is.
"-You live in a dream world
-One day you're fighting for evil, the next you're just a forgotten cameo
-Fight fire with water."
Okay...

By the way what's with all the binder-paper-picture avatars?

I'm at 48 hours or so, and I'm at the final boss I think. The first day I got Skies I played 8 hours straight.
