I never go to the island that late, guess I should start. Plus, I want to catch those bugs.

BTW, I hate that it will be nearly impossible for anyone outside of Japan to get all the badges. The Expert Walker badge requires you to StreetPass with 1,000 people. If that specifically means with New Leaf, that will be nearly impossible. Even if it just means overall StreetPasses (whether they have the game or not), that will still be very hard for most people

IIRC, that is if you are lucky enough to catch a bunch of sharks (which is rare). How can you easily make that much money other than being purely lucky to catch a ton of Whale Sharks (who have a 1% appearance rate).

360,000 bells. And the island is good for small money, but too much time has to be spent to get any decent amount of money there.

Trying to build the Reset Center because I found it interesting, but it's so expensive. Next I will probably build the Museum 2nd floor.

Do YOU ask every person you meet online or in person if they own a DS, and if they do, do you ask them if they've ever had a problem?

The number of DS's sold is from Nintendo, so that is simple.

As for the iPod failure rate (my bad, not the iPod Touch) was from an older survey than I realized as it was from 2005. It was a survey done by Mac In Touch.

Microsoft has released prices for some accesories.

The Xbox One controller will be $59.99 ($10 more than the Xbox 360 wireless controller).
The Xbox One Play & Charge Kit will be $24.99 (a bundle with the Xbox One controller will be $74.99)
The Chat Headset will be $24.99

You want to use anecdotal evidence? Fine, the thousands of people onlne I have seen or talked to who had no problems with their systems. Or that no DS owner I have met in person had a problem with their system.

I also see widespread reports online of people loving Community, but we know that is not accurate.

People who have problems are gonna be more vocal than those who don't have problems.

A repair shop having people come in for repairs, strange. And I am sure NONE of them broke the hinge through their own carelessness.

And failure rates for devices vary depending on the type of device, but an example of the iPod Touch is 15% need to be repaired. Even on the low end (TVs) it is 6-8%. The DS (including DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL) sold over 150 million. 6% of that is 9 million. I know that would not be just the hinge, but I bet the failure rate of the system is far less than that.

It's a rare defect that few people suffered from. You could get it, but it's not a design flaw and not something more than a handful of people had happen to them.

Every electronics device has some failure rates. The hinge problem on the DS was rare and not something many people experienced.

GamePad lighter? The thing is already extremely light. I have a hard time seeing how anyone could find it heavy. I have to agree that a longer battery life is just about the only improvement it needs.

In australia all tv's have to be hd or you cannot watch tv :'( as all tv stations have moved to digital!

Don't they have converter boxes like they do in the United States?

Actually, GameCube had the same online capability as PS2 (minus the external hard drive). It's just that developers pretty much chose not to do online for GameCube.

142
They also renewed the trademark in 2010, so it has nothing to do with this project. They just do it on a regular basis to make sure they don't lose it.

General Gaming / Re: Ouya
« on: July 28, 2013, 03:15:42 AM »
So according to the CEO of Ouya, only 27% of Ouya owners have actually BOUGHT a game. Yeah, tell me again what incentive developers have to make Ouya games when barely 1/4 of owners even buy games?

144
They have been profiting year to year for a long time now on the Xbox 360, so why do you think they haven't at least broke even overall by now?

145
on the one hand Microsoft has been pouring money into the xbox for over a decade and even with the 360's relative popularity we don't know if they actually broke even with things like the rrod and the lack of overall penetration over any region that isn't the UK or US

Actually, they have made a profit with the Xbox 360, awhile ago (even factoring costs like the RRoD).

See, this is an example of a correct opinion.

Well, I do have to say, I completely agree with that opinion.  Doesn't mean it's "correct" though. :D

Is there any way a moratorium can be put on speaking of The Big Bang Theory?

If our Overlords would be so kind, they could edit the word filter to replace "Big Bang Theory", "BBT" and "BigBangTheory" with something amusing (or, at least, more amusing than the show).

And replace "Community" with "Big Bang Theory" and you would have a show people watch and is good.

And some shows are terrible and get low ratings, but survive because the studio is desperate.

In the west, this doesnt make a shred of difference since Japanese indie games rarely get localized anyways.

Well, you are wrong in saying it is terrible. It just shows you have no good taste in shows and don't know what is funny.

How did you get to this point in your life without realizing that comedy is an inherently very subjective thing? You seem to have this mindset that your opinions and tastes are absolute truths and anyone who disagrees with them is wrong. That's a developmental phase that usually goes away around age 5 or 6.

I know people have different opinions, I was just acting like he was.

No, you didn't.  He gave his opinion of the show.  You attacked this opinion.  That's a completely different thing.

No, he said it in a way like he was right. He did not say it like it's an opinion. For example, it's a fact that Community is a very low rated show that few people watch. That is not disputable since the facts support it. It's my opinion that the show sucks because different people have different tastes. He presented it as if his opinion were fact.
