General Gaming / Anybody here play World of Warcraft?
« on: April 01, 2010, 01:33:30 AM »
After a year of trying not to play the game (my brother plays it a lot), I caved.  Very addicting.  Still just with my first character; a level 67 undead warlock.  Anybody else play?  If you play on the Draka server let me know.

Nintendo Gaming / The Conduit 2 confirmed.

Though High Voltage isn't ready to spill the beans about specific[online] modes just yet, the studio promises a bevy of new gameplay types, as well as the return of the first game's innovative Bounty Hunter mode.

As you might expect, weapons like the Vortex Cannon will add a few wrinkles to online competition, as will the introduction of different character classes, each with unique attributes. You'll also be able to unlock suit upgrades that bestow your character with special skills; robotic legs, for example, will let you sprint greater distances."

"Right now, the plan is to have one primary suit slot and two secondary slots where you can equip upgrades, but that may change in the final game. From a purely cosmetic standpoint, you'll have tons of options to change your character's appearance using the same modular system the team uses to diversify enemies. For those who prefer to keep their gun fights local, Conduit 2 will feature a two-to four-player splitscreen option for all of the game's competitive modes.

And when you want to take a break from blasting your friends and loved ones, you can team up with them in the new co-op Invasion mode. Up to four players can join forces (either via splitscreen or online), and the challenges they'll face are unique to this mode. Further details remain under wraps, but we always welcome the chance to eradicate some alien scum with our fellow humans."

"Their first order of business: expanding the game's scope, "In the first Conduit, I think the core experience is very sold," says producer Josh Olson."

- ASE returns
- set in Atlantis
- SEGA publishing
- Huge boss battles
- old/new weapons

Sounds like they're adding a lot of stuff people wanted in the first.  At least they're trying. :P: :

Nintendo Gaming / Recommended SDHC card brands.
« on: September 03, 2009, 12:20:02 AM »
I bought a freaking 32 gig card off of Amazon, just to have the thing crap out on me and refuse to be recognized on anything (if anybody knows how to remedy this please let me know).

Now I figured I'd buy a different card.

Any brands of SDHC cards that you guys can recommend personally? I would like a working 32 gig card, just so I never have to worry about space again or at least for a while(I play alot of music games).  But I'll settle for a smaller card if need be.

Nintendo Gaming / Best Final Fantasy remake?
« on: July 27, 2009, 12:34:09 AM »
Well, my girlfriend's birthday coming up and I've already got her the Aqua DSi, Pokemon Platinum and Prof. Layton.  Now I know she's not a huge fan of the FF series, but she's really enjoyed the last few she has played so I thought I'd get her one of the remakes to round out the birthday package.  Now between the couple of remakes (i'm not sure how many) which is the best one?

http://kotaku.com/5243549/dj-hero-guitar-hero-5-band-hero-hit-this-fall

GH5 is the next Guitar Hero sequel

Band Hero is a kid friendly version, think Lego Rock Band.

DJ Hero, no need to explain. :P

Heh.  It's strange that both Neversoft and Harmonix were both developing Kid-friendly music games.  I was really worried that Band Hero was going to be the full band set up and GH5 was going back to just guitar.  I can now rest easy.  I still think 4 very similar games (GHM, GHSH, Band Hero, GH5) is way too many.

I MIGHT get DJ Hero, but it better not keep my Motown and R&B out of my guitar hero.

General Chat / My birthday turned out pretty lame today. Car woes.
« on: April 27, 2009, 11:04:29 PM »
So today was my birthday, mah 20th.  And I drove over to my gf's to um, get a present, but it turns out my dash board alert lights are broken and have been for a while.  Guess what? I never knew I was low on transmission fluid.  The ****'s destroyed.  I had to pay a guy 75 DOLLARS  for him to tow my dodge back to my house 3 miles away.  what the hell.  Plus having finals this week I have to bum rides off of relatives and my girlfriend.

****.

The two days which I did stuff for my birthday were awesome though.  Just the day of, crap hit the fan.

General Chat / LotusFlow3r
« on: April 14, 2009, 06:51:42 PM »
I dunno if anybody is a prince fan like I am but my wonderful girlfriend picked up this for my birthday.

It's 3 albums MLPSoUND (a pop album), LotusFlow3r (experimental guitar album) and Elixar (some girl he wants to make famous album).

MLPSoUND is mostly "meh" to me, save for a select few tracks that absolutely save the album. "No More Candy 4 U" is absolutely fantastic.

Now, LotusFlow3r is pretty damn awesome.  The influences in his guitar playing all over the place from blues, to jazz, to trippy rock.  "Dreamer" reeks of Hendrix influence, yet can stand of its own.  A lot of the songs are very untraditional in sound but are just as catchy as many of prince's older material.

haven't listened to elixir.

anyone else pick the album up?

Nintendo Gaming / Your Top 5 most wanted for the GB/GBA DSi service.
« on: March 24, 2009, 05:20:23 PM »
since the service has pretty much been confirmed:

Quote
Nintendo called Kombo up today and requested that it be known that some of the above information is not officially announced for North America and as a result, may not be completely accurate.

Specifically, they told us that you will not be able to play GB and GBA games directly from your SD memory card. Also, downloadable GB and GBA games have not officially been announced for North America (only Japan, so far).

Nintendo is holding their GDC 2009 key note speech tomorrow. Expect to be informed of the complete capabilities of DSi tomorrow. As always, Kombo will keep you updated.

what 5 games do you most want on the service?

1. Pokemon Silver
2. Metroid 2
3. Advance Wars
4. Pokemon Blue
5. Metroid Fussion (my copy is teh broken)

Special mention: Golden Sun, never played it but heard really good things about it.

18
Okay, well I've been looking into the new pokemon games (I haven't played any since Silver, the newer pokemon past the 250 or so mark never caught my attention) and I've decided to buy one.

Now, I'm not really sure how much different D/P are to Plat., so I decided to ask you guys.  I'm definitely going down to gamestop tomorrow to buy something...

So guys, which one do you think would be best?

Also, does D/P/Plat. have my two favorite pokemon, Karbby/Kingler and Heracross?

(not my favorite, but Geodude would be a plus, too!)

Thanks.

Awesome game is awesome.  An actual RTS (not that quasi-age of empires stuff) that works very, very well on the DS.  They did streamline a lot of it for my guess, system limitations but it ends up working out great.  The core RTS mechanics are definitely well intact, build up your armies, create buildings, manage a very streamlined economy and they even have hero units for you to create.  Good stuff, best of all it's only 20 bucks.  I really want a sequel with wifi, as all it has is vs. mode local.  The story mode is actually very entertaining to play and the games scripts is very funny (from the writer of Spongebob). Great game.

General Chat / Need help finding Eisley (the band) merchandise
« on: January 31, 2009, 04:51:16 PM »
Well with valentine's coming up, I was looking to buy my girlfriend a shirt of one of her favorite bands.  The problem, everywhere i've looked I can't find any related merchandise to the band save for CD's.  I remember months ago the old Eisley site had a merch link, but no it appears as if that section of the site is gone.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

:]

I figured since I download WT DLC pretty regularly I'd update on how some of the songs are.

*as a note, I will not be downloading all of the DLC (for money and time reasons), but I will purchase enough as possible

I'll try to get around to doing this every single DLC I own.
------------------------------------------------------------------

This week I only downloaded a single, mainly because I really don't enjoy Travis Barker's music.

"Low (Travis Barker Remix)"- Flo Rida featuring T-Pain
If you have just the guitar itself do NOT purchase this song.  It is far and away the most boring guitar track in WT's DLC catalog and on disc setlist.  On my strait read of the song I got 99% and FC'd the song within the next turn.  The bass is nothing to write home about either.   Where the song shines is the drum and vocal track.  The vocal track is akin to "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn" or "B.Y.O.B." in terms of speed.  Due to the speed and the rap beat, this not only makes it fun but challenging as well.  The drum track is the polar opposite of the guitar, it is easily one of the funnest in the entire game.  Not entirely challenging, but fun none-the-less.  It's fast and chock full of notes.
Final:  Unless you have the drums, Recommended for Fans only.

Next week I'll be downloading the Aussie Track Pack, Bruce Springsteen Track Pack and the album "Dig Out Your Soul" by Oasis.
