Official special Miis
« on: March 09, 2012, 01:02:23 AM »
As we know, in the Mii Maker, Nintendo can distribute official Miis (described as "special") which have golden pants and limitations on redistribution.  Having gotten my first the other day, I was thinking we could start compiling and maintaining a list of those that have been distributed so far.

To my current knowledge, these are region-locked btw.

NoA:
-Rainn Wilson: Released on the official 3DS Facebook page as the first in an apparent series of celebrity Miis.

Nintendo of Japan:
I think I heard they released Iwata or somebody...?

A Google search earlier also led me to info about an Australian celebrity that I, for one, had never heard of.

I can always tweak this post to be better worded as well as more complete as we get our info together.

Nintendo of Japan did give a golden Iwata one, but they basically designed it so that you can't distribute it to others (you can't return it to your Mii Plaza).

I personally got gold pants Miis of Iwata, Reggie, Miyamoto, Peter Moore, and some guy named Martin.
There are four special Resident Evil Miis with QR codes.
Japan actually has several hundred special Miis; they even released a book of them.

So... in other words, completely impossible to keep track of? Even just the ones that work in North America?

I thought "I'll finally have the Gold Pants Mii" accomplishment in StreetPass Plaza. But... there's really no way to get this gold pants mii into StreetPass Plaza. It's just in the "Mii Maker" app, right?

I'm pretty sure those are 2  different kinds of distributions.  Japan's had Iwata show up in the Plaza but unable to be sent to the Maker.  He was level 5 in Find Mii though IIRC

You can send him to the Maker, but you can't copy him to the Maker; he'll disappear from the Plaza.

Oh, like the official (though non-gold pantsed) Nikki... did that in a heartbeat.  Although she just counted as having been met through invitation.

Did everyone check their Mii Plaza today?

If you live in the US, Reggie stopped by to give you any single piece of any currently available puzzle you want.

Iwata visited what I will assume to be Europe's 3DS owners.

And it looks like they did it for the 3DS 1 year anniversary.

Golden Reggie, notably redesigned since sending the stationery and the QR code they printed in Nintendo Power
