Hopefully the 3DS and games will push me to Platinum status this year.

Are you sure? I don't remember it being that way but then again I never really paid much attention. I checked this time only because I wondered if I were able to do it. I guess I'll see what happens, but I don't care either way, it's only ten coins.

It appears that the Intend to Buy for Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is up on Club Nintendo.

Here's my "Let us know what you think..." reply for Professor Layton:

Quote
PROFESSOR LAYTON!  I REALLY JUST TOOK IN A DEEP BREATH BEFORE I TYPED THAT, PRETENDING THAT I WAS REALLY YELLING IT!  I LOVE PROFESSOR LAYTON!  I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, I'D LEAVE MY WIFE TO MARRY HIM (IF/WHEN IT BECOMES LEGAL TO GAY-MARRY FICTIONAL CHARACTERS).  MY FROTHING DESIRE FOR THIS GAME IS MORE THAN MY DESIRE FOR NEW SUPER MARIO RBOS. WII.  THIS WILL BE A MIDNIGHT PURCHASE FOR ME!  I'M STILL YELLING ALL OF THIS.  PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO RELEASE THE PROFESSOR LAYTON MOVIE ON DVD IN THE US!

I sincerely hope you actually entered that in.

I'll Intend to Buy it if you give me a code from one of the seventy copies you're planning to purchase.

I disagree.  Professor Layton games are so good, you should buy them even if you only on a 2600.

All right, so I've got a little problem. I have not been able to link my Club Nintendo account to my Shop Channel account. I decided to try again just now since I wanted a refresher on the error. Here it is:

Quote
Error Code: 205943
An error occurred while linking the Username. Please check the Username and password and try again.

Before I contact Nintendo, I am wondering, has anyone else gotten this?

Nada.  In fact, I just linked my new Wii to my second Club Nintendo account and didn't have a problem.

I think the problem may stem from that I renamed my account. When Club Nintendo launched, I already had a MyNintendo account for reasons I do not recall, and so I just converted that instead of creating a new one. But its username and password were still the randomly generated mass of letters and numbers from when it was created, so I changed it to something comprehensible. I also tried entering in the old account name and password, as well as trying the old name with the new password, but no luck.

I'll soon email Nintendo, so we'll see if they can offer a solution.

There are new rewards up and these I like! Four pins commemorating Super Mario's 25th Anniversary. From the site they are copper with a brass safety pin and 1.5x1.5 inches. There are four of them and if I had enough points I'd get them all! It was hard a hard pick but I chose the C pin because it wasn't the same shape as the others. These are really cool looking so if you've never busted your points out now would be a nice time. 450 points get you one!

I really like button A, but the fact it says "Nintendo, Co, LTD" instead of "Nintendo of America" or even "Club Nintendo" bothers me. :(

Actually the lettering really bothered me with all of them and knowing I could only get one at this point really made me look over all of them before choosing. I'm not that bothered by what it says since I've always asked them to bring items that were from other regions- I'm fine if they're from another country originally. They're all fine looking :)

Those pins do look pretty nice, but that's just way too many coins for a single one. If that were for the whole set, I would be tempted to order them.

Heck, I'd even go so far as to spend 800 on all four. But 450 is internet robbery.

Figures: Nintendo of America finally starts offering items worth getting, then they charge obscene amounts for them.  All I've gotten so far was that WiiWare game.  I should probably download it sometime...

I got the Mario posters I ordered yesterday and I like them a lot. What I like even more is the package they came in: a big, fairly sturdy cardboard tube, which I've been using to smack my roommates with when they get out of line.

There are two new prizes one tote bag and a messenger bag. They look alright, I could be in the market for the tote bag. There are also new surveys: Wii, DS Holiday surveys and a Member surveys. They're all ten coins.
I forgot to do surveys for every game I've bought since the Summer so I'm trying to get some stuff out of the way.
The game rack I ordered came in and it's pretty cool for someone with a few games, but I wouldn't recommend it for someone with a load of games- unless you've got the coins to throw down.

I also had 3 new surveys today, which were holiday satisfaction surveys for the Wii; the DS; and Club Nintendo itself.

Quote from:
8. What would you like to see change, or improved about Club Nintendo?

My response:
Better prizes. You know there is this neat thing called the internet and us American Nintendo fans can see what the Japanese club gets for prizes (I won't even go into the games they have that we don't get...) we want the Japanese club prizes. All of them please.

9. What type of Club Nintendo Reward would you like to see more of?  (Please select all that apply)
Nintendo Game System or Game Accessories
Stationery items or School supplies
Games (Downloadable or Cartridge/Disc-based)
Collectible items or Memorabilia
Toys
Bags
Items I can download to my computer (screensavers, wallpapers, etc.)
Decorative items (posters or artwork)
Apparel
Other (Please specify):

For 'Other' I mentioned how the European club lets people redeem coins for Wii points.

I also bitched about how you only get coins for the first game you register on a family account and yet you have to buy multiple games to properly play with other family members (Like Animal Crossing). And also that you can only have one Wii synced to the Shop at a time and your family members lose out on half of their purchases.

I just spent a lot of time filling out surveys to get the messenger bag, but then I didn't order it. It seems like Nintendo's finally starting to do interesting things with Club Nintendo, and I don't want to blow all my coins now and see a bunch of cool stuff come out that I can't afford.

Also, a thought occurred to me while filling out surveys. Which is more depressing: the thought that we're filling out these surveys for nothing because Nintendo isn't paying any attention, or the thought that it's somebody's job to read all of them?
