Hey ejammer I came up with a gun that should work for Rank 3 quests for online. Royal Launcher frame,Tropeco gun Barrel, and Thunderacrus stock. All level appropriate and the majority of the shots reload and fire quickly. The only shots that have recoil is Cluster 1 and wyvern fire 1 with low recoil. The only ammo it doesn't fire is freeze,crag,dragon,exaust, and slicing.

I'll need to push through Lagi a couple times to get the required goods, but will give it a shot.  (Pun intended?)  Thanks!

Yeah I use that site to see if there is certain armor sets with certain skills that I want together.

You want to do the Lagi quests now?

No luck for plates, and the tail carve only gave a scale.  I need to finish the same quest in Village mode at some point over the next day or two, so will have another chance to get those parts there.

How far are you in the offline? Which rank are you up to?

Offline, I'm just about to do the Lagi urgent (hunt) to finish off the 4-star quests.  Currently HR19 for online mode, so I guess that's a bit further along - at least letting me mess around in the volcano sometimes.

Saw a video of this.  He's HUGE.  Pretty cool quest.


What's your plan of attack?  In the video I saw, it looked like some of the hunters couldn't do much more than hack at his ankles, making guns a nice alternative to some of the melee weapons.  Then again, traps would bring that beast down to your level pretty quickly regardless.

Well in the few times I did this quest I typically was using a switchaxe. I would first lay out sleep meat and when jho ate it and fell asleep we would put Large Barrel Bomb+ by head.Then put Shocktrap by feet so when it wakes up from bombs it will land on trap. Then hack at the tail. Then maybe a pitfall trap when it is tired so it stays in there longer.Then just melee it with some flash bombs and poison meat mixed in.

You do bring up a good point about guns. 2 gunners was using a combonation of pierce and either crag or cluster shots work well. Crag and cluster shots can make Jho tire easily so the melee users can get some easy hits in while Jho just stands there. 

I found a video the other day with 4 gunners from Japan and it was well planned out.

That's no a hunt, it's a meat grinder.  The crew in that video certainly don't fool around.

Town's full so went off on my own. A failed Deviljho quest then when I finally found a group willing to do that double Barioth quest, my connection drops just as we were starting on the 2nd one. In short, I pretty much accomplished nothing tonight.

GK - sorry to hear about that.  we waited a while and then an old friend found us online.

we actually had a very successful giant Jho hunt!  only one KO (me ... blerg) but then we rocked him pretty hard.

Yeah, I'm usually one of the last to join in so it happens. No big deal. Better someone else join the hunt than have me drop out during a giant Jho hunt when every weapon counts.

Besides, the Damascus armor set I really wanna use for that still isn't finish.

By the way Maxi, I know you've used Adrenaline before but I've seen a few hunters take that skill to another level. Guild hat, Soulhunter Jacket, with Leather pants. Gonna assume the waist was the Chakra Waistlet but I'm not sure. Not sure if any gemming is required but basically you'll have Adrenaline & if/when you die Fortify kicks in & you'll return stronger which will boost the power of Adrenaline once your life drops low again. Of course if you die again Fortify hits you with yet another attack boost & couple that with Adrenaline...

Oh & if you color change the hat & pants white you'll look like a cowboy.

Yeah I've seen that type of setup. I think I have the soul hunter melee body.

I need to work on getting the Leather Pants from the Rage Match event quest to roll around again. One of the sets I'm working on is an Adreniline +2 gunner set.I have all the parts except the pants.Basically I have all the Diablos+ gunner parts and Barroth waist and the last part is the Leather pants. I may end up deleting one of my Melee sets from my 20 equipment sets.I'm reserving the last 2 spots for a Crag and a Normal shot gunning set.

Anyway I think I'm nearly finished making all the melee weapons I want to make.Most of the upgrades I need rare parts from Ala and the final offline boss. I may wait for Super Ala to roll around again since the majority of the parts are easier to get from that event quest.

Working on getting a Soulhunter gunner jacket myself. Only ever successfully did that quest once & I used the tags to upgrade my Hellhunter. Both Diablos seem to always go straight for me.

What do you have to do to get the pants anyways?

You have to do the Rage Match quest which is the 2 Deviljho arena event quest.Only did it once so far.

I have the helmet and chest armor. I have upgraded them to the 30 defense range. All I need is the other parts to complete the set. Also, I apologize for playing so sloppily last night but I was sort of tired and my skills are lowered when that happens.
