According to Famitsu the 3DS LL has sold 192k units in 2 days.
NSMB2 has sold 413k in the same amount of time (It's unclear if that includes digital sales or not)

So the XL has sold more in 2 days than the Vita has in over 3 months.

Isn't Crytek UK busy with Homefront 2 at the moment?
Regardless, if we do see another TimeSplitters game it will mostly be a Free to Play Online game due to Crytek's new direction.

If we do see the Crytek game on the WiiU it will probably be Crysis 3 or Homefront 2 (THQ will probably want to put that on anything that can run it)

My cousin's father's brother's son told me that Sony Allstar Battle Royal is going to include Mr Game and Watch

You heard it hear first.

Seriously, these made up rumour are pretty ridiculous this year. We have had:
Metroid Starfox Fusion Saga
Acid Ghost
Nintendo buying back Rare.

There's most likely some more I don't recall. I suppose a new console launch usually attracts bullshit artists.

I know, so is Odysssey to the West (they're by the same developer). That's why I brought it up.

Enslaved was published by Namco Bandai and was also released on the 360.

Therefore it is not a Sony IP. Heavenly Sword is a Sony IP. That is most likely why Nariko was chosen.

105
I'll be using mine as a Gamecube since my actual Gamecube resides in another house.

I was thinking about selling it but i'm a hoarder at heart. Added with the fact its hardly worth anything anymore I'll just hang on to it.

Raiden but not Snake? Nariko but not Monkey (Odyssey to the West)? Lame.

Most likely because Heavenly Sword was published by Sony and is a PS3 exclusive.

No Snake however is odd. Must be Nintendo's meddling.

I don't see why they are including both Evil Cole and regular Cole. That's like Dr Mario/Mario all over again. I also wonder if it's going to be regular Dante or the new one everyone seems to hate.

The WiiU launch lineup is shaping up to be one hell of a lineup

I fail to see how detractors can continue to claim it's a crap launch. Compared to all other console launches in the last decade the WiiU's holds up.

Marvelous are absolutely killing it with the 3DS. Both Harvest Moon and Ruin Factory have sold outstanding (Compared to other entries in the franchise). On the other hand Level 5 haven't been going that well. Guild 01 bombed, so did Girl's RPG and Time Travelers.

Another surprise is the return of Fire Emblem. 420,000 is amazing for the series. Depending on how Nintendo market it it could atleast double that amount when released in the West next year. Hopefully 3DS Ambassadors got sucked in with Sacred Stones and will get the game.

Crytek's prior statement was that Crysis 3 was "not a fat chance" of being on WiiU. Which is a double negative.

So technically they never said Crysis 3 would not be on WiiU

Considering Ocarina of Time 3DS out sold Skyward Sword in Japan Zelda isn't dead yet. I wonder if Skyward Sword broke even. It is the most expensive Nintendo game to date.

@Luigi Dude
I believe Skyward sword has dropped from $50 in the US. It's probably one of the few high profile Nintendo games to have a quick price drop this generation (besides Other M of course)

Nintendo canned it during the years they decided to refocus to casual titles. Besides I doubt Battalion Wars 2 sold decently.

Regardless some of the assets look interesting http://www.unseen64.net/2011/06/14/knight-wars-wii-cancelled/

A better idea is that Nintendo get Headstrong back to make the medieval version of battalion wars they were making before Nintendo canned it.

I'm still wondering how Nintendo Australia got away with including the AC adapter down here. They are basically controlled by the Dark Lords of Japan these days. It's also very surprising that NoE went along with Japan. With how things are these day it would have been more likely if NoE included an AC adapter but NoA didn't

Strange times indeed.

I'm actually interested in learning about programming, i'm currently a complete novice in the area. Does anyone with knowledge in this area think this is an alright starting point to learn the basics about programming?

Nintendo should just headhunt current and ex Sega talent. Drag Yu Suzuki out of Sega's basement and make a spiritual sequel to Shenmue. Buy out Prope and make it a first party developer, from the few trailers they released Rodeo had potential. Instead of Nintendo buying publishers outright they should just do what they have done in the past, ND Cube is basically home to ex Hudson employees. Brownie Brown is made up of ex Square employees. I'm pretty sure Nintendo headhunted some Capcom developers after they worked on the Gameboy Zelda games.

Hell this strategy could apply to other Japanese developers. Igarashi is in a similar position as Suzuki at the moment. Get him to make a 2D Metroid game.

In my opinion this is a much better and a more Nintendo like approach of poaching talent.

117
I thoroughly enjoyed Dinosaur Planet. I may have been initially disappointed that it was nothing like Lylat Wars(probably one of my favourite games) but it was still a great near launch title for the Gamecube. I don't really see where all the hate comes from.

General Gaming / Re: What Makes A Sonic Adventure Game?
« on: July 25, 2012, 11:50:15 AM »

Adventure 3 already happened. . .  . . . 06 was basically a "Sonic Adventure" title anyway. People wanting Adventure 3 are blinded by nostalgia.

Whatever Sega does with their next Sonic game they need to ensure that it launches on Nintendo consoles. This generation Sonic has sold the best on the Wii, hell i'm pretty sure Colours nearly outsold generations. A Sonic game for WiiU released mid next year would sell.

119
I wish Nintendo would translate all the Fire Emblems we missed out on in the west. It is hands down my favourite Nintendo franchise (along with Star Fox). Seeing as we missed out on the second DS game I doubt it is likely sadly.

If Nintendo was going to buy any Japanese third party publisher in the near future it will most likely be Tecmo-Koei. Nintendo seems to be building strong ties with them, farming out Other M to Team Ninja, publishing Samurai Warriors 3 and Ninja Gaiden 3 and by the looks of it funding the Fatal Frame series.

I doubt Sega will be for sale anytime soon, that's why Sega-Sammy is bothering with the restructuring and refocusing on key franchises, they still think Sega can be profitable.

What i'd like to know is how much both Sega and Tecmo- Koei are worth. I doubt Nintendo would pay excessive amounts of money to buy one of the publishers out.

121
I doubt it will happen in the next decade or two

Besides the Virtual boy I don't think Nintendo has ever had an unprofitable console. Sega never completely reached the mainstream market popularity they coveted. The killed any momentum they had with the Mega drive with the toxic add-ons and then launched the disaster of the Saturn. Finally when they began to turn around their fortunes with the Dreamcast it was too late, they had bled far too much money.

Nintendo still have their warchest from the recent DS and Wii years that they have hardly touched. even if they go through the next two generations emulating Gamecube like success they will still be profitable enough to continue on.

The PSP version releases next week so it will be interesting to see how that goes compared to Vita/3DS. Either way Level-5 shot themselves in the foot. They probably should have chose one platform to release TT on and stuck to it.

123
I think Sakamoto should make another 2D Metroid. Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission are great games.. Other M is probably the biggest game he has ever directed plus being the first 3Dish game he has taken a considerable part in (His role in the Prime series was probably minor). Sakamoto shouldn't be ridden off and dumped in the EAD basement making downloadable games like Igarashi and Suzuki for the rest of his career.

I think Sakamoto has atleast one great Metroid game left in him. Just don't expect him to make a 3D masterpiece.

It's going to be bundled with Nintendoland, well in the West atleast.

Had a couple of gift cards to spend. I won Project Zero 2 in a competition.

I tried out the first couple of levels in Epic Yarn an i'm really enjoying it.
I played through the tutorial level of Disaster, and the story is already insane.
