Well, I didn't feel like posting DS screens in the Tales topic in the Wii section, so here's a whole new thread!

Update (July 23): TRAILER

Says the battle system (deemed the "Dimension Slide LMBS") will be a mix of Tales of the Abyss' "Flex-Range LMBS" and Tales of Destiny's "Aerial LMBS"...

Looks rather tasty, so hopefully Namco brings this one over...

The images are not only too wide, but the file sizes are too large.  Bill needs some serious banning.

Also, wasn't there already a Tales game released on DS that never made it here?  Why would this be any different?

Is this a fake game? or are they deliberately ripping off Future Trunks from DBZ?

Come on make up an original character design or something.

I hear the story plot revolves around the character Sknurt who is put on a quest to get 7 legendary items that can grant a wish.

The REAL story summary:

The story for Innocence centers on Luca, a resident of the peaceful capital city of Regnam. Luca, son of a merchant, has special powers, although he's not alone, as others like him have started appearing in the town of late. His personality is said to be a bit different from your standard RPG character; in fact, the game's producers feel his role is somewhat switched with that of the heroine, Iria.

A more dominant female character?  That should provide for some interesting dialogue and story segments... =D

Tales of the Tempest wasn't made by the Namco Tales team - it was outsourced to Dimps (also responsible for Sonic Rush).. If this is an internal project it might be different.

It's actually the story of Future Trunks from the mysterious 4th timeline arc created during the Cell Saga.

Okay, got it to play...

You know, the last few minutes really reminded me of the anime KIBA. The dark government room, the tall horned guy (looked kinda like Amil Gaul) and a white-haired boy running through a desolate landscape...

That boy sounds so squeaky he seems like Bill's type.

How so?

You miss took me. What I meant was that it actually looks like every other RPG out there.

They just all have the same style; cel-shaded or not. And unless your fans of manga or anime, then you aren't going to notice the difference, your going to notice the similarities. Maybe I came off as a little harsh, but it's more frustration than anything.

Yeah, that's what I did, after about 15 minutes or so it was half way through.

There were comments about a great atmosphere on that page but I didn't notice any of that. There was loads of drawn cutscenes that I bet are all part of the intro if ToS is anything to go by. Nice that an RPG has guns for once but I bet they're just the evil empire's stuff to conquer the world with. Oh and they're driven by something that's made of people.

Time for an update!

The game has received a 35/40 (9/9/9/8) from Famitsu, which makes it the 2nd highest-rated Tales game in Famitsu behind Tales of the Abyss (36/40)...Here's to hoping Namco actually localizes the good Tales DS game! =(

Oh, and here's the full theme song for those who care...It's quite possibly the most epic game vocal song I've ever heard!
