While I'm happy to see a new Avatar series on TV in the near future (and that trailer was excellent, despite them using music from the 3rd season of the first series), I'm still a little wary of this series. The original concept was designed for a short miniseries, and for a miniseries the story was fine. But now it's expanded out into 26 episodes over 2 seasons, and I'm a little concerned there's not enough of a story here to be compelling for that long. Part of what made the first Avatar series so cool was watching Aang slowly master the elements as the year went on and the comet approached for the final showdown. But in this series, Korra already knows 3 of the 4 elements, so for all intents and purposes there's really nothing in the show that should even be able to touch her (especially since she knows Earthbending, which seems the most ridiculously powerful of the 4 bending styles judging by Toph). Where's the drama in a bending battle going to come from? And I didn't see any sign in the trailer that she had companions that traveled with her that gives the writers personalities to bounce off of her.

This series is coming from a very good pedigree, but I'm a little nervous that the concept they've revealed may be a bit too limited for essentially a 2-year show. And yeah, this show should proudly bear the "Avatar" title like its predecessor. The TV series had the name first, and it's not Nickelodeon's problem that James Cameron decided to remake Dances with Wolves with Smurfs and take the Avatar name as well.

There's at least going to be Mako and Bolin. They're brothers who can bend fire and earth, respectively. And last year it was said that Meelo, Tenzin's son, will be joining them too.

And the story they had from the beginning is still there. The show was originally 12 episodes, which is considered "season 1". I read/heard somewhere that we'll get two different stories for each season, and that they should be viewed as two different mini-series about Korra, each with their own villian.

So we'll see how this all turns out later. I mean, seeing as this won't be out til the end of 2012, we have no idea how the final product will turn out. Production of the first season started back in March so yeah.

She will also interact with Toph's daughter, who is the Chief of a specialized Metal-Bending unit in the Police force.

The show is suppose to start with her trying to learn Air-Bending from Tenzin, Aang and Katara's young son. So we'll see how that turns out. There is also a possibility that she does not know the finer details of the bending orders. She probably doesn't know how to produce lightning, blood-bend, or metal-bend. She damn sure doesn't know how to fly or glide like Aang.

Perhaps she will once she gets better at airbending. I mean, Aang already mastered airbending before the first show even started.

Seems that Netflix has season 1-3 on Streaming of Avatar so I'll probably start watching that when I'm done with Fantastic Four.

The animation wasn't 100% bad, but it was just cheaply made. On the other hand the art style was awesome. Theres a fine line between having good animation and having good art, very rarely do things have both. I just am sometimes put off by sliding still frames on scrolling backgrounds, where only the mouth moves. It is a pilot so the animation could improve.

Improv-a-Ganza not renewed? That's lame. I started watching it a few days ago and it's generally pretty humorous. It's essentially just a tweaked version of the American Whose Line Is It Anyway. I don't think it's overall better, but it's enjoyable if you're already a fan of the previous show. I'm glad that Greg Proops and Jeff Davis are getting so much air time on it as well, since they were both favorites of mine on Whose Line... I can't help but not like that John Mangum guy very much though. It seems like his slot could have been better server by others.

Technically it wasn't canceled (basically it was), GSN just won't be ordering new episodes. Networks do this so they don't lose the rights to a show. I don't get GSN, so I couldn't watch it, but the show apparently wasn't getting great ratings.

But you don't count for keeping the show on air.

That was probably the biggest problem. The people who this show appeals to wouldn't have GSN but, I'll but you it be huge on Hulu.
