Does GameInformer Mag suggest Rev headpiece?
« on: April 07, 2006, 12:25:59 PM »
Observe the following blurry image of GameInformer's first pages of their Ubi Soft Red Steel exclusive.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/elmoco/124817433/

Those small images on the right? They seem to show a variety of activities, freehand, freehand and nunchuck, a freehand controller with a black "hilt" attached to it to simulate a knife or sword...

and third image from the bottom...putting on a pair of transparent see-through glasses?

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Maybe.  How would they cram decent technology into glasses that small without it costing a fortune?  I'd assume that if such technology existed then we probably would have heard about it by now.  It does look like he's putting on some glasses of some sort.

I think the sword hilt idea is really creative.

Bah, now I'm leaning more towards he's just pushing the remote and nunchuck against the sides of his head. Sorry for the commotion.

Well, as long as it attaches snugly...I don't feel like swinging my "sword" to have the Revmote fly off into the TV... =D

Here's the image blown up 300%.

It looks more like the guy is holding the remote in one hand and the nunchuck attachment in the other.  He's just holding it in a funny way.

EDIT:  Yeah, what Kairon said.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

The only thing I can think of is maybe the glasses could be a head-tracking unit and not a head mounted display... but then why would you make it in the shape of glasses?

Or maybe he's wearing glasses and the head tracker is attached to them?

Nah I don't see any indication of headgear.  He's just demonstrating some possible uses of the controller.

I think he's using the hilt attachment and remote to pretend he's been stabbed through the head, like those novelty arrow things.

Perhaps he feels so "gangsta" he just has to put on shades for the heck of it?
