Things have finally been set up for the investigative power search. This is the thread I will detail it in. Starts Day 2.

So, this is going to tie into the story but since I probably won't write that until this evening so here's a little spoiler. Phoenix Wright does some more investigating. One of those people is the mysterious character Khushrenada. Questioning him reveals 6 Psyche-locks when it comes to a mysterious investigative power to reveal people's true identities.

As any player of the Ace Attorney games knows, there is a bit of investigating and questioning involved. That's what I know want to do with this game. Have you do some questioning and investigating. As you  may have noticed, I'm using our forums and people on it for the plot. Likewise, there are 5 people not playing this game who I have contacted and have agreed to help me out with this. This is how it is going to work.

These mysterious 5 people do not know one another to keep them from giving anyone a helping hand. Each person has been given a piece of evidence to pass on to you if you contact them correctly. The evidence they give you will be used to break my Psyche-locks and gain the investigative power. To contact them correctly, you need to make two comments to the individual. They have been informed of what to look for.

Now, this might seem a little bit complicated but let me give you an example. Let's say Ian Sane was the individual. For instance you might send him a message saying "You are the Batman and you like the Canucks." That is a reference to his avatar and favorite hockey team. This is info readily available to everyone since he has talked about the Canucks before in other threads. There is no rule on how you present your info but before Ian Sane would pass on his secret message and evidence, you would have to give him the two keywords: Batman and Canucks. All 5 mysterious contacts have two keywords they are looking for. When you give them those keywords, they will pass their message on to you.

As far as my Psyche-locks go, you can start questioning me at anytime. The conversation will pause at anytime I ask a question and will resume when you can present the correct piece of evidence to break that lock and move on to the next hurdle. Everyone starts at the same place on the Psyche-locks so I'll start the convo in the next post.

One final thing. Obviously, you are going to want clues as to who to talk to and what to present. For that, I will provide a hint each day in each catagory set up below. However, I'm also going to allow you to ask me 1 question on each subject of your choosing. So you have a chance to be clever and get to the answers faster than other people. You'll get what I mean in a moment.

Investigative Power Psyche-locks
-----------------------------------
Khushrenada: So, you figured out that Bill played video games and was part of a secret group that discussed them. But just because I know about it doesn't mean I was part of it. I'm not into that.

You: Hmmm. Do I have some evidence showing that he is hiding something?
--------------------------------

Hints for the Mysterious 5

Group Clue
Hint 1: All the people with evidence have a common bond.
Hint 2: All the people are players of a game.
Hint 3: That game is mafia. But that doesn't mean they all played in one particular mafia game.
Answers: All mystery people were people who had not signed up for this game but had played a mafia game in the past. Specifically, a game I hosted and where I kept most of the clues were in games I hosted except for one.

Mysterious Person #1
Hint 1: This person is #1
Hint 2: This person started at 22
Hint 3: His keywords are in a picture in a mafia game.
Answers: Insanolord is the answer. The first hint refers to forum statistics. He's #1 for logged on time. His first mafia game is 22. His answer comes from Mafia 26 where he had the role of Blofeld. His keywords were "Blofeld" and his "cat". A picture of Blofeld and his cat is in the sign-up thread.

Mysterious Person #2
Hint 1: This person is #5
Hint 2: This person started at 1
Hint 3: This person's keyword's are found in a mafia game
Answers: BlackNMild2k1 is the answer. He is #5 in time on these forums. Hint 2 refers to a person's first mafia game. He started with Mafia 1. He only played one game with me as host, Mafia 12 and his keywords were "Ness" "Voting Stevey". His character for the game was Ness and his only vote was for Stevey that game.

Mysterious Person #3
Hint 1: This person is #5
Hint 2: This person started at 13
Hint 3: This person's keyword's are found in a mafia game
The answer is Kairon. Kairon has the fifth most posts on the forum. His first game was Mafia 13. Plus, he had a Phoenix Wright avatar. Had to include him. His answers come from Mafia 22, Star Wars mafia. He roleplayed Salacious Crumb and was instrumental in defeating the Senator role. Hence his answer and keywords were: "Salacious Crumb" triumphs over "The Senator".

Mysterious Person #4
Hint 1: This person is #8
Hint 2: This person started at 23
Hint 3: This person's keywords come from a role in a mafia game.
This is Easycure. 8 on the forums for number of posts and first mafia game was 23. His answer comes from Mafia 31, Animal Crossing Wii-Make where he had the role of Cube. His keyword answers were: "Cube" holding up a "Bomb".

Mysterious Person #5
Hint 1: This person is an unverified #1
Hint 2: This person didn't start at 19
Hint 3: This person's keywords come from his first mafia game.
This is Kashogi Y. Stogi. Maxi told him he was to late to play so I thought I'd have some fun by including him somehow. He has no stats unless you count the unofficial king of locked threads stat. Although the Kashogi name first started in Mafia 19, his first game was actually Mafia 13 when he had the name Requiem. Yet in both 13 and 19, he died from inactivity. In the end, I made his keywords: "Requiem" "dies from inactivity".

And there you have it. Answers to the puzzle

So, each day as the game progresses more hints will become available plus you get to ask a question of your choosing for each of the 6 catagories:

Group Clue, Mysterious Person #1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

But be warned. I may at times give a vague answer if the question is broad. The more specific the question, the better chance of forcing me to give a good clue.

For more fun, the mafia can gain this power as well. And for kicks, I'll even let the dead players compete. They just can't pool their resources with the living. But they can work with other dead players. If a dead player is able to locate the investigative power, he can either sit on it or use it to come back into the game but he won't be able to investigate. It's power will be used up to bring him back to life.

Obviously, this is on the honor system. But hopefully it works out well. Enjoy.

One other rule for all you tricky devils out there. I won't outright give the answer away. So, if you ask who is Person #1, I'm not going to respond to that. But if you ask, is person #1 Khushrenada? That's an acceptable direct question. So, you just have to be clever in how you word the question otherwise.

You don't have to bother anyone. I will give you hints and you can ask me a question on each individual each day to help figure out their identities and what to say to them. It's a simple game of logic and deduction with a fantastic reward. Remember, you can pool your findings with other people if you wish to trust them. But only one player can claim the prize. No one is hidden from this investigative power. Even the godfather is exposed. And to add a little extra appeal to the prize, I'll throw in an extra twist. Since a dead player can locate it and use it to come back in the game, a living player can choose to hold on to it in case he gets killed and then bring himself back in the game. Of course, he will not be able to conduct any investigations if he chooses that option.

Anyways, give it a shot. I'm disappointed so many people haven't even tried asking me anything yet. Here's your chance to be a detective. My mysterious people are all interested to see what is going to happen and to be involved in this idea so let's not leave them disappointed.

It's more of a general question about these mystery people and whether its "anyone" or "people playing the game".

Privately though please.

I didn't know Stogi was Requiem.  I suppose I should have mentioned that to Maxi, and he would have figured it out.  I went with oohhboy, because Requiem hasn't been logged in some time!

Now, with the cat, I was planning to send that, but at that point, I figured no one else knew who people were, and I just didn't worry about it.

EasyCure accepted "Death By Inactivity" as a keyword, and not "Bomb."  I'm certain of it, I just went to check, and I didn't say Bomb in the message that elicited your response.  When I asked what the second keyword was, just to know, he even said Death By Inactivity.

It doesn't matter, though, because I think no one else got far enough to really worry about that with the other four.

Hey Khushrenada what about the evidence?
I mean isn't those suppose to unlock something.

Yes. As you know, each player would respond with a message when you gave the correct keywords. In those messages was a piece of evidence for your file/reference. The 5 pieces of evidence were:

"Khushrenada's cat's name is Jiggy", (Insanolord), "Picture of Bill" (BlackNMild2k1), "Khushrenada wins MVP in Mafia 20" (Kairon), "Copy of F-Zero GX" (Easycure) and "Pale's Mafia Game" (Kashogi Y. Stogi). With these peices of evidence you could break my psyche-lock questions. For instance, the answer to my first question is presenting me with the "F-Zero GX game" from Easycure. From the message he gave you and the evidence presented, it shows that I was lying when saying I'm not into video games in the above discussion. This would result in further convo and another psyche-lock, etc, until you broke through all of them and were given the Apollo Bracelet able to investigate and learn everyone's roles or come back from the dead. Interestingly, no dead players tried to pursue it.

Only the mafia went after the investigative power to help protect themselves. Plugabugz was the only other person who tried and he only asked two questions. Oh well.

With the low turnout, a lot of my ideas had to be scraped. I didn't like that since I wanted to do something special for a Phoenix Wright. I finally figured out how I could do that on Monday afternoon and set things up that night. So, like a day.
