Primer-Watch this alone, because if you have a friend and they talk you'll have to watch it again. I'm not sure if I would have got it though. So, watch it a second time anyway.

it was good when i watched it the second time.

The last movie I watched was Adventureland, I liked it a lot. The last new movie I watched was Avengers, I liked it so-so, um best part was seeing the hotness of Scarlett Johansson on the big screen and in 3D. I was a 3D hater up to that very moment.

To be honest I don't keep up with current movies much any more. I don't keep up with current anything actually.

There's nothing 3D about Scarlett Johansson.

I watched Green Lantern, largely because it was on TV. God, what a terrible, terrible movie.

Dredd 3D. Go fucking see this if you like violence, Dredd and action done right. Don't see this if you're a Fascist or libertarian.

The 3D on the other hand was more distraction than an addition. Film makers just aren't 3D ready. If you can go see it in 2D.

Casino Royale. Absolutely aces. Not so sure how I feel about it as a Bond film, but as a regular ol' spy thriller....fantastic. The ball-thwacking was wonderfully gruesome, and Eva Green was wonderfully hot. Fantastic. Is Quantam of Solace worth seeing?

No, just No. QoS is terrible. Even the other bad Bond films(Moonraker, Die anther day) had some sort of cheese factor or good opening to redeem watching it. QoS is just nonsensical rubbish.

Alright. I was really wanting to see Skyfall, and I was hoping that not seeing QoS wouldn't leave me completely confused.

I wouldn't worry about it. QoS is barely connected to CR. There is little point suffering that movie to get the scant "Character development" that Bond undergoes. Go watch it if you must, but do it after Skyfall so QoS doesn't taint it. QoS is mostly filler.

What? In my opinion, QoS is like the real second half to CR. I don't even consider them two separate movies.

It's connected to CR in that it begins pretty much straight after it, but everything between that and the ending is just filler. Not to mention QoS fails on the most basic level as a film. It's so bad you can't even call it boring. When you're not wondering the **** is going on, you're too busy screaming bullshit at the movie screen as things disconnect from the universe that CR established(The Real World) as increasingly absurd things "happen". It's just a bad movie that needs it's empty guts pulled out and something of substance put in.

I'm with oohhboy. QoS certainly isn't the worst Bond movie but it's still a bad one. The plot is stupid, the characters dispensable, and the villain boring. After the Casino Royale (one of my favourite Bond films) QOS was a huge letdown.

Fortunately Skyfall is a fantastic Bond film. It's still somewhat removed from Royale's focus on realism, but it's an infinitely more successful sequel than QOS. The villain is suitably insane, the plot is actually pretty engaging and (with the exception of one instance in which a CGI creature is used) all the set pieces look great.
Gouge away.

I tried to get into 007 but never could. I have the first six all on VHS but beyond that I never cared for them. My mom seems to like the old ones but my dad hates anything remotely British so we never watched them growing up. I did like the Casino Royal it was good, but I didn't watch the one that came after.

I have a sister whose favorite movies are those Bourne movies and they always reminded me of 007 so I kept trying to get her to watch one to see if maybe she would like them, she started with Casino Royal and now is a fan.

Saw Wreck It Ralph on thw weekend and enjoyed. Lots of good VG cameos. Mostly forgettable kid fluff, but looks good, has decent sense of humour. I recommend catching up with it at your leisure.

I saw it on Saturday too, great movie and one I recommend everyone here see. I hoped that the real video game characters would have more than just cameos, but it's fine. And the other people in the Fix-It Felix, Jr. video game are assholes towards Ralph.

Skyfall was surprisingly good. The writing was witty and well paced, and i appreciated the blatanly Central London feel of it at times. A few of the scenes were filmed behind my office.

It was very much an M story, but i am mad at how they killed off Judi Dench. To me 007 has not been about whether who will be the next Bond but if Judi Dench will be in it. She is really the star of the series, not Bond.

If Judi Dench can fire a gun and do some light action scenes (and helen mirren can too!) then there's no excuse why Sarah Jessica Parker (and the like) can't do it.

Well, for one thing, nobody should have to be exposed to Sarah Jessica Parker.

Best movie i've seen this year. Everyone should go and see it.

True, but Helen Mirren with a machine gun wearing a wedding dress is one of the most beautiful shots i've seen in a movie in some time. If she can do THAT then i would love to see other actresses do stuff.

Helen Mirren firing a Heavy Machine Gun was strangely engrossing. Then you have her firing MP5Ks without flinching is just pure style.

That said, I will have to agree with Halbred. Sarah Jessica Parker has never ever been more than a 3/10.

I don't get out much obviously so I don't see a lot of new movies but I did just buy Captain America on blu ray. I gotta say it was much better than that Avengers flick. Avengers was okay for a while but I started to get dizzy towards the end. Actually I was kidding about the 3D, I still hate it.

As for Captain America, I was surprised at how much I did like it. I was expecting it to be mediocre but it was actually  a very good film. My parents who hate comic book movies even liked it.

What's weird is the main villain in Uncharted 3 bears an uncanny resemblance to Helen Mirren. Coincidence?

I give her more then a 3/10.  She has some good covers.  I put her 5/10 average.

I'd give her an 8/10 on hocus pocus and a 2/10 now.

Reverse that for Kathy Najimy
