TalkBack / Re: New Fatal Frame Game Coming to Wii U

Feel like with the eshop now, we will at least see a digital release here in the US. Need games of any kind at this point. And not like another average Zombi U is coming.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: StreetPass Relay lowered to 3?

Maybe you didn't stay long enough to pick up all six?

It's always instant. Whatever you get when the light goes green is all of them.

I got 6 like a week ago, so I think you are just having bad luck. I've gotten as low as 3 before.

TalkBack / Re: Comparing Wii U's Sales to GameCube, Wii
« on: April 22, 2014, 11:36:17 PM »
Let's look at the bright side: we're going to find out what Nintendo does once it has delivered its worst-selling mainline console in history.

Virtual Boy, just saying.

And yes, I am especially enjoying that all those casuals they appealed to last gen left them, just as most of us said they would rather than transitioning into deeper experiences.  The Blue Ocean strategy was ultimately a failure, just as suspected.

Blue Ocean strategy was a HUGE short term success, just not a long term one. If it had been a failure, there might not any Nintendo system right now, just handhelds. Even then, DS was a huge success thanks to Blue Ocean, and 3DS still has some of that.

I think the real tragedy here is the Vita doing 10k, or 1/7 of the total of the doomed console.

What's a Vita? ;)

I must also say that there is sick, almost perverse obsession with the Wii U's massive failure.

No more, I'd say, than there was a sick, almost perverse obsession with the Wii's massive success during its heyday.

It's been curious watching these forums over the years and watching the rise and fall of the love for sales numbers among Nintendo fans:

GameCube years: "Sales don't matter! We have great games, and that's all that matters!"

Wii years: "It doesn't matter that Nintendo isn't making what we want! Look at all that money they're making, and that's all that matters!"

Wii U years: "Sales don't matter! We have...OK...ish...games, and that's all that matters!"

It's amusing watching how quickly everyone here seemed to love sales numbers when Nintendo was printing money with the DS and Wii, yet now despise and mock their importance now that the Wii U is a colossal, borderline-catastrophic failure not even Nintendo wants to make games for and the 3DS is kind of treading water.

Even when Wii sales were killing it, the gaming media for the most part focused on the lack of 3rd party support. Gotta focus on the negative, it's what people read.

I have fun with my WiiU, I'm sure 3 or 4 others on this website who actually own it do too. How about a little less bashing for the few fans it has?

DOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!

Yeah, I get it. Things look bad for WiiU. Not for Nintendo folks. 3DS is doing just fine. Nintendo survived Virtual Boy, and Gamecube. They're going to survive the WiiU failure as well.

I've at least realized now that Mario Kart 8 isn't going to sell systems. And hey, it's going to be intesting in July when we have a new president of Nintendo when Iwata is switched to a new position (No one is fired in Japan).

But folks, Nintendo isn't doomed. Nintendo hasn't lost it's way, they just forgot how to market a console. They still have handhelds down pat.

Anyone know if it's 200 new songs, or all the songs from the original, plus new ones?

TalkBack / Re: Season Pass, DLC Coming to Mario Golf: World Tour
« on: April 22, 2014, 01:25:54 PM »
I want this game more than any other in 2014, but $15 for DLC? Heck no.

Especially since it's Day 1 DLC. Meaning it should be included in the game.

Shame on you Nintendo. Still buying the game, but skipping DLC.

I usually hate people who are mad about games not getting a 10... but uh, WTF? Unless these graphical things really are a WiiU new problem, HOW DARE YE!

To the GALLOWS!

TalkBack / Re: Mario Golf: World Tour Demo Confirmed for Europe

Good for Europe. I kind of don't want a demo only because I just forced myself to stop playing Mario Golf GBC on the 3DS VC so I could have a break from Golf before this comes out.  Cannot wait for May 2.

Wish they would do this with more games than just Monopoly. I have 3 Monopoly sets already, I don't really want more of them.

General Gaming / Looking to trade a game on Steam
« on: March 26, 2014, 11:57:31 PM »
I just bought the Humble Rhythm Bundle. I already own Bit.Trip.Runner on 3DS. Does anyone have a copy of a game on Steam they would like to trade me for it? Let me know, thanks.

I'm pretty open to whatever trade, as long as I don't already have the game.

I voted for Advance Wars because its the only game I own but never got to use the wifi feature. But I'll be happy to play MK Wii, Brawl, Goldeneye if they win. I'd have to go buy Excitebots if that won, but I might if it does.

TalkBack / Re: Why Wii U Needs Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball
« on: March 17, 2014, 02:00:12 PM »
R.B.I. not coming to WiiU or 3DS was a low blow.I mean the 3DS is selling well. There is no good excuse not to bring it to at least that system.

I would be all for a Ken Griffery reboot, or a Baseball Stars reboot, or something. Heck at this point I just want a better Virtual console option on WiiU and 3DS (again, Baseball Stars 1 from the NES, please to celebrate opening day in 2 weeks)!

I was with Neal in that I was a rare serious sports gamer who did it on Nintendo system. I have MLB the Show, but well I want a Nintendo option as well.

For this game and warmer weather, May can't get here fast enough.

Didn't some date carry over from the Denpa 1 to 2? I want to pick the one game up during the sale, but should I get the first one first? Or is there no need?

TalkBack / Re: Physical Games vs. Digital Games: The Face-Off
« on: February 20, 2014, 09:37:57 AM »
To destroy the digital arguments:

1) Most games that are rare nowadays are of the older generations. Just don't wait to buy the game. And the one from generations are not only hard to find physical, but probably not even available digital. Once something is available digital, it won't have that crazy physical value (with some exceptions). Ikaruga I'm going to pick up on Steam now, but that's a rare case of an old hard to find gem being reborn on digital.

2) "If I drop my copy of Chrono Trigger into the bath, it's done for." - You're kidding right? Who takes their copy of Chrono Trigger into the bath? Seriously, doesn't count.

3) "As I mentioned in the introduction, I'm a chronic video game seller. I've sold almost every single piece of gaming hardware and software I've ever owned, and I've regretted almost every sale."  - And this is why we shouldn't be listening to your argument to go digital....

4) "The Storage Solution: Standards, Standards, Standards" When your SD card dies or "gets dropped into the bath...." you lose all of your games. Not just the one game you dropped in. All of them.5) This is just you babbling about nonsense. I can still physically see I own the game, and my friends are still in awe of my plastic cases with next to nothing in them.

TalkBack / Re: Physical Games vs. Digital Games: The Face-Off
« on: February 19, 2014, 01:39:11 PM »
I see there is no argument for what digital is better than physical. You guys make claim this is simply a link error, but it's Fruedian slip.

Because physical is better than digital. I hate buying any game digitally unless there is no other choice.

I own a physical copy of Ducktales Remastered on the WiiU. I gotta be one of like 7 people who have it, but once I heard there was a disc version, kept me from buying it digital.

Same will go for Wii Sports Club. Not buying until that retail version comes over here to America.

On the 3DS I am digital all the way. Imagine having a handheld with every first party Nintendo game ever created for the system on it and a ton of awesome indie and 3rd party titles. That is one heck of a handheld to have and own. Game sizes on handhelds are still small enough to make that a reality.

This would be great if it were true. But Nintendo isn't going to publish 75% of their first party content on the VC. I think that's pretty evident by now.

96
Wish they'd release some of their 2nd and 3rd tier first party VC games. Don't we all own all of these games by now, or at least the ones we want? Come on Nintendo. You have a huge library of first party titles, get them on the systems!

Only one con is good, but that is a big con. People will wait to buy it if they think it's short. WiiU owners need some length to their games, since they don't get many.

Going to be interesting to see how wide of a range of scores we see today on this game.

I look forward to the follow up story a month after the game's release on other platforms to acknowledge its cancellation. They stopped working on the WiiU version probably back in October when Rayman Legends tanked on all platforms.
