Two rounds of that & I hit my urgent which to my surprise was not Deviljho.
Surprise! Deviljho is not the toughest monster.

When it's on the ground, its weaknesses are water and ice. When it takes flight, its weaknesses are fire and dragon. It's difficult to hit it when it's flying so a water or ice weapon would be better than a fire one. Though most people use a dragon weapon on it, because they have the highest attack, and dragon still some some slight extra damage.

Technically, its weaknesses are paralysis and sleep. However, it isn't worth it to use a regular weapon of this type, since they don't have very high attack. Instead, this works only for a gunner, preferably two gunners, who will do two things: paralyze it so the others can hack away at it; and put it to sleep, then have everyone lay two Barrel Bomb L+ by its head. Everyone should bring ingredients for more Barrel Bombs, as well as material to make ammo to give to the gunners, as it can be sleeped/paralyzed at least five times usually.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone in our group has the equipment to gun this one. I know a few gunners myself, but I don't know if they would be willing to help us.

So fire is the attack to watch out for?
One of many. It also has a dragon attack it uses regularly, and Rathalos armour is weak in that area so watch out. When it takes flight, it will use thunder and ice attacks. The ice ones are pretty easy to dodge since you can see them coming, but the thunder one is pretty quick so be careful.

It has fire resistance naturally and I think it has guard +2. Which pretty much makes all attacks not effective.
That's what Guard Boost does. Guard +2 lowers knock-back and reduces stamina depletion, but it does not increase the number of attacks which can be blocked.

I'm guessing I wasn't clear enough before in the game, but if everyone stands on/near those ledges you can get Alt to ram into them and get stuck in the rock, letting you beat on him for an extra bit. There are two or three of them in the level.

Ah, that's another tip that I usually forget about. There are two of those rocks, one on either side. It can get stuck in one of the rocks if it does the dragon ram attack into it. I think after two times, the rock will crumble, so it can be done only a few times. Some people go up there and use a Hunting Horn to grab its attention.

I hit HR 26 earlier today playing alongside my brother (Dyryn - if you guys want to add him, I'm sure he'd appreciate that).

Working towards finishing my Lagiacrus set -- still need one horn, and lots of Dragonite Ore.  Also, getting really close to my next lance...the Acrus Lance.

I'll try to play this Tuesday if I'm not having dinner with a friend of mine that night.

Yeah, I knew he was after Deviljho just thought he would be after the next star rank. Ah well.

Hmm one of my strongest weapons is a paralyzing switch-axe actually(downside being after I fully upgraded it, it has 3 slots but -25% affinity)...I have a hammer of that type too but upgrading it has been a pain.

Not sure which of my armors would be good for this job. May have to make a new one or combine what I have & see what the heck will happen.

Ok well I just finished all the quests for online. I'll work on a gunner set in the near future.

Has anybody gunned here in our club?

Alright I found a good sleep bombing set. I have one of the parts of the gun currently and will try to get another part before 8pm PST when I get online. Also once I get online I would like to fight Barioth since I need a part from it.

Edit 1:I'll get on in 30 mins.I need to check something.

Edit 2:I'm getting on now.

Armak it was nice playing with you last night. Were you disconnected when you left. If so it was bad timing since I captured Diablos right after.

That's what I started the game out with... but it got so expensive in the early stages.. constantly buying basic ammo to survive in the game.  That's when I switched to lances.  I just bought a Bolt Axe last night after completing my Lagiacrus armor set, so I can't wait to get started using that.

Possibly me. I need to make some money before I head online. Also need to gem in some things into my gunner set. I probably won't gun but I'll show off the set.

That seems like a good choice but it has a -20 in thunder as well as a -10 in fire resistance.Might be able to gem out one but not the other.

Dober armor I think might be the best choice. The materals come from lots of monsters so it could take a while to get.It has a 40 resistance to Dragon. Only real weakness is fire but you can gem that out.

Just eat out the other GK. I always try to eat out my weaknesses. Getting the food skill 'Foodie' helps because you keep your food skills after death so shoot for that too if you can.

I took a nap because I was feeling exhausted when I got home much earlier tonight and just woke up. Hopping online now.

I thought about Dober but getting Dragonbone Relics would require taking down Deviljho a few times. Thinking upper Gobul + armor charm or something may work.

Other plan would be to use my lower rank Jhen armor with Sneak & hope that dragon would be too occupied with killing my partners to ever notice me.

Didn't even notice the thunder weakness until just now. Probably because I was wearing my Lagiacrus armor(I wear a +8 Thunder charm with it) while I was looking at the specs.
