LOL, you bake cookies and cake for D&D nights? All we get is frozen pizza and beer. Cookies just sound better.

pizza and beer is usually the ol' d&d standby

cooookies and sometimes caaaakes

oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips & walnuts! these bad boys were specifically for playing d&d the following night

Hi Jay-Z!

What is your position, might I ask?

Also, tell us a bit about yourself, what games and stuff do you like?

as far as games go, i like katamari games, harvest moon (64 is the best), grand theft auto, de blob... right now i'm pining for animal crossing games, but i've been unemployed for three months and i don't really see me acquiring any anytime soon.

my other hobbies include sleeping until 2, tracking packages, creative non-fiction, animals, trying to get into the sonic that just opened in nj (no luck ;_;), wearing cute outfits, live shows and baking*.

ANY QUESTIONS???

hi all. my name is jen and i am not really new to the internet but i'm new to the nwr staff...i'm only here because neal & lauren promised me cupcakes...have yet to receive them....???

I hear the comics have some racism in them, so it does seem to be a product of the times McCay lived in.

Have you heard of Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend? It's another series McCay wrote. Apparently it is highly regarded as well but I've never read it.

i haven't read either :[ yeah i heard that nemo has some racist/slavery type stuff in it, but unfortunately, what else can you expect? any old literature has aspects of what was going on in the world at the time it was written, as ugly as it is...

:o

You like Little Nemo?!? You are now promoted to Super Awesome Person in my book. I loved the movie and have also been pining for that collection. A lot of the ones on Amazon are pretty expensive, though and some of them seem to be pretty poor quality. I'm half hoping that they release a new 'uber' collection.

I'm trying to collect all of the Calvin and Hobbes treasury collections as well. I've found a number of them at garage sales and the like.

yeah i was obsessed with little nemo as a kid and recently rewatched the movie on youtube the other night (it is still just as good!)

the comics look sooo good from what i can tell, but yeah, v. expensive at amazon and even more expensive at barnes & noble! :( so frustrating

i'm a huge comic nerd, but i tend to lean toward the non-superhero genre.

sorting by author:

jeffrey brown- clumsy, unlikely, AEIOU, i am going to be small, minisulk, little things, every girl is the end of the world for me, funny misshapen body

daniel clowes- david boring, ghost world, 20th century eightball, ice haven

craig thompson- blankets, carnet de voyage

liz prince- delayed replays, will you still love me if i wet the bed?

chris ware- jimmy corrigan

adrian tomine- optic nerve series

andy runton- owly (the way home & the bittersweet summer)

charles burns- black hole

marjane satrapi- persepolis

scott mccloud- zot

i've also read the watchmen

right now i am pining for the collection of little nemo: adventures in slumberland that were drawn in the early 1900s... supposed to be very surreal and even darker than the movie i loved so dearly as a kid :3
