New Famitsu Scores
« on: March 01, 2005, 06:15:19 PM »
Famitsu reviews some new DS games for Japan.

The latest issues of the popular Famitsu Magazine in Japan has reviewed a pair of new Nintendo DS titles. Reviewed in the new issue are Namco's Pac-Pix and Meteos, developed by Q-Entertainment, which is headed up by Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Mizuguchi is most well known for his  work on Space Channel 5.

Pac-Pix scored well and earned a total score of 33 from four reviewers (8, 8, 8, 9). Meteos scored an outstanding 38 (9, 9, 10, 10). This is obviously a very high score, and is quite surprising.

Pax-Pix is scheduled for release on April 26th. Meteos does not yet have a US release date, though a US release is expected.

I was getting these two games already, but now I'm getting them and being more excited about it.

I'm so happy for Meteos' score. Masahiro Sakurai and Tetsuya Mizuguchi (this article totally spelled that wrong o_O) seem to make an awesome team. They're both developers I really look up to. Tetsuya Mizuguchi's views on the game industry are very akin to my own. He's a great guy. And Masahiro Sakurai? Do I even have to say? ... Do I? I have one word for you. KIRBY!

I'm just really impressed at the scores DS games have gotten...Yoshi Touch & Go, Another Code, and now Meteos and Pac Pix have gotten over 30 from Famitsu...This has me very excited for what could be coming in the future!

This should shut the people who bash the DS for having no games up.

I guess with high scores there is some sort of game in Pac-Pix.  It looked fun, but really simple and easy, then again I haven't read much about it.  And that's great for meteos, it's only another reason for me to want it.
It may be simple, but it ain't easy.

Wow! How many years has it been since I've seen Famitsu scores from PGC? What happened, you weren't allowed or something?

Meteos sounds vaguely familar, maybe because of the buzz that's going around, no doubt there will be more after this.

Meteos might be the system seller for me. I thought it would be Castlevania or Metroid.

What else would you expect from the man who brought us Rez.
I find the lack of sig images annoying. I have this nice image I use as my sig in all my other forums and I can't use it here.  So instead I'll just complain...

I dunno, a game that plays like a piece of turd and has abstract graphics every single low-budget game tends to use these days?

Considering my distaste in Lumines, but interest in Meteos, I think a lot had to do with Sakurai's persistant will to improve a game...
