Nintendo Gaming / RE:Revolution and Demasked...connection?
« on: January 11, 2005, 01:15:04 AM »
From the Warp Pipe Forums, A direct quote by Warp Pipe's project manager, Chad Paulson.

As for demasked, it will not be announced on or before the PSP launch.

The words "will not" were bolded in Chad's original post.

"Peach-Basket Peach!" That's very clever.

I do think the character models could've been a whole lot better though.
To fit better in a street setting (If that's even possible) I would've preferred for the models to be more reminiscent of the ones in Smash Bros Melee, where their colors weren't as vibrant, and textures were more detailed.

Oh well. I'm still buying this.

I've heard this rumor too, but I'm yet to find any confirmation on it.

It's not been confirmed, and I don't like jumping to conclusions, but I do expect Nintendo to be assisting Warp Pipe Technologies in the development of the Demasked service.

Someone's gotta be paying for those commercials.

Here's some info on Demasked I've been able to uncover from the Warp Pipe forums.
All of this has been confirmed by Chad Paulson, the Warp Pipe project manager.

Make of this what you will.

  • Demasked is not tunneling.
  • Expect to see Demasked commercials in the future.
  • "Demasked will only cost $149.99, for which to buy your Nintendo DS." (Meaning It'll be free! )
  • "Instead of Xlink being Demasked's rival, Microsoft is the new target."

    Double loves speculation time. =)

Warp Pipe Technologies is currently working on the DeMasked service.

StarCraft DS would be quite a pleasant surpise, and considering StarCraft 64 was Nintendo-published, I wouldn't completely rule out the possiblity.

Mawaru Made in Wario comes with a built-in motion sensor, I suppose that was enough to get it into the hardware category.
Still odd to see it there though.

TalkBack / RE:Mario Appears in NBA Street V3
    « on: December 16, 2004, 10:38:21 PM »
It's reported in IGN's Mailbag that only Mario, Luigi, and Peach are the playable Nintendo all-stars, so there'll be no Wario or Yoshi in the game.

Oh well. I'll still be picking this one up for sure, because I'm in need of a new NBA game, and I really enjoyed the first NBA Street, though I'd only rented it.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Announces MP3/Video Player Add-on

I wonder if this is what that big "Anti-PSP" announcement is supposed to be.
If it is, I'm a bit underwhelmed, because I was hoping it would be something game-related, or even something about the DS online plans.

That's not to say the DS media player doesn't interest me, but I'm just hoping that Nintendo will soon have a bigger announcement than this one to combat the PSP.

A - Shoot,  B - Jump did work well for Metroid Prime, but it was an original game, so it didn't take long for me to get used to.

This is not the case with the MegaMan Collection though, or even the NES Metroid port unlockable it Prime. Playing those games with A - Shoot, B - Jump is much more difficult, because it's tampering with the control scheme I've used with those games for over a decade.

To me it's like switching the positions of the brake and accelerator on a car. (Even though I've never driven. =P)

Wow. Your decision on whether or not to buy a DS was based solely on how PictoChat funtions?
I'm not sure, but PicoChat may have worldwide chat capabilities with Wi-Fi. I don't think that's been confirmed though. Anyone know for sure?

I'm not sure if GameCube is in 2nd place anymore, but the reason it's competing so closely with the Xbox in worldwide sales, is because of Xbox's simply abysmal sales in Japan.

To my knowledge, Xbox has been outselling GC in most every other region for quite some time.

"Gameboy" is a very well-established brand name, so I could see this happening to the PSP as well.

Portable gaming system is to "Gameboy".
As facial tissue paper is to "Kleenex".

I would buy that. I seriously would.

Nintendo is now the primary shareholder in the Seattle Mariners, and have just announced a Mario Baseball game. I wonder if it's more than a coincidence.

NIMF is not a Christian group.

And what does this report have to do with censorship? It just recommends what games kids should/shouldn't play. Actual censorship would involve editing and removing aspects from a game.

You won't get spammed from the DeMasked mailing list.
"DeMasked" is a service being made by Warp Pipe Technologies, developers of tunnelling software which allows LAN-enabled GameCube games to be played online.

Though it's yet to be revealed what DeMasked actually is/does, it's safe to assume it'll bring DS online in some shape or form.
