Not really. Having a picture of a woman is acceptable.

I assure you, I have not yet begun to make a big deal of it.

I just noticed that having a pink bomb with a crank in the shape of a heart as my avatar may lead to unwanted assumptions.

Your thoughts?

I've found myself playing as a medic. Don't know why, I just find myself being most useful when I'm trying to keep my team alive. Plus bonesaw for close combat.

As said before, the classes are great, and each relates to the others really well. It's one of those few FPS games where teamwork is more important then individual skill.

Since a recent update to the Source SDK broke the utilities needed to compile models, I've been playing through Paper Mario until Valve manages to fix it . It could take a while. As such, my Avatar is Bombette. I'm still not 100% happy with the .gif, but oh well.

Mainly it was because I found the book boring.

I was expecting something better than what I read, and I was looking forward to it when the owner of the bookstore I bought it from told me it was a lot better than the movie.  For me, the movie which is no great piece of film, is better than the book.

The themes of the story didn't bother me, it was just that it was boring and I kept waiting for the story to take off and it never did.

Well, that's understandable.

Let's not let this get too political, but the book isn't about fascism, it's about the relationship between citizens and their country/state/nation. The movie is actually about fascism(a quote from the director's and screenwriter's commentrary: "War makes us all a little fascist"), but then again the movie was a delightfully satirical and unfaithful take on the themes in the book.

Very well put.

Ender's Game? Foundation? Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Neuromancer? Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Will do, will do, read, will do, will do.

I could ask why you disliked it in an intellectual manner, but instead I'll resort to immaturely calling you an illiterate monkey.

At least I can tolerate the movie!

I will find where you sleep and murder you for mentioning that abomination.

It's very much pro-military, but not necessarily Fascism. The Terran Federation in the book allows only veterans to vote, but it's still a democratic government.

Personally, I view it as at least partially satirical.

Alright, why didn't someone tell me to pick this up earlier?

It's almost everything I ever wanted in sci-fi. A basis in reality and fact, along with background that makes the world believable. Political undertones that really do make you think for a second. What really is the meaning of rights and duties? And last but most certainly not the least, power armor. I can't believe I had missed it for so long...

And I swear, if one of you so much as mentions the horrid film adaptation, you'll leave with several broken ribs.

Sir_Stabbalot enters the thread, finding nothing worth responding ti in the OP. But as he is about to leave, he notices the replies. Something triggers again in the back of his mind. That old fear surfaces. He falls to one knee, visibly tortured.

"I, I have forgotten my duty..."

Had the threat grown while he idly rested and slept? Had the seeds of corruption been planted while he solved interesting puzzles via the use of inter-dimensional rifts created at will for his sole use (Portal)? Could it be that as he fought off the Universal Union's last hope of containing the rebellion, that he had let an even greater threat grow freely?

No. He would not fail.

"Brothers! I have returned!"

He left, ready to don his power armor again.

Hmm... I remember hearing that there was a Radeon x1950 Pro available somewhere for $120, but I haven't been able to find it. I'll keep looking. If you can find it, that would probably be the best bet.

That motherboard has a built-in Intel graphics chip, which probably wouldn't run games very well.

However, as Partybear said, it's still a good motherboard and it's got a 16x PCI Express slot, so it should be easy to find a good video card for rather cheap.
