Well thanks for the welcome.  I am not an elitist so I don't think we'll have any problems there either.

I'm new.

And I have a few questions:

1. What are the sig limits? That goes for the ammount of letter & symbols and the picture size. I've looked everywhere and I can't find them.

2. What do the rules mean when they say I have to host my avatar on my personal webspace? Mine is hosted on Image Shack. Is that alright?

Some answers would be greatly appriciated.

1. I think the hard limit is 255 chars, pictures aren't allowed on these boards because too many people would just link inappropriate or too large pictures or leech e.g. screenshots from another site. That means both posts and sigs.

2. "Personal webspace" merely means no leeching from other boards or websites, the pic has to be under your "control" so you're okay.

Oh, I think I never formally introduced myself in this thread but I'm about 4000 posts too late for that now.

hi everyone

This is a crazy video done by huge nintendo fans , it uses a whole mix of nintendo references and the music is by a band who wrote the song about nintendo....it might take long to load but it's worth the wait

You can click on the main link just to play the vid or get the story from the website
cheers

Hi.  I'm not new here, but I wanted to share this, and I didn't know where else to put it.

Has anyone else noticed that Microsoft Word's spellcheck tool doesn't recognize the word "GameCube" but both "Xbox" and "PlayStation" are in there?  Kinda weird.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Hey everyone.  Just thought I'd add to the insanity that is this thread.  Kingvudu I just checked it out and you're right...pretty lame if you ask me.  It also recognizes "Dreamcast" but that's no surprise since they helped make it.  Atleast it recognizes the word "Nintendo" though...

I am not a newbie here (well i sort of am i've been for only around 6 months) but i have kind of a newbie question. My brother wants to make an account for the forums here on account i won't let him use mine because he is a bit of a jack@$$. He was about to make one when i read the Terms of Agreement where it states that they can eject anyone from the forums for crude and rude behaivour..which is fair. But it also says you can ban from the site! If this happens to my brother (i'll make sure it won't) but if it does will i be able to access this site on my computer??

I also never officially signed in here when i first joined!! So this is my official SIGN IN!
Images are not allowed in signatures. That includes moving images (video).

Hi all.  I'm new, obviously, but I've been lurking for a couple of months, so I know what goes down.  I love the site, and I've been looking for a board that will accept me, and have similiar views as me.  Gamefaqs failed miserably, I hate that place, everybody there is a jerk.  You guys seem nice, and I believe that I will enjoy this community.

Now I just need to find a place that will host an avatar, any suggestions?
It may be simple, but it ain't easy.

"But it also says you can ban from the site! If this happens to my brother (i'll make sure it won't) but if it does will i be able to access this site on my computer??"

Depends...Sometimes just the name is banned, but sometimes the IP is also banned...Just keep your brother out of trouble...

And welcome, Robotor, most of us here are of decent behavior so you'll probably feel right at home...

As for avatars, the most popular picture upload site is probably Photobucket.com...

Hi ya all! I've been here a week or too now and most of you guys know me however this is just to make sure everyone does.
I am a keen gamer but I (no offence meant to anyone) highly disslike Sony and Microsoft. They make some good games eg age of empires, FF VII but there overall policies dissagree with my own.
I personally believe that the UK is one of the greatest countries in the world. This is mainly due to the time about 150 years ago when our navy ruled the sea and our technology powered the world. This may result in accidental offence when I get cought up in the moment. If I do ever offend anyone I am truly truly sorry.

The games I am currently playing are:
Tales of Symphonia
Metriod and Prime 1 and 2
Beyond good and evil

The games I want are:
Mercenaries
Star fox armada
Resident evil 4
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures
The movies
Cossacks anthology collection
Baten kaitos
The Entente- World War 1 Battlefields
Age of empires 2

When I'm not on the gamecube or chained to the computer writing my book, I'm watching TV. My favourate shows include The Simpsons, Futurama and most animes.
Ok I think that's it, any more questions just ask.
No, we're not eating Nibbler - leela
I'll fire up the grill - Bender

Welcome to the boards, dack...Everyone seems to need help with getting an avatar, maybe it should be included in the FAQ...

1) First, get some webspace...Examples: Photobucket, Angelfire, etc...
2) Copy URL of pic from your webspace...
3) Paste URL into box labeled "External Icon" in your profile...

And that's it, hope you enjoy yourself here!
