It's still not worth the cost of losing Wii Street U. 😢

The amiibo functionality in this game actually sounds really cool and fun!

I cannot begin to comprehend why a regular 3DS should be unable to play 16-bit games from 20+ years ago. 😠

How does one achieve 4-player local multiplayer with a figure base that only supports two characters? Is a new Infinity base being created, or will you just plug two of them into your console? (Which might make sense for those of us who own two or three different starter sets...)

This and Majora's Mask are the only two Zelda games that I never really managed to get into. This one in particular had the longest, most boring intro sequences ever. The dungeon puzzles were also rather unintuitive. I ended up giving up on the Wii version after a week or so.

How about a sale on the Assassin's Creed DLC? 😒
Also, is Watch Dogs worth $15? I've heard mixed reviews.

I would've bought the Special Edition, but I never had a chance. Maybe Nintendo will finally take this as a sign that this is a successful series for them, and finally reissue those Robin and Lucina amiibo... 😒

I'm going with December. I think Nintendo will push it as close to the end of the year as possible to squeeze every last drop of development time into it as possible.

The amiibo comes bundled with the game anyway, so this shouldn't be an issue for anyone. The only way they pull this off with digital buyers is if the download version comes at a $10 to $20 lower price point to compensate for the cost of a standalone amiibo.

God bless it!!! Why did this take so long?? It's the only Metroid game I've never bought or played. I'm snapping tho up immediately, but I'm still bitter at Nintendo for dragging their feet on it so egregiously.

Bayou Billy arrives, but can't be bothered to bring Contra along with it. Insane.

$25 per amiibo... yeesh. I'm still not excited for these versions, honestly.

TalkBack / Re: Minecraft Coming To Wii U December 17: $29.99

Minecraft is the most boring and pointless game to ever find a rabid fan base of millions. I can't stand it... but my daughter absolutely loves it, which will make this a great present for her to download on her Wii U on Christmas morning. She'll finally have something she wants to play other than just Splatoon.

I loved the first Xenoblade more than most games I've played in my lifetime, so I'm incredibly excited for this (and have the $90 special edition all pre-ordered and ready to go!). My GamePad battery scarcely holds a charge anymore, though, which is obviously not going to serve me well when I finally sit down with this game. I'm gonna need to replace that ASAP!

I've already bought this to be a Christmas present for my daughter--she LOVES Animal Crossing--but I'm already dreading Christmas day, when she's going to want me to play it with her for hours...

TalkBack / Re: Mega Man Legacy Collection (3DS), Gold Mega Man Amiibo Dated
« on: November 14, 2015, 12:00:21 AM »
It's the original six NES games plus some remixed challenges from those games. Since I already have all six games downloaded on both my Wii U and my 3DS, the gold amiibo is my only real incentive to buy this. My GameStop only had five pre-orders available for it, so I had to order it online. Tax + shipping brings it to $60. That's ridiculous. This gold amiibo had better be super rare in order to justify this expenditure.

$50 for the amiibo edition (up for pre-order now on Gamestop.com). Jesus Lord Almighty, that's excessive.

This just might be the first game in the history of the series that I have virtually zero interest in.
That makes me sad.

Very interesting. The Wii U may end up having the shortest console lifespan ever. It's still a wonderful system, but I hope Nintendo finds much more success with the next one.

@azeke: Why? GBA games come out surprisingly well on the Wii U, as a matter of fact.

If you want these games to come to the States, then support them any way you can. If that means buying digital, then suck it up and buy digital. By not supporting the game, all you do is reinforce Nintendo's decision to not bring these games Stateside in the first place, and in doing that, you make the gaming world a worse place for all of us. Just support the damned game, please.

Yeah, Nintendo has a tea aversion to stocking the Fire Emblem characters. Except for Marth, they were all by far the most difficult amiibo for me to hunt down.

TalkBack / Re: Things I Think I Think About Star Fox Zero's Delay
« on: September 18, 2015, 06:34:09 PM »
Nintendo is one of those few companies I prefer to support on day one, partially because I simply lkve their games and have since the '80s, and partially because the Wii U is a wonderful but criminally underloved console that deserves all the support it can get. But Xenoblade X alone should keep me more than busy until Star Fox rolls along, so waiting a few extra months for it doesn't seem bothersome at all.

As for buying multiple games within the same timeframe, I simply enjoy having choices. One night I might be up for a game that's tense and deeply involving; the next, I might more tired and in the mood for something that's easier to just pick up and play for a short time. I enjoy having some variety in my game library.

I'm 100% fine with the delay. Not only will it make for a better game, which I have always applauded Nintendo for being so committed to putting the time and resources into, but the game and amiibo releases between now and December was already on the verge of breaking my bank account. This is now $60 that I can save long enough to send out of next year's tax return instead, and I'm all right with that.
