Not to take anything away from these two great games, but this is a rather boring and predictable final.

52
Does anyone remember if this game was featured in a Nintendo Direct? It seems like that is something that Nintendo could have easily done to potentially increase the awareness of the game without incurring huge marketing costs.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo Wi-Fi Grand Finale
« on: March 02, 2014, 03:53:24 AM »
I actually used the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection on the Wii and DS quite a lot. Some of my favourite memories include Tetris DS' item battle multiplayer (insanely fun) and Goldeneye 007's multiplayer on the Wii (in which I put in close to 100 hours). I loved Goldeneye's simplified version of COD's multiplayer. I also enjoyed the unique character names I would see online, like "Cereal Bowl" and "Sex Panther".

One of the big things on my "To Do" list before the service shuts down is to unlock the daily puzzles in Professor Layton and the Last Spectre. I would also like to download the various quests in DQ IX, but I imagine that I would have to play the game for a bit before being able to do that.

I suggest we add Good Feel to the growing list.

Attention Canadian eShop patrons/Mega Man fans: The $2.00 deals for Mega Man X and Dr. Wily's Revenge have finally arrived!

I wouldn't object to Nintendo sending all early adopters one of these for Christmas...

I passed by at least three Nintendozones today, and while I managed to get the gold-pantsed Mii distribution, I didn't get a single other street pass notification. Is that wierd?

Apparently Kid Icarus: Uprising is $10 at some Canadian Target stores.

If you're interested, might be worth checking your local store.

Also, the collector's set of Prima guides has dropped in price as well:

I recall finding the controls quite slippery when I first began playing the game, too. However, it didn't take too long to really get the hang of them. Once I did, it was great fun.

The cars do handle a little differently, and I found the customization options essential to employ to win certain races (specifically changing tires to increase speed/grip on different surfaces).

Thanks for the heads up, Shaymin! I'm not personally interested, but I did manage to alert UncleBob.

Update: Green is now sold out as well.

TalkBack / Re: NWR's Top 10 Zelda Games: A Link Between Games

Adrock brings up an interesting point in the final paragraph of his last post. While I share his opinions on the game itself, Link's Awakening was truly an amazing game when it was originally released because it was not only a friggin' portable Zelda, but it was a huge, enormously ambitious Zelda that rivaled its SNES counterpart in everything except graphics. It was an amazing thing at the time that will never be replicated, so those Zelda fans who weren't around for it simply won't have that same appreciation for the game.

I only played Link's Awakening for the first time when it was released on 3DS eShop and I absolutely fell in love with it. I guess you could argue that because I never played it when it was originally released I'll never truly understand what it felt like to play it on a Gameboy, to be blown away by the technical achievement of having a game of that scope on a handheld; on the other hand I do think that the game stands on it's own merits and could be just as enjoyable today as it was back then. It certainly helps that I'm already inclined towards deriving pleasure from classic games, but I really do think Link's Awakening has stood the test of time.

Very well put. There are many things about Link's Awakening that I feel warrant appreciation, not simply just the technical marvels it showcased when first released.I'd certainly agree that the game stands on its own merits, but I can understand if its not for everyone.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Metroid Prime Trilogy for $85 Question
« on: August 18, 2013, 05:04:30 PM »
Considering jumping in for about $80 CAD after stacking coupons. Will also be shipping to an American mailbox just across the border to eliminate the shipping costs.

I'm still debating whether or not to go for it. It's a cool collection, but the reality is that I don't NEED to own this. The question is, do I want it enough? If anyone out there wants to weigh in and try to convince me one way or another, feel free!

I'm really interested in picking this up too, and I am only interested if it is 100% complete as well. Someone from another forum I visit said that although they may have been lucky, the copy they bought was 100% there and the Club Nintendo points were unused. Apparently it even felt and smelt like new. This is just one person's account though, so take that into consideration.

I wouldn't mind paying $85, but the fact that I'm in Canada and the exchange rate plus the $20 international shipping fee will push the price over $100 for three games that I already own in some other form makes it tough to pull the trigger.

EDIT: Apparently if you use the code GUST15 you can get $15 off the order.

72
Considered ordering a copy of MPT through GameStop's website, but they want $20 to ship the game to Canada. F*** that noise!

73
Why can't Nintendo take pre-orders for the reprinting of a game like Xenoblade Chronicles through their own website? Wouldn't they then be able to determine whether or not the demand exists and if a reprint would be worth it?

Wow, that score is shocking! Is it really that bad? I've owned this game since its original release, and I quite enjoyed it when I was younger. That being said, I really haven't played it since, so I really can't support or refute this review.

However, when comparing it to KDL3, I think I remember there being more secrets in KDL2. As mentioned in the review, you can search for Rainbow Drops throughout the game (sadly, I don't think I ever found all of them). In KDL3, the game is more of a linear progression from left to right, is it not?
