Because I'm into superficial details, check out the new Wii, much like the old Wii:

Looking snazzy!

edit: notice 'Wii' branding (of course), speaker on controller, round power button, smaller player lights, and light on power button. Now the thing is even more apple-esque.

I don't know about you guys, but I used to use a pair of headphones as a mic when I was desperate.

By the way, I noticed in the Mario Galaxy footage that at one point, the player put the remote up to his face. Was he listening to it, or talking into it?

I think the controller looks better without the speaker in there, but I won't care when I hear arrows whizzing from my hand to the tv.

Ah.

Not sure if anyone cares, but looking through the Wii site, it turns out the X/a Y/b are now buttons 1 and 2.

Also, the nunchaku-wiimote connector is different. As is the analog stick. As is the "direct pointing device". Looking good all around.

You know the Wii logo is the wrong way for me to sit my Wii the right way. (I think it look better not in the sill stand.)

I saw a larger version of the Mario video... the 2 players are just listening. It's nowhere near their mouths. But a mic would be cool too.

Wanna see something else I noticed?

Might be nothing but the Wiimote on the right has a gray zone under the index finger. She's covering up the side pretty good. Might be nothing, might be covering up sloppy prototype work, or.... meh. Well there it is anyway.

Not sure about that. That's a pretty clean 90 degree angle, there...

It looks like there's a battery compartment on the back of the remote. They've also made the B button more trigger like. It could even be analog, but I guess I should look for some hands-on impressions to find out.

Ummm...there ARE start and select buttons.

And, in the mario vid they're listening to the coin sound.
