TalkBack / RE: Wii will be Hard to Get in Europe, Says Nintendo
« on: November 29, 2006, 09:56:00 AM »
It's your time Europe you are getting a Launch within 3 weeks of a console's first launching.  Nintendo vaules you unlike Sony or MS so get out there and show them that you love the Wii just like you do the DS.

I have Sonic and Bonk.  Both are great games, I had never played a Turbo Graphix-16 game before and had never played Bonk before, I am pleasantly surprised on both fronts.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Some weird Wii problems, anyone have them?

I've ran into a few problems with my Wii and was wondering if these are common or not:

1. Sometimes when I shut the system via the Wiimote the screen goes black but the little power indicator stays green and it is almost like it has froze up since you can't turn it on nor off. I have to go physically push down the power off button on the system itself for it to actually go into stand by mode.

2. When connecting to the Wii store I get "connecting" and it just stays like that for a long time and doesn't time out or anything (one time it was doing it for 20 minutes), even holding down the power button on the Wiimote to turn the system off doesn't work either (BTW updates work fine along with sending and receiving Miis, it just seems to be the store that does this)

Both of these have happened to me at one time, however I just waited for about 15 sec's on the Wii turn off one and it finally turned off.  They are minor problems, and they happen very rarely for me so I am content.

It is a very professional name and I like that. I think that the people that work for this site are some off the hardest working true professionals in gaming journalism and now they have a name to match that professional attitude.

I found this site in much the same way the staff said they did and I have loved it ever since.  I worked for another site that is now no longer around, and the entire time I worked there all I ever wanted to do was try to be as good as the people that work for this site and I think I did for the most part.

This site is the best gaming site on the net, it breaks big news first a lot, but the real sign of being the best is the fact that it reports every bit of news from Zelda to telling everybody that the new Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen game just shipped.  Even if nobody says "wow I am so gonna go get that game" at least we know that you guys are so hard working and professional you are gonna report that anyway just to make sure you have all the Nintendo news out there.

You could change your name to "Wii Wii's Playhouse" and I would still come back, cause this site (to steal a Bret Hart line) is "The Best there is, the Best there was, and the best there ever will be" period.

TalkBack / RE: EDITORIALS: Happy Anniversary, Pong
« on: November 14, 2006, 10:09:52 PM »
Great Editorial man, very heartfelt and very true.  You are so right also, the Wii does have the same appeal as Pong, this may be the best way to describe it even.  We can only hope that the Wii becomes the  Phenomenon that Pong was, but one thing is for sure the potential is there.

I have never wanted to buy a console to play it with my friends and family before, I have always bought it just for myself and then you just end up playing with your gamer friends.  This time is different though, the first thing I want to do is play with my family and friends, not just the gamer ones either all of them, and I think the promise of their future joy brings me more joy also.

Nintendo's vision is an amazing one in which we can all come together to play.  While this vision means more money for them, it means more fun, memories and indeed happiness for us.  Anything that can do that is not just a good thing, but a great thing, that has the power to change peoples views on gaming and the gamers themselves.

Sorry for writing a mini-editorial myself, just wanted to say that was a great read thanks!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Pre-Order Lines...
« on: October 13, 2006, 10:02:04 PM »
Ok, I drove to the Mall and got there at 8:50 AM EST, they open the mall door's at 8:55 AM and I walk in.  I was extremely confident that I was gonna get a pre-order because I live in Miami, FL and there are like 25-30 Gamestop/EB's just within like 10 Mile's of my house, plus the mall I went too has a both a Gamestop and a EB in it. I also knew how many consoles both stores were getting, 14 for the Gamestop and an amazing 33 for the EB.  I like the gamestop better though so I went there when the door's opened there was another guy waiting by the door I was trying to get a Wii Pre-Order, but he went to the EB.  I was first in like at the Gamestop there and waited till 10 AM and got the first pre-order out of the 14.  I called both the Gamestop and EB later at like 11 AM and they were both sold out BTW, pretty amazing, I'm happy I got mine anyway.
