It appears I'm wrong here. They joked about him playing David, but nothing confirmed. Williams is very likely playing Ellie however.

It seems pointless to make that into a movie. The game's presentation is pretty much already that of a movie, so I'm not sure what this could do that hasn't already been done.

Is there really a big market for this, though? It doesn't seem like the kind of thing with the widest appeal, and the best case scenario would seem to be a rehash of the story from the game, which I imagine most of the people who'd be interested in this have already played.

There are two types of people who will see this movie: the "Wow, they're making a movie out of The Last of Us? Cool." crowd and the "That's was a solid trailer. I think I'll see this." crowd. The latter of whom hasn't played the game and likely never heard of it. The studio is probably banking on that group being big enough to make $$$$.

Wonder woman outfit

The crowd of course went wild, but even more so when Snyder then brought Affleck, Cavill, and even “our Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot. No questions or discussion -- just the four of them standing together up there for our earliest look at the Big Three together.
