The only thing holding that movie together was, as usual, Gary Oldman.

The pilot for the flash is really good.

It was pretty good, and I'll be tuning in for sure, not that I wasn't already, but now I'm much more confident in that decision.
The Arrow cameo was CHE EEE SSEEEY "Coool!" Hopefully they reshoot that scene before it airs again.
That Grodd reference!! oh ****, I would love to see how they pull that one off.
and the walking cripple Dr. with access to a newspaper from the future!?
I'm not into DC comics, so I'm not very familiar with all things The Flash. Anyone care to speculate based on comic knowledge?

I wouldn't say that I'm excited about TMNT, but that trailer did probably push me from the position of "meh" to "I actually might go watch this."

Well the flash is cheesy and I loved it when Ollie said cool as well. Nerds and guys in the gaf thread may find it cheesy, but that's probably going to go over really well with general audiences who tend to like cheesy stuff.

The Flash does a lot of time travel here and there, and one of his enemies is professor Thawne a time traveler who also has speed force powers.  In all probability the doctor is a descendent of the cop who's dating Iris. He's also most likely the one who kills barry's mother.

As for references we got a ton of them.

Caitlin Snow becomes Killer Frost a sometimes firestorm villain who's now a Anti-hero of sorts.
Cisco becomes Vibe who has multiverse powers.
Edwarde Thawne the cop is the name of the reverse Flash

As for the the newspaper.

Flash disappears in the crisis is a reference to The Crisis which is a multiverse event in which the Anti-monitor goes earth to earth destroying crap. The Red skies are usually a sign of the Crisis hitting the earth (or sometimes darksied if irrc).

The Wayne tech and Queen consolidated merger is a batman refrence meaning we may see Harley and Nightwing next season on Arrow. It also may be an indication that the films/Shows take place in the same universe. Remember this wasn't supposed to leak and it wasn't going to be publicly show till next  month when we get the confirmed DC road map or announcements.

I feel they are going the wrong direction with the Turtles.  They are going loud…and they shouldn't have.

If I was going to re-imagine the Turtles for a gritty style.  I would look at modern Ninja, martial arts films and start building my lore there.

I would focus on the idea that the Foot clan ARE Ninjas, and the theft and violence is never seen.  Nobody knows what this organization is…and that is crippling the city in fear.  It sounds like the first movie…but don't make it about recruiting our kids.  The Foot Clan doesn't care about kids or even stolen goods…it cares about control with fear.  And as the city starts to panic people start doing stupid things.  Bringing the city further into chaos.

That is how I would handle Turtles….then you make Shedder not a robot but some badass Ninja, that almost seems mystical in skill.  Play off of the idea that people believe Ninjas have sort of "magical" powers….Ninja tricks.  The movie should focus a lot on deception and no mercy…and of course revenge.  The Shedders downfall is his blind rage for Splinter, and you need to really play that up.

For the Turtles, big and bulky doesn't work.  I think lean, silent…brutally efficient.

Basically, Michael Bay had a chance to make the Turtles into something modern and special for adults but just made another transformers loud movie.

Anybody interested in a Denzel Washington movie made by the director of 'Training Day'?

You seriously can't go wrong with Denzel fighting to save a girl also.

I don’t think I’ve seen this posted yet: coming this summer to FX, Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain!

The series will premiere on July 13th. Really looking forward to this series. The books were entertaining. It's about time we had a good and scary vampire movie again. The vampires are treated more like a dangerous, contagious virus, which makes for an interesting twist. And it's del Toro!

Transformers 4 has hit about 200 million its opening weekend. Pretty impressive for a franchise that constantly gets trashed.

See, I think it's the opposite--designed by committee, far from what I've seen of the original designs.

So, I downloaded obtained the entire TMNT 1987 series...I know this is blasphemy, but it's not nearly as good as I remember. Only watched the first two episodes so far though.

Let the past live on in your memories. Things are almost never as good as we remember them to be, especially that young of an age.

And I also wanted to post the connected photo of Big Hero 6

Kind of reminds me of Series 3 Marvel cards (I have a ton of series 1, 2, 3, Spider-Man, X-Men, Punisher, some others).

Anyway, anyone ever realize that in the 1987 Shredder was voiced by Phil (James Avery) from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?

Even bigger news than Yahoo bringing Community back for a 6th season (who's gonna greenlight the movie!?) is that Yahoo has an already existing video streaming service to put it on.

Fantastic Four to have a "found footage" feel to it....
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Fantastic-Four-Have-Found-Footage-Feel-43635.html

Quote
The Hollywood Reporter has run an interview with Fox's President of Production Emma Watts, who has revealed some interesting details about the studio's other big comic book-based properties. Chief among them, while discussing what's in store for 2015's big superhero reboot, Watts was asked if we can expect to have the movie to have the "same found-footage feel" as Chronicle, which was given a very affirmative answer:

"It's Josh, so it can't not have that feel. That's his talent, that's what he does, and that's what excites him about it. It is a really interesting young cast [Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell], and he is the magnet that's brought them all together."

Of course, this doesn't mean that we can expect that The Fantastic Four will be filled with characters running around with handicams and narrating the story all from off screen. Instead, what I imagine Watts is referring to is instead a visual style similar to what Paul Greengrass has established, using a good amount of hand-held camera work to lend the movie the feel of a docu-drama. There are a few critics of this visual style - both within the found footage genre and outside - due to the fact that some people get nauseous watching too much hand-held, but there are certainly films where that aesthetic works to the story's advantage.

Welp, since that rumor turned out to be true, I'm just gonna assume all the rest of the rumors (which I will also assume came from the same place) are also true.

So they are filming with more of an outline instead of a polished script. THis movie is more than likely going to be absolutely TURRIBAD. And it is 100% a last second effort to get something in production before the rights revert. [/supposed rumors][/quote]

I forgot to mention that it is also going to be "REALISTIC" along with this "found footage" style to it.
It really doesn't help that they are or at least started filming before they even had a script. and it's just salt to the wound to know that they are only doing it so that Marvel can't have it (or any part of it) back.

Dear Glob, that sounds fucking horrible.  Found footage is the worst genre/style of film.  It almost always had 1000% too much shaky cam and constantly begs the question of "Who the **** is filming this ****?".  Being found footage kept "End of Watch" from being a good movie.

"Found footage" is slang for "low budget" (only with a high budget). It's like those people that spend a lot of time working on their hair to make it look like they don't spend a lot of time working on their hair.

So...since they are filming how long will we have to wait once this bombs for Marvel to get it back. I had hoped that it would revert in time for Avengers 2 so that they could start being incorporated into post-A2 material.
