Suddenly the song "Be Prepared" is running through my head. Jeremy Irons really should play a villain.

Here is the conversation that took place at WB Studios that led to this casting choice.

Assistant: Sir, the fans and the internet are all clamoring for Heisenberg to be Lex Luthor...
WB Exec: Well, what do you think of that choice?
Asst.: frankly I think it would be a great fit.
WB Exec: Then I'll have the casting director get him in here to audition for the part.
::several weeks and phone calls later::
WB Exec: Thank you for joining us Mr. Heisenberg
Jesse: It's Eisenberg sir
WB Exec: Yeah, right, I haven't seen it myself, but my daughter was huge fan of your show Breaking Bad...
Jesse: That's Heisenberg sir
WB Exec: That's what I said
Jesse: But I'm Eisenberg sir
WB Exec: That's close enough for me, you got the part.
Jesse: ....

This movie sounds worse every day. The whole idea seems stupid to begin with, and they were taking a HUGE risk with Batfleck, but now it's just getting retarded.

Check out Esisenberg during this interview from Oct. 2013

He looks so uncomfortable the entire time, and he let the guy on the right just keep talking and talking.
I think he knew way back then that it was best not to say anything about the role at all.
Interview got cut just before that bead of sweat dropped off his brow though. close call.
I hope he can hold it together better when faced with the Man of Steel on one hand and The Dark Knight on the other.

Yeah, Eisenberg is kind of a "WTF" casting choice.  I don't think he has the range to be as complex as Lex is in the comics, and I also think that Lex Luthor needs a deep, seductive voice.

Shelter your childhoods.

Disney is making a Live Action Chip n Dales Rescue Rangers movie.
http://variety.com/2014/film/news/rescue-rangers-disney-developing-live-action-chip-n-dale-movie-1201080563/
Quote
Disney is developing a live action film that will star its animated chipmunks Chip ‘n’ Dale.

Project will serve as an origin story for the Rescue Rangers, a team of detectives and crime fighters that also includes the mic Gadget Hackwrench and Monterey Jack and fly, Zipper.

The film is in early development with commercials director Rob Rugan writing the script, sources confirmed to Variety. Rugan, who is attached to direct “Genies” at Paramount, is also adapting book series “The Genius Files” at Warner Bros.

“Muppets Most Wanted”-producer Mandeville Films and Television’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will produce.

Project is essentially Disney’s version of Sony’s “Smurfs,” Fox’s “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and “Garfield” films, which inject cartoon characters into live action settings.

It makes sense, I just hope it turns out better than the movies that led the way.

I believe Bay retconned his script to take all references to aliens out due to public backlash.
then issued a statement that they were still mutants.

Oh? It's a Bay movie? Yeah, not watching it. Almost fooled me.

He wanted them to be Aliens?! That just shows a fundamental ignorance and respect to the source material. He should just go make more Bad Boys movies. There any damage done will be contained.

Still shows his ignorance to the source material. Ninja Turtles holds a special place in my heart. It was the show I was forbidden to watch (along with Ghostbusters) because it was 'too scary' for me. I snuck and watched it anyways.  ;D

He's just producing and not writing the script.  In his clarification, he mentioned that it was the ooze that was alien, emphasizing that this was cannon.

So, he misspoke and called them Aliens...? then had to clarify that they were always mutants....?
I'm sure there was no rewriting of the script between those 2 events.

edit: The mutagen being alien would make sense though. (should have read the following 2 replies before replying)

I think there was a solid year between events, so I'm sure there had to be some work done on the script.

But yeah, I think people are just assuming the worst with this movie because it's Michael Bay.  The original quote didn't help.  Everyone got pissed at that.

Regardless of how the movie turns out, the trailer made it look exciting and funny.

Well..... I haven't really been a fan of these Transformers movies since the 1st one. I guess that tradition shall carry on. They succeed w/o my support, so this will likely lead to another sequel too.

This makes me think that they're going with a very specific Ultimate Spider-Man storyline.
Death of Spider-Man.
